Map Night: Honoring Avatar: Book 2 of 2

It was the wifey (@luc1d17y-ffxiv) who suggested the two of us go as Zuko and Azula, and also helped supply my Azula glam. This of course warranted a solo gpose session with Astraex and Z'itlalli. Here's the best of what we did. Enjoy!

Map Night: Honoring Avatar: Book 1 of 2 (Not the live-action movie though. We don't talk about THAT one. >.>)

With the Netflix release of the live-action Avatar TV series, our FC decided to honor Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra by having it as our theme for our map night. I got so excited, I made each of my favorite jobs a bender. We also got a final room, and a friend came as perhaps the most ICONIC Avatar character in the entire series. Check them out below!

Much like Avatar: The Last Airbender, we too lacked some Air Nomads... but we have the Cabbage Guy!

(I love this. It looks like she just brained him.)

Wish I was able to get a better picture of this, but guys... he had the minion to go with it, and traded us heads of cabbage. He won map night.

Wifey (@luc1d17y-ffxiv) and I were waiting around in Ul'dah for our roulette to pop. Wifey is a... one-of-a-kind... samurai.

Also, ninja is the last job in the entire game I need to get up to level 90. Let's goooooooooooooo!

For Ala Mhigo

(Probable Stormblood Spoilers)

My personal head canon for Z'itlalli was that she and her part of the Z Tribe are from Ala Mhigo, specifically just south of Ala Ghiri in the Peaks. She was born right after the Empire invaded, so she never got to experience a free Ala Mhigo. Her Tribe managed to avoid most Imperial engagements, but it was inevitable. She lost her grandparents and her mother to the Imperials soon after the birth of her only brother. She was raised by her father and her aunts.

When Lalli was around 17/18 years old, the Imperials found where her Tribe had been hiding and attacked. Separated and suffering from a serious headwound, she stumbled around Ala Mhigo for days before collapsing somewhere near the boarder of the Black Shroud. She was eventually found by Twin Adder soldiers, and taken to Quarry Mill for treatment. Lacking a memory of Ala Mhigo, her Tribe, and most of her short life, she decided to take up adventuring make some coin, and that's when she found herself on a carriage heading to Gridania with the twins.

Memory loss is probably a bit of a cop out, but it's how I explain her having no knowledge of Ala Mhigo and its people until the events of Stormblood when the Echo began to reveal to her bits and pieces of her past. Some of her Tribe remains near Ala Ghiri, but her close family resides in Rhaglr's Reach where they're an active part of the Resistance. She had family that were both in the First of Rhalgr and some that were practicing Red Mages, which is why she has found herself being drawn to the two disciplines.

Found My Tank!

Lalli is primarily RDM/MNK, but on occasion will happily pick up some nouliths and go as SGE or a bow and go BRD. After finally maxing out every tank class, she's decided to pick up the axe.

A special thank you goes out to my wifey, @luc1d17y-ffxiv for making the fending gear for Lalli and running all those roulettes to get the tomestones to augment it.

Map Night: Quick Valentines

Obligatory use of /heart. I know I'm not the first, and I definitely won't be the last. We did a quick Valentine's themed treasure map night with a friend's FC on Friday. Two final rooms, and we all officially have the Tacky Christmas Elephant mount!

As you can see, the friends we switched out in the middle of the night need to get going on this holiday event.

Map Night: Royalty

Our FC's theme for this map night was royalty. I had the idea of an Ala Mhigan royal outfit, but inspiration didn't strike me until after we were finished. I wanted to include it since my headcanon is that Lalli and her part of the Z Tribe are originally from The Peaks, near Ala Ghiri.

Doesn't she look FRIGGIN' ADORABLE?! *Ahem* Obligatory "standard" royalty picture. I didn't have the gloves, popped into the raid an hour before work, and they dropped from Menphina. I rolled a 99. It was meant to be.

The glam she wound up wearing for the night. A little nerdy, a little royal. I was pleased with it.

No final room this time though... so no group picture.

This is pure poetry. I love my WoL. I love this game.

One of my favorite details about Warrior of Light is how side character will see us fight a Primal and be both awe struck and terrified of us. Like they can't tell which one of us is the real monster out there on the battlefield. The Warrior of Light keeps Lolorito up at night, the Holy See would rather open its gate to the exiled Scions than to spurn the Warrior of Light, better to keep them clearly in direct line of vision and then send them out on a suicide mission to parley with Dragons than let them stay cooped up in Ishgard and constantly a threat, Ysayle is genuinely at lost for words after we fight Ravana saying she hasn't seen us fight like that since she and her fought and despite just being defeated by Ravana, she seems more afraid of us than she is of still being in ambush distance of the One Mind, Elidibus doesn't truly comprehend our power and after we activate the Crystal of Azem, he genuinely falters and asks who we are, Thordan sees us as a terror beyond terrors, his death not being a peaceful one as we are warped from his perspective, Fandaniel chooses Zenos and us to antagonize genuinely because we are literally the only thing on Eitheirys that could guarantee that Zodiark was vanquished and the Final Days unleashed, Ryne is drawn to us for a reason beyond any sense she knows at first much like her she can sense the powerful light like that of Warden and needs to know more of it, and the only ones who outgambit us (Ilberd, Fandaniel, Emet-Selch and Zenos) are not in their right mind to begin with in dealing with us. And then again, all they can really do is STALL us as we are a single person siege engine cutting through waves of soldiers, the Garleans despise us and yet also respect us for what we did in the Praetorium, Zenos is truly in awe of us and calls us Champion of the Savages in reverence. Very few who meet us at first are gladened by our arrival, some are genuinely nervous and unsure when they meet us for the first time. If they do not hear tales of our gentler side from those who know us best.

The Warrior of Light is a beacon of hope but also a power not to be trifled with lightly and its kind of amazing how they write us.

Wedding: See you, Inspector...

No normal glam map night for us! Our good friends Cookie Sasquatch and Wildrin Cross tied the knot for glamours and the mount and invited the FC and friends along for the ride. Here are some choice screen shots and an *AMAZING* video of us all dancing at the end. I'm sure you can gather what the theme for the wedding was...

Map Night: Cute or Dapper

Nothing particular fancy for tonight's treasure maps. We almost forgot a theme before the coordinator suggested 'cute or dapper.' Busy doing a Frontline, I threw the Songbird set on Lalli and called it good. But! We did get two final rooms, AND a silver! Pictures of proof down below!

Map Night: Level 1 Glams!

Tonight for our FC's treasure maps the theme was Level 1 Glams. I absolutely could not resist going as a monk in a wedding dress. Lalli hid her weapons and beat up SO MANY VEGETABLES with her fists and fancy boots.

Lalli also got a bit of a makeover. I'm in love with it and had to play with some of the light in mine and the wifey's (@luc1d17y-ffxiv) FC chambers. Our FC house is on the Primal - Exodus, Empyerum 5th Ward, Plot 60 if you want to come check out the rooms. Lalli's private chamber (which might be a shrine to G'raha Tia) is Room #006, and Astraex's gorgeous room is #007.

Happy New Year!

I could say something meaningful and profound about change and celebration and transformation coming into the new year... buuut no. These are simply some gposes I did to celebrate the new year while waiting in queue with the wifey (who will make a cameo in the last picture!) I've been recovering from my first ever bout of COVID, so I don't really have the brain power for anything more than just... Here's Lalli! She looks pretty! :3

I'm considering learning how to do crimes for my New Years Resolution...

Right Place, Right Time

Do you ever happen upon the right place, at the right time, in the right weather, in the right outfit... and just have to stop and gpose? I couldn't have asked for this to come out better.

Here's another one I took a bit earlier, but I'm not as enamored with it as I am the first one.

Lalli and I will squish the kitty all day, every day. I love him so much! 😭

Huggability Propaganda Collection: G'raha Tia

Just look at that depressed manlet. He's so happy to see the WOL and too stupid to think communication is a good idea. He needs a gentle smack and a giant hug. (note: this was specific to G'raha as the Crystal Exarch)

This man has lived through TWO APOCALYPSES and was willing to sacrifice himself so that WoL, everybody on the Source *and* everybody on the First would live as well. He's probably touch-starved. He hid his face and identity for like, an entire century. He's gone through SO MUCH just trying to have a happy ending. He needs hugs and he needs many.

Squish! That! Cat!

Crown of the Immaculate and all the stuff after it where they disclose everything he's done to try and save the WoL. Like the world too but the WoL most of all. Also the cutscenes post-Seat of Sacrifice.

I know it's technically G'raha but the Exarch deserves all the hugs and more, poor little one hundred years old meow meow (also specifically about the Crystal Exarch)

The G'raha essay

This is too beautiful to not share. It needs more likes and reblogs.

Emet-Selch loved his friends so much that when Azem didn't return and Hythlodaeus left him behind, this man went on a thousand, thousand lifetime crusade to get them back and the moment he even had a fraction of Azem in front of it, he threw the entirety of the Ascian's plan out of the window and put his backing behind the Warrior of Light. Despite his heeming and hawing on Mt. Gulg about how were such a disappointment and he would of just killed us anyway, dude straight up STILL tells us where to find him and offers an invitation that will DEFINITELY put us into contact with the Shade of Hythlodaeus. And the man had some of THE BEST Soulsight ever, if Hythlodaeus could make out Ardbert's shade so could Emet-Selch. Emet-Selch could of stopped us from fusing and curing us of the light poisoning but he didn't. In fact, he didn't know what would happen and his mask slips a bit when he sees the shade of Azem for the first time since Azem abandoned the Convocation over their plan to sacrifice to summon Zodiark. Its like if you caught a glimpse of a dead family member or a friend in a crowd of people while out and about. But when you turn them around they're just someone who looks and acts similarly. Its no wonder Emet shouted in disbelief of Azem's appearance before realizing that it wasn't their full return, they are still fragmented and beyond their reach. "Just, a trick of the light...you are nothing but a broken husk!" He convinces himself and does battle with us and when we are the victor after he throws his all at us, he gives us the memory of his people. OUR people. And fades away. All the destruction he caused through all the shards calamitied into the Source and the people of Eorzea as the founding emperor of Garlemald are inobtainable. At this point, there is no getting vengeance to our characters for the Ascian's machinations. Ishikawa closes off the path of razing Garlemald to the ground and opens up the path to save Emet's remaining people instead. It is not a perfect solution but it is the one she put forth. And so we're told to remember that the Amaurotines once lived and fades away leaving the task of Elidibus to the Shade of Hythlodaeus handing off our birthright and us to sort out once and for all. And as if, we could think he holds any negative emotions towards us personally and it wasn't just bluster? He WILLINGLY joins Hythlodaeus in being summoned to Ultima Thule. He makes it clear, he doesn't regret any of his actions. I mean...why would he? At long last, at journey's end. He is united with Azem and Hythlodaeus to bring forth hope and open a path for us to defeat Meteion's despair once and for all. And he could of just told us his ideals were invincible but he instead offers us paths to the future, places to visit, people to see. Let us travel as Azem once did. The last remaining seat of the Convocation to shepherd the star before he drifts back to the aetherial sea. One last time, he cranes his neck and offers us his sincerest smile to see us off on our next adventure.

Map Night: Holiday Finery

Another Monday, another treasure map night with the Free Company! Today's theme was 'Wintry/Holiday Finery.' So, sort of like last week, but less 'Ho ho ho's'. The first few shots here were taken around the Empyreum where Z'itlalli calls home.

I honestly love this little one with the snowball. She looks so happy! <3

The next few were taken at our wifey Astraex's alt's FC apartment that was inspired by ugly Christmas sweaters. She did such a great job with this place. It gave plenty of places for great holiday-related poses. (Apartment can be found at: Primal: Exodus, Empyreum, Ward 5, Plot 60, Room 13.)
