Just a snippets from my short story
Tumblr media
That particularly rainy day, somewhere in some slums, ( trust me there are more than most working and wealthy people would care to admit), with another strange and cruel man. Aren't men always cruel though? Remembering how naïve and wasteful my thoughts were in those days of temporary elusive escaping. If I wasn't relying on a strange man for my addiction, lifestyle, money, or food. I was in shelters, abandoned houses, or factories. Pick pocketing, five finger discounts, and grade A conman scheming were the only skills at my disposal. Especially after dropping out of school when my grans died, which made me not care about anything, myself in particular.
Staring blankly at the raindrops casually and slowly falling from the gray sky, onto the abandoned windows pane. I try really hard to make the drops of water stop so I can jump into them. Lose my mind there and travel to another place far away, from myself honestly, looking back on it now. (It's not like drugs give you super powers). I pretend each raindrop is another planet surrounded by other solar systems and worlds that looked similar but held distinct parallel differences.
Suddenly the phones loud ringing shattered everything, as it most often did. The fantastical illusion I created began to quake as the disturbance of a very tired, hungry, and intoxicated bear of a man proceeds to get really nasty about the state provided phone, that I must be ignoring purposefully, just to rile him up. (Narcissists). I slowly make my way to my jacket and take out the beat up flip phone, a number I didn't recognize, so I hang up quickly. Just as I was about to put it back in my jacket pocket it began ringing again. Becoming increasingly agitated not to mention the severity of my intoxication I whipped the phone open prepared to lash out angrily at whoever was on the opposite end.
Before I could even say anything it was almost simultaneous. "Is this Nieyel Sierion?" a friendly yet serious female's voice said.
"Who's asking at, (I quickly glanced at the screen for time, which never crossed my mind), a quarter to midnight?" A quarter to midnight I hazily re-thought to myself, what could be so important at a time like this? Prepared to rip some kid a new one if it was a telemarketer or prank.
"This is Enith of Jearleane Memorial Hospital and Health. My apologies for calling so late but it's a matter of emergency." Still polite, yet the impatience in her voice was unmistakable. "Now if you would kindly direct me to Ms. Nieyel Sierion or not?"
At this point I've drifted back into my world of raindrops and began to meet some other worldly entities. "This is she." I say while teleporting into a different drop.
"My sincerest apologies to have to tell you this, but we need you to come straight away."
The entities in this drop aren't as friendly as the last.
"It’s concerning your mother. I'm afraid she doesn't have very long to live. And she is going to need lots of help in these next few weeks, months. Things are only going ot become increasingly difficult for her.
As if on cue, the raindrop universe begins exploding on impact. One planet at a time, and then, almost simultaneously, the phone drops from my hand as I begin convulsing on the floor. Nowadays I'm sure this was no coincidental thing, and I'm even more sure that without this enlightening moment I would most likely be dead by now.
As I wake up from the strangest dreams of post apocalyptia in the droplet universe I realize I'm in a hospital bed. I need to get out of here, and fast, I think to myself as I'm quickly recoiled back down into the bed. All of a sudden alarms of some sort go off , I'm assuming to alert the authorities, (just my luck), as I notice the handcuffs that were chaining me to the bed rails.

Have any of my Tumblr friends ever hear of CBD oil? Or has anyone ever used it?
