i'm literally losing my goddamn mind........i chose the names of my characters YEARS ago and i never really cared about or searched for the significance of their meanings but i had been considering renaming roxy bc it was mostly a placeholder and i never really felt like it fit, so i considered the name mina, and thus begins the rabbit hole i fell into...
depending on the kanji chosen to write their names...
mina can mean [mi] 3 (she has 3 tails) and [na] can mean nara, or a bunch of different trees (she comes from the forest) or a question for doubt/contradiction (she's not so bright)
kazuya can mean [kazu] get along/no conflict which fits bc he'd rather avoid conflict and [ya] means night/midnight/late hours AKA AFTER DARK WHICH IS THE TITLE OF MY STORY !!!!!!!!! 😭
amaya also can have the same [ya] in kazuya and depending on how AMA or A & MA is written it can mean the second in a sequence AND W T F BC KAZUYA AND AMAYA ARE TWINS AND SHE'S BORN SECOND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭
iru's full name is iradashka but she goes by iru and turns out it IS a japanese name and it can mean to get bored/disinterested and her whole schtick is that she literally becomes bored of being a succubus !!!!!!!!!!!!
AND FINALLY loretta can mean pure in the spanish meaning WHICH FUCKING WORKS because she's filipino and the influence of spanish in their culture and language just applies !!!!!!!!!!
JUST WHAT THE HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL MY MAIN CHARACTERS HAVE SIGNIFICANT NAME MEANING BY HONEST TO GOD CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
