'The Lament for Icarus' So pleased to be able to share my final piece for Classics but make it Gay II. Featuring trans Icarus! 🌈✨ Trans Rights Are Human Rights! #TransWomenAreWomen Hubris and the transition from boyhood to manhood are two of the most common reads for the story of Icarus. I see her wings as a representation of her assigned gender. I wanted viewers to consider the extreme expectations and pressures placed on young Icarus by her father (who builds her wings, but that have strict rules surrounding them) and society (the ocean and the sun that limit where Icarus might fly). When transitioning from boyhood to manhood (leaving the prison she and her father live in), Icarus is told if she flies too low, her wings will get wet in the ocean; if she flies too high, the sun will melt the wax and the wings would disintegrate.
She is told by society and those around her that these are negative things. In my reimagining, Icarus fights through those societal expectations and transitions/falls into a self who is embraced and celebrated by herself and those around her. BONUS: A comparison for my reimagining of 'The Lament for Icarus' by Herbert James Draper.

A reimagining of 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe.
I always felt that Lenore had more to her story than the narrator in The Raven led on; she is not just a footnote in his story. If we wish to continue to have our classics read and interpreted in the modern day we must continue to reinterpret them. So here she has become one with the Ravens and will cease to return to the narrator’s side. Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”
“Eagerly I wished the morrow;— vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow— sorrow for the lost Lenore— For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore— Nameless here for evermore.” Available for purchase on my shop HERE!

"...Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat."
Risograph for the Elden Zine
My first ever Risograph print! Risograph printing is a technique best described as ‘digital screen printing’. The process is similar to screen printing, but with an office copier.
It’s known for its vivid colours (that other printers can’t produce) and its specific textures.
