It is almost as if the world is telling us a morbid joke: we will kill you if you resist and kill you if you hide, and if you refuse, and if you concede, and we will devour your land and gulp your oceans and kill you with hunger and thirst.  The massacres will be televised, broadcast in broad daylight. Our judges will legalize them. Our politicians, inert, inept, or complicit, will fund them then feign sympathy, if any. Our academics will stand idle—that is, until the dust settles, then they will write books about what should have been. Their rotten institutions will commemorate us after our death.  And the vultures, even from our midst, will tour museums glorifying, romanticizing what they once condemned, what they did not deign to defend—our resistance—mystifying it, depoliticizing it, commercializing it. The vultures will make sculptures out of our flesh. A morbid joke, but I am not amused.

award-winning palestinian children's illustrator baraa awoor writes:
Tumblr media
"what use is it to be an illustrator of children's books when the world has sentenced the children of your country to the death penalty, to vanish, to genocide?"
some of baraa's illustrations:

this is an illustration for youssef, whose mother is remembered running desperately into the hospital asking if anyone had seen a "small white boy with beautiful curly hair, his name is youssef," a description which was remembered by millions when she finally identified his body:

this illustration is for young omar, who was hugging his little brother and teaching him how to repeat the shahada after him (a prayer spoken by muslims before their death) as he lay on his hospital bed:
Tumblr media
"we want a new year that doesn't kill us or our children, we want it a year without blood, without screaming, without pain, we want a new attempt to get our lives back, or something that resembled our life, even if life is a lie we still cling to it, return life to us—a new year's card unlike any other year:"

I want to give a moment of appreciation for something my partner said while we were having sex. A French song was playing and They told me "the song talks about ~wanting to dissappear in your arms~ but that really is the opposite of what's happening right now". It made me laugh so much.
Yesterday was the first time I celebrated Valentines Day with someone and we went to the arcade and then later They fisted me. Such a great date.

I hate doing discourse (and am very bad at not saying something lol) but I'm actually mad at a lot of the people in the notes of this. The idea that being monogamous as a teenager is fine but being poly is inherently a "more adult decision to make" just reminds me of everyone who thinks being straight or cis is fine at any age but being gay or trans is for adults only.
Also even though I'm obviously aware that in the world monogamy is normal in my personal life polyamory has always been the normal way people are dating. I very rarely come across monogamous people IRL. I know this is a very specific social bubble I'm in but every time I hear about monogamous relationship drama I'm so happy to never have been a part of that.

I think that I can confidently say that I'm the only person who during a BDSM scene was psychologically tortured by a voice recording of their partner reading bad Lex discourse playing on a loop for over two hours

19 was an interesting year for me. Got into actually doing BDSM, went to dungeons for the first time and had my first play partner. Did harder party drugs for the first time (coke, mdma) and immediately had a crisis of self image about it. Was on Craigslist a lot, did the to this day only sex work I've done (Dommed a foot fetish guy and did nude photography for a porn site) (although now at 26 I'm finally about to make my own porn film (it's a BDSM Vampire blood play porn musical I'm making with my partner and I'm very excited about it)). Was quite careless with the Craigslist stuff at least once (the house party that I got paid to go to that I did drugs at) ( had a great time but there's so many ways that could have gone wrong). Started going to drag shows. Went to the same one every week but still had too much anxiety to talk to and actually get to know people. I know I ended 19 still feeling very lonely and not really having close friends. Started a job I ended up doing for nearly two years and that I absolutely hated. Was in the middle of trying to figure out my gender stuff. I do wish I would have kept a journal.
do you have any words of advice to someone who just turned 19
download an e-reader app & get comfortable existing within uncertainty & if it's not love don't force it & keep a journal & don't be afraid to disappoint your parents & eat something green every day

Had a big "are the straights okay??" moment earlier. I was leaving my aunts place to go to a club and she asked me what my partner is doing and I told her They're working and then she asked if They're okay with me going out... Like... A relationship isn't a prison.

So some good news.
The WFP is actually reaching Ghazzawis for food distribution and has even helped Ghazzan bakeries in Deir Al Balah and Rafah reopen by providing flour, yeast, water, etc... according to Palestinian journalist Hind Khoudary (this was on her story the other day so I can't link it).
The PCRF is also active in Ghazzah, providing medicine and even food to Ghazzawis in shelters.
Today, I ask each one of you to donate at least one dollar to both of these organisations, and more if you can spare it.
