Random blurb idea: Thorin seeks out a greatly skilled warrior(? Could be a mage or deity of some kind) to help them in their journey and conflict with Smaug. Reader says no, they are against the quest and jokes ensue about how they're now a peaceful forest dweller, like a deer in a clearing.
"Do you know the difference of peaceful, and harmless?" Your words held a weight to them that made the hairs on the back of Bilbo's neck stand up, and you weren't even directing them at him as you stared at the dwarf you deciphered was the leader amongst them.
"You cannot be peaceful unless you are capable of great violence," your tongue was sharp as the blade resting against your hip, joking atmosphere deceased the moment the words began to slip off your lips. "Without that capability, well you're just a harmless creature."
"So when I say I am peaceful," you locked eyes with the dwarf king, "Thank your gods that I am no longer entertaining such horrific circumstances."
You shook your head, fighting the urge to raise your voice at them. "You blindly seek a path that leads in bloodshed and destruction- and I ask you instead, what is at the end of this path that you deem worth such travesties?"

Hi, I just want to know, do you have any x hobbit reader stories? Because I can't find very many on Tumblr. And you're one of my favorite writers.
My blog is full of them! Unless you mean recommendations for other writers, then I highly recommend @fizzyxcustard , @floral-and-fine , @guardianofrivendell and many others that I can't think off of the top of my head at this moment.
Happy reading!

Not a King to You (Thorin x Fem! Reader)
Tumblr media
AN: Bridgerton scenes have been all over my TikTok recently, so this happened… I’m also about to  be done with school and I’m so excited to have free-time again for writing. I hope you all enjoy!
“Did you not hear me?” Thorin suddenly turned, and for a moment your memories flashed back to his Dragon Sickness, his screaming amidst the gold hoard while you all searched for the Arkenstone.
“I made my order, and I am not going back on it.”
“Thorin, please, you’re being unreasonable,” You urged, pausing in your trail after him, you felt your pulse quicken. His eyes were darkened, and for a moment you felt uneasy as he stared.
“I’ve made my decision, I am the king, I decide.”
“Thorin-”
“I am your king!” Thorin bellowed out, glaring as he leaned forward with his words making you take a step back.
The room grew silent as he stared at you, and for a moment you felt like arguing, arguing that he’s not being himself and that you did not deserve to be spoken to in such a manner. But instead, you took another step back.
“I’m sorry,” Your voice was eerily professional as you clasped your hands in front of you. “I thought you were just…Thorin, to me,” The weight of the crown pressing onto your head was suddenly heavier than ever before. The uneasy feeling in your gut returned, and suddenly you were aware of just how different Thorin felt in this moment. This wasn’t your husband.
“(Y/n) I-”
“My mistake, my King,” You smiled. “Do you need anything else from me, or may I be excused?” You could feel the eyes of the guards on you as embarrassment crawled up the back of your neck. Of course this had to happen in public, being made into a spectacle. No one could deny Thorin’s decision, not even his wife.
“(Y/n),” Thorin was softer now, bodily language shifting as he took a step towards you before stopping.
He took in your body language, the way you leaned back away from him and how your eyes refused to meet his. Gulping down the lump in his throat, Thorin nodded, “You are excused.”
“Thank you, my King.” You bowed your head just slightly enough to show proper professional respect, but not enough for your crown to slide before turning and exiting the hall, lip quivering as soon as your back was turned to him.
“Have a good evening, my King,” were your final words as you disappeared from sight, tears stinging your eyes.
That was the last that you had seen of Thorin, as the moment you left you called upon your handmaids to assist you in moving your things to another suite just down the hall. For days you succeeded in avoiding him, until tonight.
“A letter, from the king,” The messenger said as they passed the envelope to your hands, uneasiness settling in your gut. Divorce papers? You couldn’t help but go to the worst case scenario as you nodded, “Thank you,” You gave a small smile before dismissing the messenger.
Turning to your desk, you carefully opened the envelope, slicing the wax seal with your letter opener.
Eyes drifting over the paper, your brows furrowed. It was an invitation to dinner.
Looking out the window, you realized it was nearly that time. Sighing, you weighed your options. Don’t go, or go and see what Thorin has in store for you.
“If you’re scared, then do it scared,” You recalled your mother’s words, always the one to tell you to do the thing you didn’t want to. Groaning to  yourself you felt the urge to slam your head down on your desk but instead you simply dropped the letter on your desk before calling for your handmaid.
“I kindly request your assistance, I’m needing to dress for dinner.”
-
The dining room was empty when you arrived, making your heart sink. Just like so many dinners scheduled before, Thorin hadn’t shown up.
Glancing towards your usual seat, you noted that two plates of food were already prepared, still steaming. So, the cooks thought he would show.
Rounding the table, you instead chose to wait by the window, staring out over the vast green hills and ridges that led to Dale and eventually, to Laketown.
“Thank you for finding this,” Thorin’s words caught your ears but you didn’t dare move, enjoying tracing the path of the Running River, imagining yourself on a little boat drifting down said river.
“I know this is her favorit- (Y/n),” Thorin paused, breathing out your name as his face brightened with a grin. You showed up.
Being addressed, you internally sighed, turning to acknowledge him.
“Thank you again,” Thorin dismissed the servant before returning his gaze back to your form, the room going silent as his eyes glanced over you from head to toe. It had truly been days since he saw you, during the day being so wrapped up in meetings and ‘urgent’ matters, he hadn’t had a chance to try and reconcile with you sooner.
“Don’t look at me like that,” You broke the silence, looking away and feeling tears sting the back of your eyes again.
“Like what?”
Scoffing, you shook your head, “Like you still love me.”
“(Y/n) please- I’m sorry,” Thorin put the bottle of your favorite spirit down on the table before rounding it to get to you.
“What I said to you was not okay, not in any situation,” He reached out, a flicker of hope dancing in his chest as you didn’t recoil, allowing him to take your hands in his. “I cannot provide an excuse for my actions, nor can I provide a reason for both are dismissive for how much I’ve hurt you.”
“Please look at me,” One of Thorin’s hands released yours in favor of cupping the side of your cheek, the warmth of his hand was the breaking point as a tear finally escaped and trailed down your cheek. Looking up at him, you were surprised to find guilt and anguish at the sight of your tearful face, his thumb gently sweeping over the swell of your cheek to wipe it away.
“I look at you like I love you because I do love you, please don’t ever doubt that.”
“I’m not a king to you, I am Thorin, the blacksmith you met so many years ago.”
“Are you?”
“I am, and I will do whatever it takes to reassure you of that.”
Reaching your hand up you gripped his hand, your breath leaving in a shaky exhale as you shut your eyes. Thorin leaned his head down, pressing his forehead against yours. “If you will let me, that is?”
“Always,” You murmured, briefly opening your eyes before they slipped shut again as Thorin pressed his lips to yours in a soft kiss, the ache from being apart becoming apparent as you relished in his touch.
“Now, let’s eat,” Thorin murmured after pulling away, not wanting to separate from you but knowing you both needed dinner.

🌿 Start with the basics.
What kind of world do you want to create? Is it a medieval fantasy world, a futuristic sci-fi world, or something in between? Once you know the general type of world you want to create, you can start to flesh it out with more details.
🌿 Think about the physical laws of your world.
What are the basic rules of physics that govern this world? Is gravity different? Is there magic? Once you know the physical laws of your world, you can start to create the geography and climate of your world.
🌿 Create a history for your world.
What happened in the past to create the world as it is today? Are there any major wars or events that have shaped the world? The history of your world will help you to create a more believable and immersive setting for your story.
🌿 Develop the culture of your world.
What are the customs and beliefs of the people who live in this world? What is their religion? What are their values? The culture of your world will help to make it feel like a real place, with its own unique identity.
🌿 Add some magic.
If you're creating a fantasy world, don't forget to add some magic! Magic can add a lot of fun and excitement to your world, and it can also be used to solve problems or create challenges for your characters.
🌿 Don't be afraid to experiment.
The most important thing is to have fun and to experiment. There are no rules when it comes to creating a new dimension, so don't be afraid to try new things and see what works.

That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

hey idk if u active but, u see im pretty new to lotr and the hobbit (ik i am late to the party) but i am really in need of some thorin x reader where the reader used to be from a royal family until orcs attacked her palace, as she becomes older she finds Gandalf who invites her to join Thorin's Company-- once in the company she tries to hide her identity since her story in known well in erebor, one day she hears the dwarves telling that story to Bilbo, and Thorin notices the pain in her eyes <3
Welcome to the Fandom! It's never too late and we're happy to have you! I hope you enjoy this:
(A/N: I wrote this without my glasses on, so I do apologize in advance if there are any mistakes)
“You haven’t heard?” Bofur turned to Bilbo with wide eyes. The Company was all gathered around the campfire, sitting around in a circle together as they waited to eat their dinner of a rabbit stew that Bombur was cooking.
“Well us hobbits don’t hear much, unless it’s the stories Gandalf tells us,” It was true, hobbits weren’t known for leaving the comforts of their homeland and the only news they got was through the travelers and merchants that came through their towns. They wouldn’t necessarily call that reliable, though.
“Well…” Bofur looked around, face growing grim as he recalled the story. “The (L/n) family, known for their kindness and democratic policies-” Bofur began explaining how well loved your family was, making you raise a brow. Not often did someone state this part of your history.
“It was a full moon in the middle of winter…” Bofur’s words made you stiff, your body tensing and your eyes suddenly hyper-focused your vision on the dirt near the fire as you realized what story he was about to tell.
“The orcs of the West banded together and entered the kingdom in a secret fashion, doing silent kills of the guards along their way to the castle gates.”
The entire Company grew quiet, all knowing how sad the event was.
“While the royal family was sleeping, they entered the palace.”
Shutting your eyes, you tried to take deep breaths through your nose as each memory of that night flashed through your mind.
“Where are you going?” You asked your big brother, looking at him with wide eyes as he put you in the secret tunnels beneath the floor. He was nervous, breathing heavily as he gave you a bag of clothes and food.
“I’ll be right back, I need to grab-” You couldn’t hear what else he said as he mumbled to himself, shutting you down in the tunnels for safety as he left the room.
As you sat in the darkness, suddenly screams filled the halls, making your eyes widen as you looked up at the latch.
Covering your mouth, you held in your own cries of terror as footsteps thudded on the ground above you.
“No, please!” Your brother pleaded, making tears sting your eyes as you heard the swish of a blade, maniacal laughter following it. A sickening crunch was heard as your brother’s body was disfigured for sport, the blood seeping down through the floor, dripping near your feet.
“They say the princess escaped,” Bofur continued the story, oblivious to your painful memories. “Her body was never found with the rest of the family, and they suspect that the family knew for years about plots against them,”
“Why would they suspect that?”
“They found plans in the king’s office that indicated they wanted to build secret bunkers and tunnels for safety.”
Thorin wasn’t really paying attention to Bofur anymore, instead honing in on you as you looked at the ground. Your eyes were glassy as you recalled the stench of death when you came back to your home days later. The images of their bodies engraved in your mind as well as the blood splatter caked onto the family portraits. They had tried to run, but they weren’t fast enough.
You remembered the bile that filled up in your throat when you saw them, the way you ran to the nearest bathroom to vomit in the midst of your sobbing.
Zoning back into reality, you realized a single tear traveled down your face. Making it look like you were adjusting your hair, you carefully wiped your face, but the pain in your eyes lingered.
“Stew’s ready,” Ori called out to the group. You watched as everyone got up to get their food, Bilbo pausing when you didn’t stand up.
“Are you going to eat?”
“Nah, not very hungry right now.” You replied, faking a smile as you got up to go to your bedroll.
Thorin stood, carefully making his way over to you. The pain on your face was unmistakable, something only someone who lost everything could detect. Just like him, you lost your family and your home.
“I am so sorry for your loss,” He murmured lowly so no one could hear him. Your eyes snapped to lock with his as shock took its place on your face as he gave you a sad smile.
“What’re you talking about?” You faked nonchalance, tilting your head.
Thorin shook his head at you, understanding why you would still want to hide your identity.
“You don’t have to say anything, just know that you have someone to talk to if you so wish.”
As Thorin began to walk away, you replied, voice barely above a whisper.
“What will you do, now that you know?” You were terrified, the last time someone found out you were hunted for weeks like a rabbit being chased by hungry wolves.
Thorin turned back to you, looking over his shoulder for the briefest moments to ensure you still had your privacy.
“I will protect you.”

Why did you not finish Once Upon a Dream? I loved part one
Hello!
I'm so glad you enjoyed part one! To be genuinely honest- it was a big struggle to even write part one, and I've considered completely removing it from my blog but I left it in hopes one day my inspiration for the Fairytale Series would return. I'm hoping one day it does but for now it'll just sit I guess

Thorin: I am sorry for my words and actions on the rampart.
Bilbo: And I’m sorry for taking the Arkenstone.
Balin: Tensions were high. Everyone did and said things they didn’t mean.
Bilbo: Oh, no, I meant mine.

Thorin was lay beside you, his breathing slow. You watched his chest rise and fall. His dark eyelashes fluttered and his eyes moved beneath their lids. He had fallen asleep not long after your final round of love making.
You sighed. He was so beautiful, and didn’t even know it.
The night had become full of tension, which had followed his coronation celebration. Of course you attended, being a close friend of the new king. For many months and you had travelled alongside him, helping and fighting for him to re-take the mountain kingdom of Erebor. Thorin had taken you aside, complimenting you on your attire for the celebration, his blue eyes alight for you. Your first kiss had been outside the main hall, in a cold, empty hallway. Everything else that had followed was back in his bed chamber. The two of you had snuck away, hand in hand, still stealing secret kisses along the hallways.
Never before had you ever been touched in such a way as how Thorin touched you. His hot skin sent intense vibrations through you. His gaze made your heart thunder, and pulsate in other parts of your body, acknowledging just how aroused you were. His voice made sighs slip off your tongue so effortlessly.
You kept your eyes on him as he slept, recollecting the beautiful memories of him opening his heart, soul and body to you. When he had first slipped inside you, he had been over you, his large hands holding your legs open. You had welcomed him so freely in those moments. However, in your second round of pleasure seeking, you had climbed on top of him. He was laid out beneath you, vulnerable, offering it all. Those hands had been clamped on your hips, guiding your movement as the two of you ascended higher towards that wonderful, earth shattering climax. The third and final time, Thorin had been behind you. His lips remained on your neck and shoulder, showing you that even when he could not see your face, he still adored you and admired your beauty.
This was all wrong. Thorin was the most amazing man you had ever met. And you were just mediocre. Nothing special or of substantial value. You looked upon his sleeping form, studying his slim lips which peeped from beneath his moustache. His beard was neatly trimmed, despite him now growing it longer after reclaiming Erebor. That was a promise he had made many years ago. Once the mountain was re-claimed and he would grow his beard back long, as was custom with the Longbeard Dwarves.
Slowly, and you slipped out of bed. There was an ache in your chest. You loved Thorin so much more than you could ever express, but you were not worthy of his hand. A royal Dwarf deserved someone of standing and position, not a commoner like yourself.
Tears fell down your cheeks, reminding you of the man you were originally pledged to many years ago. He had told you he loved you, showered you with gifts, but made it known through his behaviour that you meant very little to him. His actions did not speak louder than his words. And, of course, his attention then swept elsewhere. Thorin would no doubt do the same. Such a beautiful soul would never cherish you and mean it! If this man from your past could not love you, then surely Thorin couldn’t either.
But you had never been touched, kissed and made love to in such a way as that! Every movement made you quake beneath Thorin’s touch, and his whispers of adoration made you shiver. Maybe he just knew how to please women and had rehearsed the words many times.
You re-dressed and slipped out of the chamber, giving Thorin one last glance. The ache hit you hard once again and you placed your hand on your mouth, stifling the uncontrollable sobs.
The halls were quiet and dark, with only the faint light of torchlight guiding your way. And by the time you made it back to your room, you grabbed a quill, ink and parchment. Your hand shook as you tried to write, which meant that your normally laced handwriting became more squiggled. A tear fell onto the parchment, splashing, and caused a swirl of black ink to form under your signature.
***
Thorin woke, his eyes adjusting to the dark room. He looked up at the ceiling of the room and sighed, recollecting the evening before. And as soon as he saw your face in his mind’s eye, he turned to see you had disappeared. He called your name into the gloom.
A dread hit him and his stomach twisted into a hard knot. Something was wrong.
Why would you disappear like this? Even though you could have just slipped back to your own bed chamber, Thorin felt something in the depth of his very being that told him that he would not find you there.
Thorin pulled on a robe, tying it at his waist, and made his way to your room, his mind full of questions. He didn’t even knock as he got to your door and let himself in, finding the room empty. A lump swelled in his throat. He approached your desk. A candle had been lit, and there under the flickering light, was a piece of parchment.
My dearest Thorin,
I cannot remain here. I do not belong. I will never be enough for you, my love. Go and find happiness. May Mahal bless you.
The letter was simple.
Thorin crumpled the letter in his hands, feeling a whole array of emotion wash over him. Terror and frustration seemed to form the knot in his stomach, which was now gaining momentum. Only the night before and Thorin had been on the verge of offering everything to you, a life together. That was all Thorin wanted. You, in every way. He thought that you had been willing to give yourself to him. You had even told him you loved him, shivered at his touch, become undone beneath him. The two of you had panted, sweat, groaned against each other. How could he just let all of that go?
He would not let you go.
He could not.

Hey cutie 🥰 I know you probably have 8000 requests rn BUT I adore you and your writing and was wondering if you would be interested in a lil Thorin x wife!reader fluff? Maybe they’re babysitting young Fili and Kili and discussing having one of their own but Thorin’s stubborn and won’t allow it until they reclaim Erebor 👀
It's been a million years- I hope you enjoy:
“And….Up!” You cheered as you scooped Fili from off the ground, swinging him up in your arms and into the air, holding him up and spinning around. Fili’s face lit up as the young dwarrow erupted into giggles, eyes shutting in glee as you spun him around the sitting room.
“Ups!” Kili tugged on Thorin’s pant leg, no longer amused by the book that his uncle was originally reading him, now demanding to have the same fun as his brother.
“Ups!!” The small dwarrow spoke more urgently, getting upset with the lack of quick response by Thorin.
“Aye, aye, I heard you,” Thorin chuckled, setting the book back on the shelf before Kili was also scooped into the air, the two boys being swung around.
“Down we go,” You spoke dramatically as you dropped your arms so Fili swung low to the ground, “And up!” You cheered, laughs coming out of you as the giggles of Fili became infectious.
“And back to aunty!” You pulled him close to your chest, Fili clinging to your neck as you spun him close to you, hugging him against your form. After a few minutes of spinning and maneuvering the young dwarrows, you and Thorin brought the boys to the dining table.
“Lunch?” You asked them, your grin seeming permanent as Fili fought to stay in your arms, but eventually dropped his clingy behavior in favor of playing with a wooden toy sitting on the table from earlier play time.
“‘Unch!” Kili echoed, nodding feverishly with wide eyes.
“Pumpkin soup?”
“Umpkin-oop!” He cheered, warming your heart as you pressed a kiss to both their foreheads before exiting into the kitchen.
After lunch had ended, the boys succumbed to their drowsiness, laying on the floor together with blankies and their stuffed animals curled into their arms.
Sitting on Thorin’s lap in the big armchair by the fireplace,  you sighed happily as Kili rolled onto his tummy and pushed his stuffed bear against his face.
“You know,” You spoke softly as to not wake the boys, hand drifting to your belly, “Moments like these make me yearn for one of our own,” You leaned your head against Thorin’s shoulder as he absentmindedly rubbed your thigh.
“Aye,” He agreed, feeling soft as his two nephews slumbered. “Not now, but one day,” Thorin said almost absentmindedly.
“One day?” You sounded confused, knowing the two of you were in your prime now. Truly, if you had it your way the two of you would already have had a child. Already being married for over two years.
“I wish for my child to grow up in the same halls I did,” Thorin spoke simply, imagining his own little dwarrow babe crawling on the smooth stone floors, growing into a young adult shadowing him to take over the throne one day.
“Thorin,” You sighed, already have argued many times over trying to reclaim Erebor, especially after seeing his grief of losing his family during the attempted reclamation of Moria.
“Âzyungel,” Thorin replied, ever the stubborn one as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
“Our lives in the Blue Mountains are temporary, I do not want to uplift our child’s sense of stability half-way into their upbringing and thrust them into something foreign,” Thorin reaffirmed his reasoning.
Sighing through your nose, you nodded, leaving Thorin’s lap in favor of going to Kili, adjusting the blanket over his shoulder and pressing a kiss to his hairline.
“Lukhudel, please do not be upset,” Thorin could read you like a book as you moved to collect the toys up and put them back in their respective places.
“I’m not upset,” You whispered to him over your shoulder, freezing in your movement when you heard Fili shuffle to settle into a similar position like his brother.
“I’m just disappointed, there’s a difference.” You murmured, knowing if Thorin had his mind set on something, not even Mahal could change his mind.
