Not the sort of real world thing I would usually post but today is a really hard day and I need to share my sadness.
Very very sad to say we had to say goodbye to Beau last night. We believe he must have been hit by a car but he managed to come home and he died in my arms. Canāt believe he is gone, the cat I dreamed of for years my first āofficialā pet with my name on his paperwork. I hope it didnāt hurt too much my sweet boy, and that you know you were loved to the very end. Coorie (our golden lab) will be waiting for you on the other side, delighted to have her friend back.
We will miss you so much Beaufy puss. š„

Wow! You put a lot of thought into this! I donāt think I explained myself well in my first post, I have read all of Natās solo comics and actually all of the Captain America comics youāve mentioned. I think the only ones I havenāt read are the 2014 and 2018 winter soldier books and the Falcon and the Winter soldier one. I have probably read more than I give myself credit for but I donāt keep track very well lol.
I am also one of the few that really liked the 2020 widow runā¦ I think it was full of a lot of character-based pain and had/has potential but Iāve gone into that already lol (look at my previous reblog)
But thank you so much for breaking this all down itās actually a really helpful list regardless of what I have already read
I reblogged this as part of a thread on peopleās thoughts coming off the Thunderbolts mini comic run but Iāve decided to post it on its own as well. Iām actually not sure how much of this even seems relevant to the original conversationā¦ but I wanted to chime in on the topic as someone who is a reasonably new comic reader.
Tbh I actually still find myself struggling a bit to keep up with writers and story arcs in my head (couldnāt work out what SoL was until right now - sentinel of liberty, right?)
BUT so far I have pretty much exclusively read black widow comics or issues she features in. (I discovered that on the marvel comics website you can search by character and it will give you every issue they are in - sometimes thatās meant she has one line and I am left wondering why the heck I read a whole comic book for that lol)
Personally I have noticed I donāt pay a lot of attention to who has written an issue, but I know I have my favourites. I actually could pin an artist before a writer- Phil Noto is a god amongst all others - but itās interesting to hear the different thoughts here.
Iāve seen a few posts with people mentioning Natās thought process in the Thunderbolts mini run and my ear pricked up. I LOVE writing fanfic that is based on Natashaās inner thoughts, she is so full of depth. I would definitely think about writing this sort of thing BUT I feel I need to get my source material right in my head.
Basically the tl;dr is this- what should I be reading or re-reading? I think the names and the arcs can make it quite difficult for those getting into comics to understand what they are looking for, and the amount that characters can bounce around between issues and titles makes that even harder. I usually only know what I want to read because tumblr told meā¦

Thank you! Iāve read all of Natās individual comics - I actually liked a lot of the 2020 run but I think I am in the minority lol.
( I keep saying I think the best twist on that story could come in the way Yelena worded her DNA testing- she said Natasha and James, not specifying James Gray and I think that kid could totally make a reappearance in the future when he is growing into his double-dose of the dodgy soviet super soldier serum, possibly causing issues but adding a level to the 2020 story by putting yet more betrayal in and also maybe giving a young avengers offering too. )
I havenāt read the electric ghost I donāt think, or the 2018 mini so I will give both a go and keep searching for more fodder to write with lol.
Also will need to check out Rod Reis too.
You know, it's nice to see that I'm not the only one who felt... uneasy(?) about Buckynat getting back together after a decade š
I mean I'm glad, the war is over (permanently I hope FGS), it's been so long but I DON'T LIKE THAT IT WAS WITH THOSE WRITERS and all the circumstances were... Weird and out of the blue? A bit sudden because in Cold War nothing relevant happened... And in Thunderbolts most of the same imo.
I mean why JUST NOW Nat finally decided to go back to him? I want to know her motivations, her thoughts, she's been through so much since The Widow Hunt and yet we don't really know what she thinks about it all.
And apparently those writers are going to write more stuff about them(?)
Look, I would love for an ongoing (I'm a bit tired of minis) for either Bucky or Nat or both separately, with recurring appearances of them in each other's run, appearing at crucial moments, as a cameo or a mention, so that they can be their own characters and not have to be tied to each other, and the reason I wouldn't want a run of the two of them together is because I think there are really very few writers who could handle them both well at the same time.
And I get the impression that if what it turns out those writers are hinting at is a Nat AND Bucky comic, they will end up using her as just a romantic interest and I don't like it at all.
I think I've already commented that I haven't liked how they've written Bucky since Devil's Reign, which happened 2 years ago and so far they haven't given me a reason to change my opinion, if they haven't been able to give a good writing to Bucky which is supposed to have been their main character, most likely they'll end up doing something worse with Nat ššš
It's as if we can never take a break ššš«
Well, I just wanted to get this off my chest to see if I could finally calm down a bit LMAO
I can only continue to pray for the miracle of Marjorie Liu writing them both because she is my personal favorite and one of the few I think can put them in a good place š«”
