A sunrise witnessed from 4000m (approx 13000ft) a.s.l. at Chandrashila, near Tungnath earlier today. The sun made its way through the clouds accompanied by a gust of chilling air. What followed was the lifting of the clouds in the north to reveal the Yamunotri-Gangotri-Kedarnath peaks and the Chaukhamba massif (all to the left of this pic). And then, as if to compensate for the cloud cover, out came the tiny rainbow (top left). Also, prayer flags and a cairn. Jai Tungnath; Om-Mani-Padme-Hum. . #uttakhand #euttaranchal #garhwal #gmvn #chopta #tungnath #chandrashila #trek #sunrise #himalayas #mountain #peaks #rainbow #prayerflags #cairns #ommanipadmehum #travel #adventure #hikes #himalayantreks #kponthego (at Chandrashila Temple)

The Omkareshwar Temple of Ukhimath, Uttarakhand. The temple is known as the winter-seat of Kedarnath. The white building behind the temple houses the Panch-Kedar and Pandav shrines. The bridge on the river Sainj. Sainj is a tributary to the Beas, flowing aggressively through a valley it has carved on its own. The valley has been defaced by power projects downstream, but it still maintains its beauty upstream near the Great Himalayan National Park. The bridge marks the fork to the beautiful meadow of Shangarh. . Mandawa is a treasure trove for people looking for unique frescoes of Shekhawati. Most of the Havelis are not in their best shape, but this one is an exception. The Radhika Haveli has been restored quite well and now functions as a hotel. .
