I'm going to build a comprehensive list of every way that Metal Sonic is trans for you. I am going to refer to him using he/him pronouns for simplicity.

Transmasc:

First off, he is a robot with no sex. There is no definitive way to tell his gender, even by Mobian's loose standards of gender. So, therefore, calling him a "he" is definitively giving him a gender he was not created with; making him, in essence, transmasculine.

Transfem:

Most notably in his Neo Metal Sonic form, he is far more feminine. He gets longer "quills", mirroring longer hair of women and Mobians, and gets what is definitely a skirt. He also gets eyeliner in the form of silver markings by his eyes. This is sufficient enough information to give others a transfem headcanon for specifically Metal's Neo form, however there is evidence for his normal form as well. As said before, he does have no true gender, but there are a few main points of female Mobians that he may have. He has a decidedly stuck out chest; perhaps indicating the larger chest of a female Mobian. I'm going to be honest, there are other points, but I have forgotten them.

Nonbinary:

This one is very basic; He has no true sex, therefore making him genderless, and under the nonbinary umbrella. I would guess that he's likely Agender, due to having no sense of gender like other Mobians do. (That may be me projecting my agenderism into him, though, so take that with a grain of salt.)

Genderfluid:

He is a robot with no gender. So, then, would it not be generally correct to call him genderfluid? He is simultaneously multiple flavors of trans at once, so I'd say that this is a generally pretty accurate label to give to him.

Story : this form got unlocked by Ben after fighting Metal sonic (plot of my crossover serie/Alternative Universe, i need peoples to make the plot better), after absorbing many peoples from the multiverse data, Metal has become even stronger than alien X, hyper sonic, goku mui and superman prime one billion (basically one million but with a blue sun), ben was deseperate, but then, the omnitrix said "new DNA unlocked", then ben turned into this form, he was able to keep up with metal, forcing them to become neo, but then became both metallix form, but steel quil was stronger due to being the prime of his species, so he surpassed metal, then metal absorbed albedo ultimatrix (albedo made a clone of himself with echo echo so metal could take it) then became ultimate metallix, ben then used shockrock DNA to become omni enhanced metallix, ben and metal fighted, but ben took the advantage and beated metal, but metal wasnt finished here, he faked his death then mephiles (who fighted shadow but then teleported to metal) grabbed ben and then metal putted his hands on ben watch to absorb it, but sadly, the failsafe protected ben from the absorbtion, and made free all the aliens, leading the next saga of this serie : omni-escaped

Funfact :

The omni-escaped version of steel quill is called Metallo (because he is white and green)

Ben dont use this form a lot, for the same reasons he dont use alien X a lot

A lot of peoples doesnt like this form nor its omni escaped version due to what metal sonic did in the multiverse

This form cant copy mana, or any kind of magic since it doesnt have any data/DNA

Even without copy, its a pretty physically strong and fast form (fast and strong as the hedgehog mobian form of ben)

Albedo unlocked this form too

At first metal didnt liked these forms or the omni-escapdd version, but after some times, he started to consider them as brothers, some kind of way to show respect for them, even when not transformed, wich can lead to fun situations

Glitch!X!tale (Hate!X!Chara) and X!Sonictale Metal Sonic (also Sonictale Metal Sonic)

Basically X!Chara getting op along with another op chara/metal sonic, basically X!Chara go to a glitchtale alternative timeline then took a hate soul to become like that, then he meet X!Sonictale metal sonic who was stronger than him, unlike Xtale Chara he didnt got hurt by any Sonictale!Sonic or Classic!Sans attack and beated them, he even beated his Sonic (X!Sonictale Sonic), base Xtale chara could beat sans and other AU sanses too (we can see in underverse he wasnt that hurt and was perfectly fine) but he lowered his guard, while X!Sonictale metal sonic didnt had this problems since he has abilities that X!Chara didnt had, like X!Shield, and also was way stronger than Sonictale!Sonic compared to X!Chara and Classic!Sans, but with hate, X chara was too strong for X!Gaster, the only real problem was X!Sonictale!Eggman, but X!Sonictale!Metal Sonic and Hate!X!Chara with both of their efforts beated all of them, they also meeted Sonictale!Sonic and Classic!Sans, but Hate!X!chara one shotted them with X!Sonictale!Metal sonic without effort lmao, they good friends with Classic!Chara, Betty, Sonictale!Metal Sonic, and with Paperjam/Error!Ink!Sans (i will tell paperjam story later, for Sonictale!Metal sonic story just check on deviantart trolololo)

And they also friend with Metal Sonic and Mephiles from Metal Sonic adventure (just an AU of sonic, not a undertale or sonictale AU, to know its story just go watch on my YouTube channel : Metal Sonic 4.1 the robot hedgehog)

Archie Sonic AU : Metal Sonic v3.9/Metallix

Story : after the genesis wave, the archie universe got reboot, but there was still the original timeline existing, the original timeline sonic just wake up with megaman and said goodbye to each others before go back to their worlds, eggman saw the fight of metal sonic 3.8 and bass vs sonic and megaman, he saw that metal was gonna win if megaman didnt used sonic friends powers, so he saw the potential metal has, so he managed all his efforts to find a power gem (will tell how he got it later), he gived the gem to metal, he upgraded metal a lot before give him the gem, metal has become very smart, he decided to not rebel against eggman now, he has a strategy, he planned all the future event of my AU, he planned the sonic unleashed, lost world, generation, forces and idw equivalent for the archie, after archie infinite was beat, he took his phantom ruby to keep it for later, he hided it somewhere, eggman knew nothing of that, in the equivalent of idw but its archie in neo metal sonic saga, eggman gived him the neo form, but he decided to keep it later, he made an illusion of metal with the phantom ruby he stoled, to make them believe they were fighting him and win, but he has other plan, he used his morphic abilities to take sonic appearence to kiss amy (who was sad that sonic was with sally) to reveal himself later, wich broke amy heart more, so she decided to stop comunicate with the others, metal was a great mastermind.... he also remembered shard, who he killed, he didnt regreted very much (a bit because they kinda brothers) but saw that nicole was trying to fix shard, so he manipulated her to find the emeralds to fix shard.... but it was a trick for metal, he decided to test his need strenght on sonic, by taking the old metal sonic (3.8) appearence with his morphic powers, he beated sonic easily, but he still took some scratch and marks, but he wasnt hurt, his gem (based on a srb2 mod and idw gem) had the power to change abilities, speed boost, flight (he already can fly so its useless exept to make a wind protection around him), strenght boost, slow time, become smaller, teleport, electric shield, teleguided attacks, and he also can become neo when he need, then he decided to not only kill sonic, but to rassemble all his friends, ennemies and allies to beat them by his own, to prove how strong he get, but before he decided to fix the eggman robots like, metal tails, tails doll, metal knuckles, metal amy and some shadow android to make them take revenge too, he didnt upgraded them to 3.8 because he didnt wanted them to become a danger if they rebel, so after doing that, he decided to go see scourge, and help him, he saw all scourge potential, he knew that scourge was stronger than sonic, since he beated both shadow and sonic, the only reason he lose was because he didnt have a plan and got tired by using his super forms, so he took the anarchy beryl to use them with the chaos emeralds and master emerald and phantom ruby to see what happend, he will then fight against all sonic ennemies and allies he got, deadly six, infinite, time eater, all sonic friends to only beat them, he showed difficulty against dark sonic and chaos shadow, and super sonic and super shadow were stronger than him.... until he became neo and beat them up, before sonic could become ultra sonic metal then said "i am not metal sonic.... i am metallix.... and now you can call me... NEO METALLIX" then beated all of them, he cutted sonic legs and told him "i wont kill you.... i will humiliate and disable you...." but killed eggman and leaved tails in coma, he leaved everyone almost dead but still alive to make them feel their pain, then he go back to base metallix/metal sonic 3.9 to kill them finally but shard (who got fixed in time) came and teleported them away with chaos control.... metallix had 75% of Mobius under his control, that was the first part of my AU, maybe i will make a comic about it
