I think we need to normalize using "people" as a species neutral word.
Like idk in my brain the word people just doesn't automatically = human. To me it's just a way to signify intelligence and individuality, and to emphasize the need for respect towards another creature, not specific to any one species.
Dogs can be people, mice can be people, dragons can be people, humans can be people, birds can be people, elves can be people, robots can be people, and so on.
It's also (in my opinion) just much easier than always saying "beings" or "individuals" when referring to varying assortments of creatures.

Nonhuman drama is so boring compared to what we COULD have. We should make up the drama our species would have on Tumblr. I wanna read a post from a dragon about how assigning greed to their species just for hoarding things is anti-dragon. I wanna hear what birds think about animals that can't fly. I wanna read a callout post about predators co-written by multiple prey species and a second callout post from the predators' perspective.

I haven't seen any posts like that but it makes me sad to know that a community that's supposed to be based on self love, expression, and finding one's identity has members publicly complaining that too many other members are expressing themselves a specific way
Like yeah putting down other members of your community may briefly make you feel better about your position in it. But to those outside of the community, you and those you're putting down are equally weird, gross, immature, attention-seeking, etc
Don't try so hard to fight against others alongside those who are fighting against you, too
I’ve struggled with wording this post, but I think I should just be blunt: interacting with the community sometimes makes me ashamed of being a canine. It hurts to see fellow therians and nonhumans being angry or upset that there’s a lot of canines or wolves in the community. Just today within five or so minutes of scrolling I saw four different posts focusing on how many wolves there are. I, on several occasions, have tried suppressing my canine identity in favor of being “more” dragon; but it doesn’t go away. I can’t stop being a canine.
Please be a good community member, support your canine allies. Seek out your own species if you wish to see more of them, rather than putting down others.
