8 years ago today, I married my best friend in the jungles of Costa Rica! ♥️ A truly magical experience that was totally spontaneous! We had been traveling with our rings and whenever we were called, we would do a ceremony. Well it just so happened that the night we arrived in Costa Rica, we were chatting with the bartender at the eco-lodge we were staying at and we asked him if he knew a shaman who could perform a marriage ceremony. He recommended us to ask Chayu Chayu whose village is on the property of an adventure company. At first, the adventure company said they don't do weddings. Then they said Chayu Chayu doesn't do ceremonies for anyone who is non-indigenous. But we asked that they call him in his village, and he magically said yes. This was the first non-indigenous ceremony he has ever performed, and it was performed in his indigenous language, translated to Spanish, and then translated to English. Aaaaand, we zip lined for 3 hours to get to his village. Needless to say, our life has been a magical adventure just like our marriage ceremony...and I'm looking forward to all of the magical adventures that lie ahead of us!
