Can i kin something for fun? And what would that involve, how would it work ect. Sorry, i feel like i can never find any good information about kin stuff and i know that im not /actually/ something nom human but the idea of kinning something for fun seems cool, sorry if this is insensitive
I think this is probably debated but personally? I think so. I think it would fall into how some people using kinning to cope - so if kinning something for fun makes you feel good, then I personally say go for it.There’s no requirements to how to “act” otherkin. Try some things out. Collect things that have to do with your kin. Eat things that your kin might eat (@kinfood has a bunch of tagged recipes). Add things to your bedroom that make you feel cozy or remind you of your kin.
Also, I think it’s a misconception to say that otherkin don’t know they’re human. Of course we know that physically we’re in a human body, but either for spiritual reasons or coping reasons or past life reasons or any number of other reasons, we don’t feel human.

hi!! i can i get positivity for a mermaid kin who didn’t have any gills? i couldn’t breathe or hold my breath underwater and i’ve been feeling kind of down about it lately
Of course! That had to be very difficult for you but it doesn’t make you any less. Just because you couldn’t live under the water doesn’t mean you couldn’t enjoy and love it! Not having gills makes you very unique and lovely! Don’t beat yourself up about it! 🐚

How to Get Kin Memories Within Minutes - An Easy Method!
Hey guys!
I notice a lot of kin have a hard time getting memories from their canons. Everyone likes having memories: they make you feel more valid, they allow you to find canonmates more easily, and overall they’re really interesting and often nice to have.
I have a simple method for getting kin memories that has worked very well for me. I’ve gotten plenty of memories from it, and it’s been a great way for me to confirm kintypes I question. Sooo, I thought I would share it!
It’s an easy and quick process to go though: exactly what everyone wants!
It’s basically self-hypnosis, which is not as strange and crazy at it sounds. Hypnosis is a very natural thing, and we go into hypnotic trances very often in our everyday lives (e.g. when watching TV). It’s not scary at all. It’s really relaxing, and is actually pretty similar to meditation.
(This can also be useful to fictives with unclear memories!)
I’ll cut to the chase and list the steps bellow the break~
Keep reading

I’ve been questioning kin stuff for a pretty long time and I sincerely can’t tell what it could be. I have no kintypes at the moment but I’m almost positive there’s an inhuman part of me and I wanna figure it out, you know? Got any advice on what I should do?
I think the main thing you can do is just keep exploring! Can you tell if it’s an animal or something fictional when you think deeper about it? If you think it’s something like an animal, you could try following things that post lots of nature pictures, or watch a nature documentary like Planet Earth and see what jumps out at you. If you think it’s fictionkin, try new shows you haven’t watched yet in genres that you really like or try a new book.
Another option is trying meditation - I’ll give a couple good examples to get you started. Some written tips/guides: 1 2 3 4 While you’re meditating, it might be helpful to set a goal for yourself. If a meditation guide tells you to repeat a sort of mantra to yourself, you could repeat to yourself, “I will find my kin.”
Here are some guided meditations on YouTube, you can find more by trying guided meditation. I personally couldn’t find any specific kin guided meditations but maybe I wasn’t looking in the right places! 1 2 3 4 I didn’t listen to these all the way through but they seemed like they could be helpful. When they use language like “inner self” or “inner guides,” think of it as them saying kin in a different way if that makes it more helpful.
Also think about starting a kin journal where you write down any time you have those nonhuman feelings, keep track of what was happening, what you saw or heard that made you feel that way and see if you can figure out any patterns!
Best of luck finding out more about who you are!

Welcome!
Hi there!
My name is Alice, and I’m happy to welcome you to another kin blog. I used to do aesthetic posts for @kinservice but lost access to that page. If you knew me there years back, hello again! And if not, hello for the first time!
I’m a 25-year-old queer, gender-questioning individual (she/her pronouns are fine). I identify heavily as a high elf/eladrin and mermaid. Some other feelings I have are for dragons, space things, deer and orange tabby cats! :3
I blog random stuff over at oddityball (warning: nsfw content).
I would love to join the existing resources out there. I especially love making aesthetic posts and will be queuing up and reposting some from my time at kinservice until I start getting asks. I would love to be a catch all - if you want recipe recommendations for your kin, aesthetics, accessory or fashion posts, divination (I do tarot, oracle cards and pendulum primarily), offering positivity, and if you have a question to be answered or if you just want to talk! I’m here for you!
This blog aims to be an inclusionary, safe space. Please let me know if something makes you uncomfortable or if I do something problematic so I can fix my behavior. I aim to make this blog safe for minors as much as possible - if anything is not appropriate I will make sure to include a warning.
I am working on the FAQ and in the meanwhile, check out the disclaimers page and make any kind of request you like! If you have a kin blog, let me know so I can share it on the promo page!
Thank you! I hope to hear from all you lovely kin soon.

What emoji most reminds you of your kin?
Maybe that’s a silly question but it’s fun to think of everyday things that remind you - and this has become something which is used every day!
And there’s so many options to choose from... just animals alone - 🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🦊🐻🐼🐨🐯🦁🐮🐷🐸🐵🐔🐧🐦🦆🦅🦉🦇🐺🐗🐴🐝🐛🦋🐌🐞🐢🐍🦂 and that’s not even all of them! 😻
I like: 🐱🌊🦌 The deer is so cute!
What do you think?

Shout out to the otherkin
Who don’t have the means to “dress up” or look like their kin due to lack of money
Who are afraid people will judge them for dressing as their kin type on a daily basis
Who are unrecognized as an otherkin when they want to be while others merely play pretend of their kind
Who don’t have a lot of information online or even in books about their specific kin
Who want to make friends with other otherkin but don’t know how
Who want to make friends with other otherkin but don’t really have memory of a past life or anything like that to talk about
Who are here to fulfill their duty as a reincarnate but are having a hard time finding what that duty is
Who want to tell close friends/family but are afraid they’ll be laughed at
Who painfully miss their past life home or miss the home they know they’re supposed to be living in but are stuck in an home that isn’t exactly ideal
Who feel lost or too different from the world
Who feel too much due to their otherkin talents/gifts/soul
Who aren’t sure how to harness their gifts/talents yet
Who are conflicted between embracing their otherkin soul or letting it fade to the background
Who aren’t sure if they’re actually otherkin because they don’t seem to “fit the part”
Who have vivid painful memories of a past life that effect them on a daily basis
Who aren’t sure exactly which kin they are
Who belong to a kin that seems too righteous or offending to say aloud to others
Who belong to a kin that seems too dark and dangerous
Who are still accepting they are of a kin they don’t want to be apart of
You guys are all valid and deserve to be recognized. Shout out to you. Shout out to us.
