Ngl being a bird in the therian community is also being annoyed at people who simplify it to Just Wings. My pet peeve is people who consider that angels, feathered dragons, winged beasts, winged people and birds are all the same thing bc "feathered wings"
yup yup. one thing I think about sometimes is how even though they're all "just wings" that's such a broad category. like, do you think a sparrow's wings are gonna feel at all the same as an eagle's? do you think a biblically accurate angel is gonna feel at all the same as a dragon? do you think a person with wings on their back is gonna feel at all the same as a crow? cuz I can tell you, I'm a crow and a dragon, and my wing shifts for both of those feel wildly different than each other. anyways sorry to ramble under your submission, but you're very right

okay, alterhumans/nonhumans who fly (dragonkin, birdkin,ect)
Y'know those like, drone videos that people post for a "pov flying"? Does anyone else ever watch those and just go "yea...no..'
I think I do this because as a dragonkin my flying produced up and downs. With every downstroke of my wings I'd go up and as they fell my body would go down. To me the drone videos feel too smooth for me to really get any enjoyment out of. Does anyone else experience this?

Attention, alterhumans!!
…particularly those in the UK!
This is a post to gauge interest in an educational organisation for therians and other alterhumans! It would have a focus on homeschooling and be mostly online, but would also be very open to anyone attending school.
As it stands right now, it would likely encompass an online community (e.g. on Discord), an archive of resources, “after-school clubs” of therian activities, and regular voice and/or text chat sessions to help with studying, talk about alterhumanity, or just be a bunch of nonhumans hanging out! However, if the project became large enough, we could be looking at irl meet-ups – howls, hiking, wilderness walks, workshops and the like.
The organisation would also be able to support our humans with finding tutors and groups for home education purposes, and for those who are in school, supplementary lessons and tutors.
Basically, it’d be a big group of therians, otherkin, nonhumans and anyone under the alterhuman umbrella, for school purposes and also developing the ability to live in human society, without feeling othered or disconnected from their alterhuman identity.

It would be UK-based, so while alterhumans from all over the world can be involved, the focus will be on the education system here, so GCSEs etc.

My own experience (feel free to share your own in the comments/reblogs! id love to see it!):
Ever since I was young, I almost only consumed content about inhuman things. Robots, zombies, animals, nature… you name it. Warriors Cats, Transformers, My Little Pony, basically anything David Attenborough was in.
When I watched Pokemon as a kid; I didn’t want to be a trainer, I wanted to be a Pokemon. When I read about animals from the books in the library; I mimicked what they did, imagining myself as a cardinal flying through the trees or a serval stalking through the grasslands. A sundew curling around its prey, a werewolf’s painful transformation.
And well, I always had an active imagination. When I was in elementary school and preschool, you weren’t allowed to go back inside during recess if you were cold. So I just sorta taught myself how to perceive things differently! I could make my body warmer just by thinking of it. Then, later I could manifest the feeling of wings, animalistic legs, sharper teeth, horns… yeah.
This definitely led to where I am now. A both spiritual and psychological connection to who I am deep down. I am human, yes. But over a lifetime of being unable to relate to others led me to find kinship in unlikely places.

I think the most bittersweet part of being a pigeon therian is that pigeons are so common. I see them everywhere, and it brings me so much joy to see them strutting around, but also. I'm so aware of my human body around them.
YES PIGEONS!! I love pigeons and am currently questioning if I might have a pigeon theriotype! i was out of town in a big city a few days ago and there were so many pigeons just hanging out. I sat down and one of them came over and just chilled with me for a bit before his somewhat more deranged friend came and started poking him until he came along. sometimes I try to pick pigeons up, although that's probably not a great idea. anyways much love to my pigeon brothers and sisters and siblings. y'all are great.
