Weaning our baby
Throughout pregnancy and my child’s birth a lot of the guidelines, to me, push mums to do things in a new way. When I was in the hospital after given birth the midwifes told me that they couldn’t provide bottles of milk as they had to promote breastfeeding. I had to ask my parents to pop to the shop to get me some bottles, I didn’t expect not be in the hospital that long. Then when you look at…

An obligatory review of 2020
An obligatory review of 2020
2020. Twenty – Twenty A year that will mark history – I am sure in the future this year will be in the History book of my grandchildren or maybe great-grandchildren. January We started this year like every other, we had a small gathering at my mums house – something we use to do when I was younger. We saw in 2020 with news that there was this new virus but we didn’t know how serious it would…

The dreaded postpartum hair lost
So we are now 3 months post natal and I have experienced the dreaded hair lost.
Again something I wish someone told me 😂 but obviously due to the amount of hormones in your body during pregnancy you can gain a ridiculous amount of hair I mean just take a look at the below, my hair is thick but this was some next level thickness.

We Made It - 1 Month Old!
We Made It – 1 Month Old!
On the 10th September we marked 1 month since our son was born, what a month it has been.
I celebrated my 27th Birthday by having a family trip to the Trentham Monkey Forest near Stoke. It was a bit wet and rainy but we had a good time. Baby Hatton decided to sleep throughout our walk through so we will definitely go there again when he is a bit older and when it is a little less wet.

1 Week Postpartum
Tumblr media
Wow, this time last week I was lying on my back begging the nurses to make it stop as it could not push any more. Now I am sitting at a computer begging my Husband to make the pain stop as I can not pee or sit properly for more than half an hour. The joys of giving birth!
In my last post I details the journey I went through to birth my handsome and adorably cute son. Well 1 week later I am…

My Birthing Story
Tumblr media
As I am writing this I currently have my 4 day old lying on my chest fast asleep without a care in the world.
We start this story Saturday morning at 8:50 am. I had hardly slept that night due to the excitement at the thought of going in for my induction.
I called the hospital bang on 9am and was told they didn’t have any beds but will let me know when to come in once they did. Around…

My Poor Credit Card is more like it.
Lockdown has had me purchase (and return) many items however here is a list of my top buys.
Anything from ASDA George
If you can order or pop into ASDA their baby range is amazing. We managed to get a pack of 8 bodysuits, 4 muslin cloths as well as a load of other cute and adorable baby clothes at a decent price (Primark eat your heart out). I have found that a lot of the sizing has sold out online when I came to purchased but they generally have good stock in store. I also managed to get this cute swimsuit that fits nicely, I wore the suit during my first trimester and I honestly would wear it again outside of pregnancy.
  #gallery-0-11 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-11 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Robot Suits – £10
Adjustable Shade – £9.99
SwimSuit – £14
Morrisons Baby Bottles
I debated if I wanted to spend a fortune on Tommy Tippee Bottles or to go for the el cheapo option. After doing some research I decided to go for the el cheapo option, I couldn’t justify spending £X on a bottle just for the name. The bottles shown below are very very similar to those supplied in ASDA Little Angel range and the price is basically the same. You can get teats from £1.50 and the bottles themself cost £3.50
#gallery-0-12 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-12 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Nutmeg wide neck bottle
Medium Flow Teets
Chest of Drawers from HomeEssentials
If you like Ikea but don’t want to pay the ridiculous delivery free HomeEssentials is for you. We got this amazing chest of drawers for £49 (and free delivery for orders over £30)! Comes flat packed and if you are short like me (5ft 4) is the perfect height for changing a baby. We got the oak effect and it is perfect for storing the little ones onesies and bibs and clothes that don’t come hung.
Amazon (is amazing for baby items)
Nappy Bag
As I suffer with a bad back outside of pregnancy I wanted a backpack style bag, normal over the shoulder bags mean I put unwanted pressure on my back while a backpack the weight is distributed easily. Again, I didn’t want to pay £X amount on a bag as I know the main function is to basically just hold the baby stuff. The nappy bag I bought was £12.99 and comes with a little changing mat for when your out and about, pram straps and is very spacious. I have managed to fit 10 nappies, 5 outfits, 1 pack of wipes and I still have plenty of room. There is also a back panel that opens for easy access to lower down items.
OutdoorMaster Diaper Bag
Bibs
I think I hit the jackpot with these bibs. We got 10 for £10.99 and a free flannel cloth (works out to 99p per item). The bibs are wide enough that even my husband and I can fit them round out necks. You get 2 poppers for different sizes. My only critic is that some of the colours are a bit girly, but as long as they do what they are meant to I don’t care.
GHB 10-Pack Baby Dribble Bibs Bandana Bibs Cotton
Chicco Echo Stroller – Grey – Argos
As I had brought my car seat a few weeks before (we got the All in One cosatto for Birth to 12 years) I decided to get this pram as I would only be using it for when I went shopping up town or for going for walks and I didn’t need another car seat.
This pram is suitable from Birth to 3/4 years old. The back of the seat can be adjusted for the baby to lie flat. Although its “heavy” for me (I am a wuss) my husband has no issues carrying around, as he would need to do when we go to through London to visit family (tubes aren’t very pushchair friendly).  We did have to look up instructional videos as the written ones were a bit confusing but we are happy with the end result.
Chicco Echo – £64.99

Being Pregnant during a Pandemic
Being Pregnant during a Pandemic
Being pregnant is a stressful and emotional time already. You have a range of hormones pumping through your body, not to forget the fact that you have to pee very 5 minutes, your clothes don’t fit right and the aches and pains.
Yet being pregnant during a pandemic seems to bring its own hardships and emotions.
We found out we were expecting in December, the world was a very different place. No…

Can you believe it’s been a month since me and Adam tied the knot!
On this day last month, I woke up in my bridal suite at the Whately Hall Hotel. It was weird sleeping in a double bed by myself and I had that feeling of christmas that kids get when their excited to see what Santa had brought.
Tip: Eat breakfast – I am not kidding, one of my biggest regrets was not eating a proper breakfast. You can’t blame a girl, especially when it felt like her stomach was doing somersaults.
After my feeble attempt at breakfast I needed to relax and wait for my bridesmaids to come to my room. Me being me, I decided hair and makeup, I will do, for anyone who needed it in my bridal party. Lucky for me I only had to do mine and my mums.
At this point time was going so slow. Some of my friends popped up to the room to say “Hi” and to see how I was. I am glad the morning dragged, it gave me time to sit and get into a calm nature. My Mum will state that when she left me about 12:30, I must have been the calmest bride there was.
I did start panicking about 12:50 because I wondered where our event planner Lisa was. Shortly after 1pm she turned up to take me down to the ceremony room. This is where I lost it and began crying. As soon as I saw my dad, that was it, I was like the Niagara Falls. He tried his best to make me laugh while the registrar was going through the details and doing the checks they needed to.
Once that was over, the flower girls and bridal party were brought into the room. My (new) Sister In law had to walk down the aisle with her daughter who was only 2.
Tumblr media
I am so happy that the girls were part of our party and they were amazing flower girls.
Next it was my turn, Dad was trying to not let me fall over and Adam actually had a tear in his eye. The ceremony was lovely, we had 3 readings by Annika, Kevin (Adam’s Dad) and my Dad. What was sweet was that my Dad read a poem called “Wedding Remarks” which I wrote when I was 10.
Tumblr media
Once the ceremony was over, we walked past our guest, some which were crying tears of happiness. WE DID IT!!
Tumblr media
After the ceremony, we all went to the garden. Everyone was relaxed and socialising. This was the first time I had spoken to our amazing photographer Matt at Novel Focus. We’d been speaking over the phone but I never had the chance to meet him in person.
We did our main group photo first before doing the photos I had asked for. I sent Matt a list with names of who I wanted in each shot. It made it easier for him to gather the people needed. Below are some of the ones we took:
The Room was then set up for dinner and the speeches. Thankfully my dad wasn’t too embarrassing. Adam’s speech was short yet sweet and he’s best mans was funny. Dinner was amazing, although because it was over 30 degrees I had to leave the table after main due to dehydration –  I wasn’t feeling too good and felt bad because I should have been downstairs with my guests.
Over all the day was more amazing than I could have imagined. Because the of heat I didn’t drink any alcohol and I think that’s what made it such an amazing day. Everyone was so relaxed and everyone got along so well. I really wished I could relive the day all over again.

Final (Wedding) Countdown
So this Sunday is the day I get to walk down the aisle and marry my favourite person in the whole wide world.
Tomorrow we are taking down some of the items for the wedding to the hotel.
As our cake is Harry Potter Themed, I made this cute box from cardboard Costco boxes for gifts and cards to go. It means that we get to keep everything together in one place.

So 101 days until I get married. Almost in double figures, so much done and so much today so here is my May update.

Reflection on 2018
Happy new year everyone!
What a year 2018 has been.
To start with I had an amazing holiday to Malta, where I went as Adam’s girlfriend and came back as he’s fiancé. Which means this year I AM GETTING. MARRIED!!!
Tumblr media
2018 was also the year I went to Paris and more importantly Disneyland.
2018 saw me turn 25 (half way to 50 I know). I also had the courage to apply for a new position at my work, which…
