I woke up early this morning so I used that time to write a bit of action. Here's a snippet
Energy burst from the spirit as she grew back into her original size, fueled by anger so potent I felt it electrifying the air. This time, her head expanded to half the size of her body and her arms curled and contorted until they resembled talons. My heart raced, threatening to break out of my chest. There was nothing I could do for her like this.Ā
I reached back to open the door, but of course, the doorknob did not exist on this side of the wall. We only uncovered the rune on the other side. Suddenly I felt the pain of a blade through back of my shoulder. I looked over it, but saw nothing.

Sometimes I feel bad about not being motivated to write, but then I remember I had three exams this week, spent four hours doing job training modules on proper lab animal handling, and am two weeks out from finals. If I've learned anything from those 29 goddamn modules, it's that animals under stress try to conserve energy, and writing takes a lot of energy. My stupid brain doesn't want to do words because it's making space to watch for imaginary wolves

They do get caught. As my main character learns more about the āplague outbreakā she realizes it doesnāt make sense and only murder does. As for finding out whoās doing it, one of them confesses to her because sheās afraid of the rest.

Ok so it started when one person went on a murderous rampage then decided she wanted to screw up the whole world so she claimed everyone who died in her rampage was a victim of a plague outbreak. For the next century, she convinced a group of people to poison other people to keep up the plague facade and create a state of confusion and fear. These people agreed to do it because they wanted to be more powerful and slowly weakening your country by killing people off and being the only people to know the actual cause of death is pretty powerful.

What's the first time you rebelled in your life against the society and its expectations?
āWhen havenāt I? Other witches tried to wipe out my clan, but we persisted. I love my life every day, so Iām always rebelling.ā
What is something you miss the most from your childhood?
āI miss the smell of the ocean. Some say itās revolting but I think it smells like home.ā
What's your biggest regret in life so far?
āKeeping secrets my friends. I love them and I want them to understand me, but I canāt undo centuries of secrets for my own selfishness.ā

I have chosen Robertas from the Tales of Oak and Lightning for this one. I don't get to talk about him a lot, and he deserves a lot of love. He's one of my warm-hearted characters, and I always love enjoy writing any scene with him in it.
My questions are:
1. What tempts you?
2. What environment would you/do you tend to thrive in?
3. What is your most closely-held belief?

What tempts you?
"I like to see the positive light in everything. I feel like lots of people choose to see mostly negativity everywhere, and sometimes, you've got to be the one who lights up the torch in people's hearts. I always wanted to heal people since I was a kid. I enjoyed making a warm compress and placing it on my mom's head whenever she complained of a headache, and playing pretend doctor with her.
But I always wanted to know the deeper meaning of life. I feel like there's so much more to it than what I have seen so far. Occasionally, I hear a voice in my head cautioning me to avoid the woods before they consume me entirely. Yet, I can't have enough of them."
What environment would you/do you tend to thrive in?
"I thrive the most in the places where I am around the people I love the most. I pour love into everything I do, and my brothers say Iām guided by my heart, not my head. But it is true. If I were unable to feel love, I probably would have trouble getting up from the bed.
Before we had to move again, I liked working in the hospital and being able to take care of my patients. I loved spending hours talking to the elderly people, and listening to the stories from their youth. It was always a delight to bring home the postcards that the kids would draw of me, making me look all funny and quirky."
What is your most closely-held belief?
"Family is everything."

What was the first part of your wip that you created?
I actually created a lot before I started writing because I never thought I'd accomplish writing a book. It's murky since I didn't document anything for around a year, but I'm pretty sure I created the clans first.
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
I made a post about this not too long ago. It'd definitely be Daughter by Beyonce
3. Who are your favorite characters you've made? Why?
I have two different answers. My favorite in terms of craft is Daron. I think she's a really unique character and I'm impressed that I'm managing to pull off her personality. My favorite in terms of likability is Aria. She's sassy and really fun.
4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
I hate to say this but My Little Pony.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Making it make sense. I have a lot of different concepts and sometimes I forget them or struggle trying not to overstuff my work.
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
Yes! Aria has a wolf. It follows her everywhere and terrorizes people at her command. Daron also forms a bond with a horse.
7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?
I'm editing chapter 20.
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
Maybe magic schools and found family.
10. What are your hopes for your wip?
I hope it'll get people talking. I'd love to see discourse about theories or little details I included the way I see for books like ACOTAR.

I started from the beginning of the first chapter.

Where I Sleep by Emeli Sande.
3. Who are your favorite characters you've made? Why?
Yejin is my favorite. It's so fun to write and read her passive aggressiveness, even if she is insane.
4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
Probably The Hate U Give.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Honestly, just writing it. I work so much on my other wip that I haven't had time to write much for this one.

Sadly, there are no animals.
7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
My main character drives.
8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?
I don't even know. After I started at the beginning, I started writing random scenes from all over the story. I don't have chapters yet or any other sort of structure. I'm somewhere within the first draft, if you can call it that at this point.
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
The useless police.
10. What are your hopes for your wip?
I hope it'll create a change. I bring up several different types of racism and show their impacts. I hope reading about it will make people acknowledge its existence and try to change the system.
