💫 Regressor Luz Headcanons ! <3

- Luz actually began to use age regression as a coping mechanism long before she came to the Boiling Isles ! When Luz was 12 years old she stumbled onto the concept when she was looking at The Good Witch Azura posts and immediately found comfort in the coping mechanism !

- At first Luz mainly age-dreamed. She found it incredibly hard to fully regress at first, no matter how hard she tried she just couldn’t slip into the headspace. :(

- Luckily for Luz, she has an incredibly fantastic mum ! It took a while for Luz to get the courage to talk with Camila about her peculiar coping mechanism but eventually, she did. At first, Camila didn’t understand fully, but she was supportive nonetheless ! After asking more questions and doing some research, Camila was more than ready to be Luz’s caregiver ! “No need to ask me to be your caregiver, mija. I already have been yours for 12 years.” Camila would chuckle lovingly as she ruffled her daughter’s hair.

- Luz of course was overjoyed about this, and actually managed to regress comfortably ! Camila is a great caregiver and they often had mother-daughter days when she has her days off from work !

- Before Luz heads to the Boiling Isles she’s mainly a voluntary regressor, she’s never involuntarily regressed - but that all changes once she spends time in the Boiling Isles. At first, Luz is in control of her regression, she’s never had any problems with accidentally regressing after all. Why would she have problems now ?

- Of course signs of Luz regressing start to show, such as her suddenly talking like a toddler in front of Eda. Luz and Eda are equally confused - Luz never had trouble containing her regression ? Let alone involuntarily regressing ? “Kid, you feeling okay ?” Eda would question with a tinge of concern. “Uhmmm - yeah ! Totally fine ! Gotta go !” Luz would sheepishly sputter out before rushing to her room.

- Eda nor Luz brought it up again because Luz didn’t want to be seen as someone who was weak and defenseless. She already got treated that way because she was human ! She needed to prove that she was strong, she craved to be acknowledged as a strong and powerful witch ! However, after the close call with Emperor Belos, Eda nearly getting petrified, and Luz losing her way back to Camila, it all comes crashing down.

- A week after the whole incident happens, Luz can feel the fuzzy feeling overwhelm her body. The guilt, the shame, the fear, and so many strong emotions begin to rack her brain. It’s a nasty punch in the gut as she desperately clings to her big headspace, but it’s a losing battle as she is brought to her knees. Shaking and sobbing uncontrollably.

- Surprisingly, the first person to come to Luz’s aid is Hooty. Hooty can be obnoxious at times, but he always tries to help as he gently asks Luz what’s wrong - only to be interrupted by Eda. Eda immediately goes to comfort Luz, King trailing behind her and Lilith being aloof but sympathetic. Eda, however, can’t get a response out of Luz, the only thing she does get is the kid sobbing out apologies, or her shouting “IT’S ALL MY FAULT !! IT’S ALL MY FAULT !!”

- Eda’s face sours into a heartbroken expression. Which was a rare sight to see from The Owl Lady. King and Hooty are visibly upset, and Lilith silently leaves the room wearing a worn expression of regret and guilt. Eda notices Luz tightly grabbing onto her arms like her life depended on it, and Eda pulls the poor kid closer into a tight embrace. “Hey, shhh, you’re going to be okay Luz, it’s not your fault,” Eda whispers in such a soft tone that it surprises herself and everyone else in the room. Luz is just - so distraught, Eda had never seen her normally bubbly apprentice that upset before.

- Although, that wasn’t the only new thing that Eda noticed. As soon as she got Luz into a calmer state she asked if she and King wanted some snacks and instead of verbally responding Luz simply nodded. Another thing - the kid wouldn’t let go of Eda, having the grey-haired woman carry Luz on her side. Eda didn’t question it or point anything out, at least not now. Lilith was in the kitchen and had already made some tea for everyone. Giving Luz a gentle pat on the head as she exited to the living room. Lilith didn’t see anything unusual - after all, she barely knew Luz and figured that bawling that much would tire the kid out.

- Eda however, had a hunch of what was going on. She wasn’t new to age regression and made a plausible assumption that Luz probably regressed and didn’t realise. Under the impression that Luz was new to age regression, Eda was mentally preparing a talk that she was gonna have with the brown-haired girl as soon as she was in her big headspace. Eda’s just glad that she managed to handle things relatively well - when Raine first regressed at Hexside they looked so scared and embarrassed. If it weren’t for the bard and healing professors poor Raine probably would’ve had a panic attack. :(

- Eda snapped back to reality and peered down at Luz, the poor thing looked so small. Luz was too tired to cry anymore at this point, she just wanted comfort - she wanted her mum she missed Camila so much. It clouded her mind as her mentor carried her upstairs to her room. Eda figured it’d be better to keep Luz in a quiet and private area. The Owl Lady fed Luz some apple slices little by little as she rocked in a rocking chair. Tummy full and being so deeply regressed Luz fell asleep in Eda’s arms. It made the middle-aged woman smile warmly as she set Luz down in her nest to sleep. She’d clear things up in the morning.

- Morning came and it was - rather awkward between Luz and Eda. Both women were busy trying to figure out a way to properly tell each other what happened without realizing that they both already knew. Let’s just say typical owl house shenanigans ensued but both ended up finally talking and surprising each other ! “YOU ALREADY KNEW ??” Both would shout in a mix of shock and relief.

- King was utterly confused but it got explained to him, and of course, Hooty already knew somehow. Hooty knows all. Luz was just happy that she could have some comfort than reminded her of her home. Eda immediately asked to be her caregiver and of course, Luz said yes ! But Luz wanted to make some things clear— outside her mother literally, no one knew Luz age regressed. Given the fact that Luz was already dealing with people treating her like she was weak because she was human, she wanted to make it clear to Eda that just because she regressed didn’t mean she was weak ! Eda snorted at Luz’s statement, obviously Luz age regressing didn’t mean she was weak ! “Relax kid, I know all about the ins and outs of this !” Eda would state nonchalantly with a reassuring wink.

- Thanks to Eda’s reassurance, little by little Luz became more open with age regression. Eda made sure that Luz knew that she shouldn’t feel ashamed of her coping mechanism, especially since it was healthy ! Luz decides to tell Willow, Gus, and eventually, Amity about her regression and they’re all extremely supportive ! It turns out Gus was also a regressor and Willow would often take care of him ! Speaking of Willow, she was more than happy to take on the mom-friend role even more with Luz — and unexpectedly Amity ! Amity was new to all this, but thanks to her amazing girlfriend she found comfort in age regression as well. So now we have a friend group of age regressors & caregivers ! <3

💫 That’s it for the introductory headcanons ! Which turned out a lot longer than I intended oops

Time for the short ‘n sweet ones ! <3 ( jk they aren’t short LOL )

- Luz’s age regression range is quite big ! She regresses from around 2 - 8 years old ! So be prepared for anything !

- Luz’s main caregivers are Camila and Eda ! But she has an entire squad of caregiver friends ! Girl has so much support and love <3

- Because of Luz’s big age range she can switch from being a complete sweetheart to an energetic menace - she is constantly on the move and needs supervision otherwise she will cause some form of chaos to occur

- Camila is the sweetest when it comes to Luz. She made sure to buy her lots of agere gear ! Sippy cups, pacifiers, etc. she loves her daughter !!

- Camila’s favorite thing to do with Luz is spend time outside ! Pushing her on the swings of her old play set, picking flowers, climbing trees ! They’ll often get covered in mud but Camila doesn’t mind !

- Despite Luz being a sweetheart majority of the time she’s definitely way more comfortable being herself around Camila. She is her mum after all, which means Luz can get a bit bratty sometimes. Camila of course puts in fair rules for her daughter but that doesn’t stop Luz from making her mum chase her around the house because she refuses to take a nap or a bath !! It’s constant ‘>:3’ energy from Luz. It can be tiring for Camila but it’s not like it’s anything new to her of course

- With Eda however, Luz is more obedient. That is unless King or Lilith is around. King being King and Lilith being a regressor the amount of trouble these three can cause is mind-boggling huge. Eda never thought she’d tell Hooty that he was in charge if both Lilith and Luz were regressed and she had to run some errands. To her surprise, Hooty is an excellent babysitter !

- Speaking of Lilith, she takes the cool aunt role to heart. She loves to babysit Luz when she can ! She’s responsible but still fun to be around ! Anytime Luz calls her ‘Auntie Lulu’ her heart melts. She never expected to be good with kids let alone have a niece but she’s all here for it !

- As for Eda, she never thought of herself as a maternal figure. Although she kinda was with Raine back in the day - she’d never admit it. Admit it out loud at least. With Luz, however, she’s just so gentle with her. Same with Lilith, King, etc. She is the definition of a crazy mother with a heart of gold

- Willow and Luz !! Luz loves it when Willow puts flowers in her hair ! Willow is known for giving the best hugs too ! ( At least according to Gus ) Willow isn’t used to taking care of someone with such a big regression range but she’s trying ! She’s more in her element if Luz is regressed to 2 - 3 years old since that’s usually what Gus regresses to ! It’s good to have Willow around when Luz is a ball of energy ! She’s both a stern and gentle caregiver

- Gus isn’t much of a caregiver, but he’s good at making little Luz laugh ! Better yet, when they’re both regressed they are an iconic duo ! Luz loves being Gus’ big sis ! Much to the boy’s joy ! Willow will watch the two of them as they goof off without a care. “Who’s the cutest little babyyyy ?? You areeee !!” Luz would pinch Gus’ cheeks as he babbles and giggles like crazy. These two are climbers too ! Willow will find herself constantly carrying them around or having them jump on her. She’s a tired but very content caregiver <3

- Then there’s Amity ! Amity is such a good caregiver to Luz !! Her favorite pastime is reading Azura books with Luz and cuddling on the couch ! Amity rarely regresses but when she does she gets the same sweet treatment from Luz <3 Luz is a great caregiver too ! The Blight twins are also quick to jump in on the action of taking care of Luz and Amity ! Although their teasing can be a bit much for Amity they are just as goofy as ever ! Alador ends up walking in on the regressed kids at some point and instead of being weirded out as the twins awkwardly try to explain age regression to their father, his reaction is “oh ok cool kids” and promptly takes on the role as a caregiver ! Just like Eda, Alador isn’t new to age regression

- As for the other abomination dad, Darius, he’s only seen Luz regressed a couple of times - with Raine babysitting them. Darius already knew about age regression as well - he was Raine’s caregiver back in Hexside. The evening just consists of Darius playfully teasing Raine with Raine returning the same energy. The chaos only increases as Eberwolf tries to feed little Luz dog treats. Hey, the kid seemed to like it !!

- Eberwolf is better with pet regressors but that won’t stop them from giving affection ! Luz often receives a bunch of puppy kisses from Eber much to Raine’s amusement and Darius’ disgust. Darius won’t be spared from the puppy kisses either. If it’s just Luz and Darius, she’ll demand to be carried by him. His arms are like a weighted blanket as she often falls asleep in the man’s arms. She reminds Darius of a certain blonde-haired boy.

- Raine isn’t much of a singer but they can’t deny Luz if she wants a lullaby ! Out of Eda and Camila, Raine is probably the next caregiver Luz would turn to, and just like Darius, Raine comes up with all sorts of nicknames for Luz !! They’re also the kind of caregiver that baby-talks to their regressor a lot ! Of course, Darius and Eda poke fun at them for it, but they don’t care ! One thing that Raine and Luz love to play is peek-a-boo ! It’s a simple game sure, but it doesn’t stop them from getting joy and laughter out of it !

- Another thing that Raine and Luz do is just ‘meow’ at each other. It’ll happen out of nowhere one of them will just say ‘meow’ and then the other will say ‘meow’ back. This can go on for quite a while - Eberwolf was present during one of these ‘meow-offs’ as Luz puts it and they were completely quiet. Until out of the blue they started barking loudly. Making Raine jump and Luz laugh hysterically. Luz joins in on the barking which develops to howling - Raine just shrugs and joins, and at that moment Darius walks into the room - to only quickly run out and get dragged back in by the chaotic trio.

- Luz usually comes up with nicknames for her caregivers ! Darius got the nickname ‘burble’ which manages to squeeze a chuckle out of him anytime Luz calls him that. Eberwolf just gets called ‘doggie’ or ‘Ebby’ whilst in return Eberwolf calls Luz a collection of baby animal names. Usually, they go for ‘kit’ but Eber will call her ‘cub’ if she’s really little ! Some other nicknames are :

Gus : Goose, Guppy, Blues Clues

Willow : Louie, Cappie ( Luz got this one from Hunter )

Amity : Mittens, Sweet Potato, ( literally every term of endearment in English and Spanish )

Hunter : Banana. ( Luz will not elaborate on why she chooses to call Hunter banana )

- Luz only calls Camila and Eda ‘mama.’ When she first calls Eda mama Eda just chuckles and goes with it - “Yeah, I’m Mama, kiddo” Eda would say as she placed a kiss on Luz’s forehead. However, there’s one more person that Luz gives a parental title and that’s Raine. It was during one of those soft rainy days of Raine babysitting her, and Luz just looks up at them and whispers, “Noni ?” Which is a non-binary term for non-binary parents ! Raine straight up starts sobbing from it. The happy kind of sobbing as Luz lazily rests on their chest. “I’m Noni ?” Raine would hiccup between sniffles as Luz nods happily at them, “Noooniii !” Raine just spends the rest of the evening telling Luz how special she is and how much she means to them - and promptly the rest of the night on the phone with Eda crying about how happy they were <3

- Regressed Luz is always covered in markers ! Her hands and face are just covered in washable markers. How she manages to do this without fail ?? She’ll never tell. Girl will be rowdy and can handle a couple of scratches too ! Luz also babbles at her caregivers in Spanish purely to confuse them. Their reactions are priceless to her ! The only person she can’t do this to is Camila - that won’t stop her from trying !

- Luz has a habit of stealing her caregivers’ clothes. Eda’s & Camila’s sweaters ? Gone. Amity & Willow’s hair ties ? Gone. Raine’s blouses ? Also gone. Darius’ cloak ? That’s Luz’s blanket now ( Or rather her and Hunter’s - mainly Hunter’s blanket though <3 )

- When Luz first came to the Boiling Isles the only close family she had was her mother. Now she has a new found family that loves her and Camila unconditionally ! <3
