Ok so another au idea but story barely changes because this post focuses on Todd. I had small conversation with someone in one of my post made my brain go explode and remember the small scenarios I have with my own nice Todd and it made me giggle cause of the friendship.
In this au, Todd's relationship with Ballister started rough because the boy is insensitive and doesn't realize it.
He was always left confused as to why Ballister seemed so mad everytime they run into each other until Ambrosius (they're friends here) tells Todd about his problem of being rude to others without realizing it.
Upon knowing this Todd feels guilty and plans to apologize to Ballister, before also realizing that he must have done the same thing to Ambrosius a couple of times as well, so apologized to Ambrosius before looking for Ballister (Ambrosius helped him apologize to Ballister).
From then on, Ballister had two best friends who protects him from the bullying and the hate.
Todd developed a crush on Ballister, but soon discovers later that Ambrosius has a crush on Ballister as well. They would have become rivals if Ambrosius didn't share the fact that he(Ambrosius) had been crushing on Ballister before the three of them became best friends.
Todd felt bad knowing that Ambrosius had hid his feelings for so long while he just developed it recently, so he gave up and helped Ambrosius instead.
Cut to Todd's terrible wingman skills whenever Ballister is around. It always results into Ambrosius glaring at him while Todd just smiles and gives him a thumbs up.
Ambrosius: *whispering* "wuh- Todd! what are you doing?!?"
Todd: *whispering back* "trying to get you alone with Ballister!"
Ambrosius:*whispers angrily* "WITH A RUBBER CHICKEN AND A SANDWHICH?!?"
Surprisingly it works and Ambrosius has no idea why but he'll think about that later, and he'll also thank Todd about it.
At some point, Todd tells Ambrosius that he also had a crush on Ballister but gave it up so Ambrosius could have Bal instead. Made Ambrosius feel bad but Todd reassures him that its fine, and that it would hurt Ambrosius more if he(Todd) would end up with Ballister when Ambrosius had been crushing on him for years.
Soon Ambrosius and Ballister made it official, which made Todd happy for them. Despite the change of relationship, the trio stayed close and would always include Todd.
Except for date nights of course.
As a result, Todd became their child. Always keeping an eye on him and making sure that Todd doesn't accidentally insult someone without realizing it was an insult and to translate what Todd meant to others.
Ambrosius and Ballister would say "mean word/s" to let Todd know. And Todd would correct himself.
Will also add that Todd has the habit to just not continue or pause when he speaks because he assumes that others know what he is talking about, so Ballister and Ambrosius has to always give him a sign to let him know he needs to explain more.
No idea how the story would go in this version because I only focused on the silly Todd moments. Have two scenes that I thought of:
Knighting ceremony
Ambrosius helped Ballister into his armor, adjusting his shoulder pads in place to secure it. Ballister turned around, smiling at him as if to tell him thank you from his smile. Ballister was about to speak when suddenly an arm was placed over his shoulder which a bit of force which took him and Ambrosius by surprise.
"Hey Ballister, I know things were really tough for you back then, and I really thought you don't belong here." Todd finishes and lightly punched Ballister's shoulder. They were silent for a moment, expecting Todd to continue but didn't.
"And?"
"And what? You proved me wrong and now you're going to be a knight." Todd answers , feeling confused before realizing why both of them seem to look like they were anticipating something.
"Oh, did I do it again? Sorry." Todd apologized, taking his arm off of Ballister before moving to rub the back of his neck sheepishly.
"No worries. it's all right" Ballister reassured him with a smile.
Punchable face
"I don't need a si-"
"Every villain needs a sidekick"
"I'm not a villain-"
"WOAH! sick murder wall!" Nimona exclaims, excitedly hoping over to the said wall with pictures of people and evidence.
"Are these your next targets?"
"What?"
"Who do you want to kill first?" Nimona asks, tapping her fingers together in a sinister way. Her eyes dart around the pictures on the wall before settling on the picture of Todd with a smug smile on his face. She gasps before pointing towards it.
"THIS ONE! This one looks extremely punchable!" Nimona clenched her fist with an excited grin as she pictures herself beating the punchable guy.
"Don't say that! He's actually really nice!" Ballister said, clearly offended about what she said about Todd. "Well, he can be insensitive but he's just not aware of it sometimes- wait no- GAH, THAT IS NOT A MURDER WALL!"
This is what's happening in Gaza right now. Bombing the strip and focusing on the south 24/7. It's worse than before. Injuries and deaths among kids. The world should see this, even if you can't bear to look, everybody should know the lengths israel goes to, how limitless Netanyahu's evil is. Israel vs children. This has to stop, we need to do more. We can't let this continue! Free Palestine and stop the genocide! These are humans!!! These are real people going through this!!!

More info on design and story under the cut. :)) and disclaimer, most of their stories are ones I completely made up cause I didn’t wanna butcher some old story and I couldn’t find ones that neatly fit so this also counts as original story time, I guess.
Ballister Blackheart- the next Belladonna Blackheart from the tale The Poisoned Princess.
Starting with the Boss, Ballister Blackheart is a rebel with a royally complicated past.
His mother was a villain who dutifully fulfilled her destiny despite her reservations against it, but when running away from the royal guards as the story goes, she accidentally took a wrong turn in the enchanted forest and was never seen again. With only a Baby Bal who bore her striking resemblance found from the long chase.
Queen Valerin Suremeyer, his mother’s cousin and ‘nemesis’ felt guilty at the boy’s situation and determines to raise him alongside her daughter, Meredith Suremeyer.
So Bal grows up with Valerin as a mother figure, Meredith as a lab partner and sibling, and enters his second year of Ever After High confused and conflicted on what he must do to fulfill his destiny, or if he even wants to fulfill his destiny at all. It doesn’t help when he rooms with the cute golden royal and befriends the strange pink transfer student.

Ambrosius Goldenlion- the next Gloreth Goldenlion in the tale The Lion Wall
Ambrosius is the grandson of the acclaimed Gloreth Goldenlion, guardian of the Lion Wall and protector of her kingdom’s borders. She was also known to have banished an evil monster that was threatening the entire Fairytale World.
Despite living with her, Ambrosius is distant with her and has a complicated relationship with his grandmother who trained and raised him. Does he want to be her? Or is his heart secretly pushing him towards a different destiny?
He is closed off other people with his charming smile and tendency to not answer any questions about his wellbeing. Everybody knows of him, but like the walls he is destined to guard, his inner thoughts are impenetrable. Unless, of course, you are his cute rebel roommate with a penchant for engineering and a hidden talent in swordfighting.

Nimona Shifter
Exchange student from Monster High
Scaritage: ???
Nimona awoke to find himself in New Salim without any memories. After being chased by a mob, rejected by the animals, and hiding in old libraries pouring over stories that felt oddly familiar, they finds themself in Monster High under the care of Headmistress Bloodgood. In her studies, she learns to socialize with others, push her powers to limits, and embrace her freaky flaws. Hearing the adventures of stories of the other students from places near and far, and her constant fascination with fairytales, she becomes an enthusiastic 1st year candidate for the exchange program for Ever After High, along with C.A. Cupid.
They rooms with Meredith Suremeyer, an eccentric scientist from one of her favorite stories, The Poisoned Princess, and soon befriends both her and her brother, Ballister Blackheart. She avoids Ambrosius Goldenlion, feeling a strange sense of familiarity from him every time he smiles and bites into an apple.
Still, he feels ecstatic at all the secrets that are waiting to be explored on the new campus, and a certain underground librarian more than willing to help him unlock them.

If the long hair surprised you, that’s because all three of them are going to have it rough after Legacy Day, and what better way to deal with stress than chopping off your hair?
Nimona Headcanons that just popped into my head and won’t leave me alone
Nimona, being both young and old at the same time but preferring to present as young, sometimes bullies Bal to ‘respect his elders’.
Bal, having had enough of this, once replied with ‘what’s there to respect?’
Nimona reacted like one of those offended pets that gasp when you repeat what they do to them like you committed some kind of taboo.
Neither of them talk about that event, but they also agree not to tell Ambrosius about it.
After their relationship starts evolving into ‘tolerable friend-in-law’ Ambs and Nimona would share tips on styling hair.
Most of those tips involve taking care of long hair, since Ambrosius was forbidden from growing his luscious locks out.
“Wait, how do you know all this? Your hair is even shorter than mine?” “Shhh, I had a phase- I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Ambrosius tries to get Bal to grow out his hair again too, but Bal saw all the products Ambs uses to get his nice and silky and thought ‘yeah, no thanks, the effort ain’t for me’
But the irony is that his hair would flow like a majestic nymph with just coconut oil, prayers, and genetics. (-Pavitr Prabhakar, Across the Spiderverse)
On the other hand, Bal and Nimona would start bonding over makeup.
Makeup wasn’t allowed for knights in the institute, but Bal always thought it looked pretty and wanted to try some on.
Nimona acted like those makeup gurus during the start, and now it’s a running joke between them to hold non-makeup objects like they were introducing a makeup brand.
It goes without saying that Bal rocks a smoky eye and dark lipstick, but he also sometimes wears some very vibrant pink eyeshadow and gloss while Nimona rocks the dark makeup.
It goes without saying that Bal with makeup on made Ambrosius feel a little hot under the collar.
It goes without less that Diego the squire fainted from a nosebleed when he saw Bal wear makeup.
I do want to say re:food appropriation, for Palestinians it is a very very very sensitive issue. I don't know a single Palestinian who doesn't react vehemently to calling food "Israeli." One, because you have to recognize that this is within a larger pattern of completely erasing Palestinian identity, and two, because food is an essential core part of culture, where historical, familial instruction should be acknowledged.
I find it incredibly.... insulting to say "well food can be exchanged between cultures and people, so what's the big idea?" and neglect the fact that even within the Levant, there is a diverse array of cooking styles. To call certain dishes "Israeli" especially within the context of how the state of Israel was established, plays into the erasure of Palestinians.
It's often necessary to attribute the food we eat to specific cultures. For example, I, a Palestinian, would never claim ownership over Macarona Bil-Bashamil, or Yalenji, because they're "Arab." That's just not how food culture works. Different cultures, different climates, different environments all contribute to the food we eat and the clothes we wear. Food in itself is political because of how heavily it is tied to a location in which things are grown and raised.
Food is what builds community. Women, young and old, pass this knowledge throughout generations. And ESPECIALLY between peasant families that grow and raise the very flora and fauna we rely on in our dishes. This is a professional sort of knowledge that we celebrate and consider incredibly important. To strip our very food of our identity is not only insulting, but negates the centuries worth of food culture we've established in favor of homogenization. So yes, it IS possible to appropriate food, especially when you do not acknowledge the centuries worth of knowledge shared.
we cry "the innocent women and children" to appeal to the masses, to try and force their sympathy, but the men and boys are innocent too.
I have seen sons crying out for their mothers, their fathers, their siblings. I have seen them break down at the loss of their families. I have seen them cling to their dead and grieve.
I have seen fathers cradle their dead children, seen them kiss their faces and hold their little hands. I have seen them faint with grief when asked to identify the dead. I have seen them carry their sons and daughters. I have seen them fasting to provide what little they can for their families.
I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.
I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.
the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.
