Robo advisors are my jam. And I think they should be yours, too.
From the article:
The startups make the assumption that humans are not smarter than a beta-grade line of code. But they also charge next to nothing and require only a little skin in the game. Wealthfront, for example, charges no management fee for any account under $10,000, and 0.25% after that. Betterment allows you to open an account with no cash. That’s a big contrast to, say, Charles Schwab, where most accounts require a minimum deposit of $1,000 and every trade costs $8.95. If you want to work with a financial adviser, you’ll face annual fees of another 0.5% to 1.5% of assets under management.

After a recent trip to Iceland, it looks like Greenland might be next!

Greenland is so crazy beautiful!
I traveled about 25 miles by dogsled with my local fixer, Julius, to visit this small settlement.
It’s called Tiniteqilaaq, a shrinking community of about 70 people. Here, hunting is still a way of life, although it’s unclear how long that will last. Jobs and education in the larger town of Tasiilaq have pulled most of the young people away. Those who stay have few options. Suicide is disturbingly commonplace.
But the fish and seals and polar bears are still here, and the ice cap is visible in the distance. Many here hope Tiniteqilaaq will have a second life as a destination for adventure tourists and expeditions onto the ice cap.

Federal Reserve Gains More Room for Second Rate Increase
Tumblr media
“U.S. financial conditions are no longer an obvious barrier” to another interest-rate increase by the Federal Reserve, according to Michael Shaoul, chief executive officer of Marketfield Asset Management LLC. Shaoul drew his conclusion in a report today that cited rebounds in the chart’s two indicators, the Bloomberg U.S. Financial Conditions Index and the Citigroup U.S. Economic Surprise Index. Fed policy makers will meet March 15-16 to decide whether to raise their target rate for the second time since December.

Why Your Portfolio Needs Plenty of Stocks, Whatever Your Age
By DAVID A. LEVINE Most investment counselors tell people to reduce holdings of common stock as they get older, but that advice is poor, a former chief economist writes. Published: February 6, 2016 at 12:00AM from NYT Your Money http://ift.tt/1X8wxAi

A great way to start the new year is by following best budgeting practices! Make 2016 a great financial year with the help of Financial Guard
Beginner Finance: Budgeting
Budgeting.  One word no college student, or adult for that matter, wants to hear.  It means we can’t get our Chipotle and Starbucks today, and that makes everyone sad.  However budgeting doesn’t necessarily have to change your lifestyle, just your way of thinking. Let me put this in perspective: the government raises taxes by 10%, what do you do?  You complain and moan about how bad the…
