Venice Carnival 2024

Some of the people I was able to capture during the Venice Carnival of 2024. The event takes place in February, I was there in the beginning of the month for a couple of rainy days. Sadly not many people were out during my stay but I would like to thank all the great participants who braved the bad weather and made once again this festival a magical event for me and thousands of other spectators! Close-up of an Arabian Camel. Little baby camel stands near his mom in the middle of the herd. This was a small herd in the Wadi Rum desert also known as the Valley of the Moon, in southern Jordan. Honestly did not expect camels to be this beautiful, weird creatures but beautiful. Personally, I enjoyed the information that camels have a great memory especially if somebody mistreated them. The local guide said that if abused camels could wait years in order to get even with the person that angered them, so basically a camel never forgets and also never forgives! Be careful how you act around these animals and remember to always be respectful! Hope you enjoy the images!

Some images of white storks in the small villages in Burgas region of Bulgaria. The old electric poles in the towns and villages are equipt with a metal platform that these birds use for creating their nest. The birds return every year to the same nest and raise their chicks. White storks building a nest. The storks are mainly white with black edge wings. Their nests are enormous and can reach 9 feet wide or 2 meters. The stork is almost voiceless and can communicate with brief hissing noises and bill clattering. Greek and Romans believed that the storks did not die of old age but flew to islands and then took the appearance of humans. Hope you enjoy the images!

In the past few years, a group of Pink Flamingos started to arrive in the spring in my hometown of Burgas. They lived for the spring and summer in the salt lakes on the outskirts of the city eating small crustaceans. The birds rarely leave the waters so it was challenging to come close and photograph them but I managed to get some shots at sunset. The sun's reflection in the water is reflected from the old communist buildings that are in the background, you can see them in the next few images. A group of Greater Pink flamingos or in Latin Phoenicopterus in the Atanasovsko lake, Burgas region of Bulgaria. The flock of birds are searching for food, in the background Communist era homes and buildings, photographed during sunset with reflection from windows in the water.
