The PSoC 6 Wi-Fi BT Prototyping Kit (CY8CPROTO-062-4343W) is a low-cost hardware platform that is purpose-built for the IoT, delivering the industry’s lowest power, most flexibility, and built-in security for the IoT. Before starting, ensure you have the following: - PC (I used a Macbook) with USB port and Wifi connectivity - UART terminal software, such as Tera Term or Minicom (I used Mac terminal built-in SCREEN) - Non-enterprise Wifi network with internet access or a mobile hotspot Then 1. Visit the kit website to download and install the required software https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/evaluation-boards/cy8cproto-062-4343w (especially ModusToolbox) 2. Ensure the jumper J3 is at position 2-3 to select 3.3V 3. Connect the KitProg3 USB connector (J8) to your PC 4. Wait for the drivers installation to complete 5. Open the UART terminal software and connect to the KitProg3 USB-UART COM port with settings (refer below) 6. Press the RESET switch (SW1) on the device 7. Follow the instructions displayed on the UART terminal to use the pre-programmed code example (i.e. Hello World blink) The first thing to do is determine which device you want to connect to. > ls /dev/tty.* In this case, a PSoC 62 MCU with the name of /dev/tty.usbmodem14103 Once you’ve determined which device you would like to use, you can execute the SCREEN command to start the serial terminal session on your Mac. Remember to specify the speed (baud rate), data, parity, stop bit, flow control after the device name. Baud rate: 115200 Data: 8 bit Parity: None Stop bit: 1 bit Flow control: None > screen /dev/tty.usbmodem14103 115200,cs8,-parenb,-cstopb,-ixon,-ixoff Once you’ve connected, you can use the terminal as you normally would. #infineon #cypress #psoc #psoc6 #mcu #microcontroller #microcontrollers #iot #iotproject #internetofthings #modustool #modustoolbox #industry40 #industrialrevolution #psoc62 #kitprog #uart #poc #prototyping #leanstartup #agile #prototype (at Solace Setiawalk Serviced Apartment (R3)) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcF62LoJ--Z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

People ask: Why I put money into the low cost passive index fund, instead of high growth individual stocks or all-in into startups? I can summarize my answer: "Limit the downside risk, while betting for unlimited upside returns". With my downside protected, I can put my bets into the riskiest thing I can find. In the middle, there's a lot of downside, without much upside. Jeju Folk Song: 오돌또기 Odolttogi by Song Sohee
This song is a typical folk song of Jejudo, and its composition makes a unique feeling of Jejudo. The line method is a five-note scale of 'La, Do, Le, Mi, Sol', and is suitable for the gutgeori jangdan.
Jeju Island, with its regional characteristics and primitive island culture far from the land, has more songs than any other region of the land.
Jeju folk songs are not only different in quantity but also in content and form. They have a strong accent and a dialect unique to Jeju Island. In addition, although the characteristics of the folk folk songs may be partly expressed, the simplicity of the melody that is different from the compositional melody of the land adds to the taste of Jeju folk music.
If Jeju's fame is a prominent feature, it means that there is a lot of labor. In particular, Jeju's life has been dependent on women's labor for many years, so there are many songs that women sing while doing various things. There are many cases called without a jangdan.

Speaking Southern Vietnamese in a week (8 Days)
Inspired by Tim Ferriss’s Learning Tagalog in 4 Days experiment, I will try to speak Vietnamese in a week.
dailymotion
I had created a general plan to learn any language at My general guide to learn Any Language in 30 hours. This is more specific plan for learning Southern Vietnamese.
Goal: Able to have a simple conversation in Southern Vietnamese near restaurant in 8 days i.e. basic conversation, ordering food, food review, paying bill....
Why Vietnamese is easy
Vietnamese has no genders as in French, Spanish, German, or just about any European language except English.
Vietnamese doesn’t have plurals. If you really need to be specific, just slap an extra word in front of the noun, like một người (one person), nhũng người (some people), or các người (all the people).
Vietnamese has no confusing verb endings. Vietnamese is a completely non-inflective language – no word ever changes its form in any context. Learn the word nói, and you know how to say “speak” in all contexts and tenses for all speakers. I nói, you nói, he or she nói, we nói, you all nói, and they nói. That’s dozens, if not hundreds of hours of work saved compared to learning almost any European language.
Vietnamese tenses can be learned In two minutes. Just stick one of these 5 words (đã, mới, đang, sắp, sẽ) in front of it.
If you’re English speaker (most likely) or other languages that use Latin script, you don’t have to learn a new alphabet.
Vietnamese spelling is highly consistent and unambiguous. You can always tell from reading a single Vietnamese word exactly how it’s supposed to be pronounced (Never for English).
Vietnamese grammar is virtually non-existent. Most of the time, you can just say the minimum amount of words needed to get your point across and the result is grammatically correct Vietnamese, no matter how “broken” it would sound in English.
Vietnamese vocabulary is highly logical. A huge percentage of Vietnamese vocabulary is formed by just combining two words in a logical manner, whereas in English you'd have to learn an entirely new third word that sounds completely different.
My Advantages
My native language is Chinese Mandarin with the 4 Tones, so it is relatively easier to pick up the 6 Tones Vietnamese.
I speak Cantonese. Lots of loan words from Chinese, I have something to associate the new vocabulary with.
Forecast Milestones 1. sugar high @ day 1 2. immediate drop and low point @ day 2 3. rapid progress after low point, followed by a plateau @ day 3 4. inflection point @ day 6 5. fluency @ day 8

My general guide to learn Any Language in 30 hours
This is my general guide to learn Any Language in 30 hours across a month, i.e 1 hour per day.
Tumblr media
Phycho-physiological State Preparation
Motivation: Want < Need (Genuine Desire)
Commitment to learn
Set the right expectation/goal: To be able to express and understandable by local, not being perfect.
Have a practical and specific short-term (3 months) aims:
Can have a 5 minutes conversation fully in foreign language with native speaker OR
can travel totally using local language
able to understand half of the foreign language movie without subtitle.
Daily goal: something can be achieved immediately or by today.
Be confidence & focus on the positive from the starts (not negative like “it is hardest language..) AND nothing to be shy.
Be happy, relaxed (Take a very deep breath), curious and specifically to be tolerant of ambiguity (forget about perfect)
Mistakes are a natural part of learning progress, accept that they will happen and know this doesn’t prevent you from communicating (the main objective)
Luck, talent or genes is not an excuse. you can overcome challenges to reach your goals
Forecast milestones (8 units)
sugar high @ 1st unit
immediate drop and low point @ 2nd unit
rapid progress after low point, followed by a plateau @ 3rd unit
inflection point @ unit 6
fluency @ unit 8
For cramming: choose something that improving exponentially, instead of incrementally.
Tumblr media
Instant Conversation Preparation
Basic pronunciation: Vowels, Consonants
Scrap the foreign alphabets, how it sounds.
Tool: Forvo – Crowdsourced Pronunciation
Portuguese: real -> he\y ou\ch -> /heou/!!!
Be-careful, this contradicted with No-English rule
Copy the Face. Hear how it feels and feels how it sound
Backchaining : Go backward. Say the end of the word, then add one letter at a time until you can say the whole thing.
Example: vzdrognu -> nu -> gnu -> ognu -> rognu -> drognu -> zdrognu -> vzdrognu
Cheat code for tongue twisters
Physiological training (keep hearing the sounds and Listen a lot, the rhythms, patterns) - Ears and Mouth training for new sounds with Mimic Method by singing target language songs, syllable by syllable.
Language Matrix (Tony Marsh Method) - Choose vocabulary (verb) around a relevant conversational theme, i.e. Basic, Self-Intro, Food, Travel, ... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RzZ6zfIzddM_GMgo0PpCBPZ_oNxFryd2rnwNEnE-llk/edit?usp=sharing
Basic Grammar Deconstruction with Tim Ferris’s 13 sentences
The apple is red.
It is John’s apple.
I give John the apple.
We give him the apple.
He gives it to John.
She gives it to him.
Is the apple red ?
The apples are red.
I must give it to him !
I want to give it to her !
I’m going to know tomorrow.
I can’t eat the apple.
I have eaten the apple.
Language matrix + grammar/structure cheat sheet = MED (Minimum Effective Dose) = condense the most important 20% information down into a digestible, easily graspable one pager.
Speaking
You will never be ready. Just use your new language as a Tool to communicate from DAY 1
Skip through any grammar or vocabulary that is not essential for communication at your current level and learn what you need to speak without hesitating too much.
Game of Taboo. Instead of “Umm…” awkwardly or abruptly starting to speak a language, you can ease yourself in by first throwing in a few words that you know, then using the foreign language structure with some of your native language, and eventually making this a majority of the target language. This may be “imperfect”, but it will get you into the flow you need to be familiar with a language.
Conversation connector.
Rather than abruptly ending the conversation when you give your answer, you are softly bouncing it back at them and inviting them to continue their end of a conversation
agreeing/disagreeing
opening
general fillers
qualifying
switching
Vocabulary Tool Box/Plan
Focus on getting the meaning First (before the words) -> Body Language
Start Mixing
10 verbs x 10 nouns x 10 adjectives = 1000 possible phrases
Focus on the Core.
1000 words = 85% coverage (English) only learn the most frequent used words and phrases.
Directions and Prepositions
the Days of the Week
Pronouns (you, that, me)
Common Verbs & Adjectives (give, hot)
Simple conversation
what is this?
how do you say?
I don’t understand…
repeat that please
Glue words (but, and, even though)
Encoding/recalling with Anki Spaced Repetition System (SRS) Flash Cards
Many simple cards are better than a complex card
Always ask for one correct answer at a time
Don’t translate. Image association. Direct connect the targeted language to mental images.
Level of processing: structure, sound, concept (abstract/concrete details) & personal connection
Word, Picture, Pronunciation (IPA), Recording, Personal Connection
Mnemonic Imagery Game: we’re good in remembering images especially violent, sexual and/or funny
Example: masculine = exploding! // feminine = catch fire // neuter = shatter like a glass (裂开)
Sentences Mnemonic -> PAO: Person (Grammar Form) -Action (Masculine/Feminine) -Object
use all the senses: touch, smell, look, taste, listen/speak (sound), feel
Personal connection
Concrete Nouns: When’s the last time I saw my mere (mother)?
Abstract Nouns: How has the economie (economy) affected me?
Adjectives: Am I timide (timid)? If not, do I know someone who is?
Verbs: Do I like to courir (run)? Do I know someone else who does?
Practise
Self practice/rehearsal/visualise (acts as 2 people talking) during any free time (bath)
Get a Language Parent (guru, mentor)
works to understand what you are saying
does not correct mistakes
confirms understanding by using correct language
use words learners knows
Get a language buddy that the best language in common is the target language you want to learn (talk with korean who don’t know chinese, english, the languages i knew)
Commit no English rule… only speak the target language to the buddy even though have to pull out dictionary or translation OR body language!
Remember When you first Understand the Message, you will unconsciously acquire the language
Immersion & Exposure EVERYDAY… listen to foreign language song … or watch foreign videos
No subtitle allowed, even targeted language because we don’t improve our listening.
no comedy… at least for beginning. you don’t understand the slang, punchline
tv series better than movie. you can figure out who and what’s going on in the first 1-2 episodes and enjoy for the later.
read about the synopsis and summaries by episodes beforehand (Native, then Targeted Language)
vocabularies used
characters
plots
Make a Public Language Log. Documenting your progress (struggles or …). Get encouraged or pressured from others.
Speaking to Natives. Just Ask! Could we speak your language? I’d really like to practise!” (and say it in the actual language, of course!) most of the time they will be very happy to oblige! “why I am learning the language”
Changed language to Vietnamese
Facebook Language Setting
Macbook
Handphone
Frequency
All learning is physically limited; you have a finite number of neurotransmitters (for memory), and a finite amount of REM and non-REM sleep (required for consolidation).
based on Von Restorff Effect: 1 Hour each session
20 minutes: Learning 1 while doing simple physical exercise or simply move your body (increase neuron connections)
5 minutes: shifting content, something unique than Learning 1 & 2 (i.e. throw in some new vocabulary or concept) and by moving from “words to phrases” (i.e. work through an example exercise).
20 minutes: Learning 2
10-15 minutes break: stretching & push ups
Review = daily blog
Stakes : create real consequences and guarantee I follow the program.
Don’t eat meal every day until you’ve accomplished a certain task (meal is your reward)

Maximise and Speed Up Ketosis
Ketosis is also known as the body's process for generating energy by producing ketones when insufficient carbohydrates are available in the diet. In other words, a low-carb diet is called ketogenic because it forces the body to use fat for energy. Ketosis is a very effective means of burning fat, but there are certain techniques for increasing fat-burning through exercise and nutrition.
Tumblr media
Intermittent Fasting
High Fat (70%): Grass-fed butter, coconut oil, grass-fed meats...
Moderate Animal only Protein (20%): Free range, pasteurised Eggs, grass-fed meats...
Low carb (10%, around 30g) and only allowed at night time, recommended 2-3 hours before sleep or after HIIT (muscle recovery): Green vegetables, Honey, sweet potatoes, white rice...
Use Coconut oil for medium-chain triglyceride (MCT)
High intensity interval training (HIIT), max 3 times per week with each session max 20 minutes.
Adopt Cold Thermogenesis to speed up Ketosis

Building Sensq (Social Media Analysis for Market Research SaaS) as a Lean Startup
What people write and read online is more important than ever. It both reflects and shapes people's opinion.
Tumblr media
According to statistics provided by Facebook (May 5, 2016), 94% of Malaysians discover products and brands on Facebook and 62% of them makes a purchase after the discovery. This shows that the online reviews can be a decisive factor to lead a successful word of mouth and real sales increases through reducing anxiety about new products and sharing information to peers.
"Malaysian businesses cannot afford not to participate in social media. It's too much of a risk,"
Neil Meikle, associate director of PwC Consulting Services Malaysia.
However, the social media data is too large, your social media manager does not have enough resources to accelerate the process from data to decision. The time and attention required to sift through the massive social media posts relevant to your goals may cost more than the resulting insights are really worth. We need a way to extract the real-time online conversations into context on important topics that the customers most care about, fast and accurate.
I'm going to relaunch Sensq, a social media analysis for market research as a semi-managed SaaS.  Sensq collects millions of consumer-generated opinions from the internet and social media every day. Then we use the technology we’ve built up over the past decade for the big Enterprise (Croakun) to extract meaningful information from those opinions for our clients.
*semi-managed: I found that most is struggling to use a social media analysis software, from research to choosing the right keywords/profiles to monitor. So we will do the research and setup the initial analysis dashboard for customers based on their objectives, getting what they only need, i.e. actionable information, without hassle.
I will fully adopt the Lean Startup methodology to build Sensq and the result will be available publicly for mutual learning. The goal is to test the market with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), generating qualitative and qualitative data before committing more resources.
Vision
Sensq is a web-based social media analysis software for market research. We help brands mining real desire through social media analysis, providing them more relevant and actionable information, so that they can create strategies that actually engage their customers and generating optimum returns.
Segment: Politicians (Main, The Malaysia General Election (GE14) is coming soon.) & B2C SMBs
Architecture: B2B
Focus: Market research to identify critical topics/issues that the netizens most care about.
Distribution: Freemium SaaS + Semi/Managed Services
Value hypothesis (Need) Brands want to reach the highest possible of potential customers, converting them as loyal buyers or advocates through social media, by:
Understanding the topics and issues that customers care about the most.
Discovering and make decisions when to respond to crises before they become mainstream (and when to stay on message)
Growth hypothesis Brands will aware the importance of social media analysis in market research and most converted to paid users for upgraded services.
Growth engine: Stickiness (Not Viral and Paid)
MVP (Technology - Continuous deployment, NOT batch)

Financial Independence by 30
Financial Independence: Basic expenses will be paid by dividend or interest.
Tumblr media
Basic expenses = RM 900 monthly = RM 10,800 annually.
With 4% withdrawal rate, I need RM 270,000 capital.
Given 1.5 years or 18 months remained, I need to save RM 15,000 per month.
Easier with RM 9,000 monthly saving, but taking 30 months (2.5 years). or 29 months (with 3.88% p.a.).
To achieve that, the formula I need to follow:
1) Spend less (Frugality)
2) Earn more
3) Invest wisely
1) Spend Less (Frugality)
Wants vs Needs
Be prudent when it comes to expenses, especially the big ticket items. Do we need to stay in a condominium? Do we need that car? Do we need to send our children to universities overseas? We could seriously boost our efforts to save for retirement by having our feet firmly planted on the ground.
"Spend less than you make; always be saving something. Put it into a tax-deferred account. Over time, it will begin to amount to something. This is such a no-brainer." Charlie Munger.
Time is required for compounding to do its magic. Save early.
2) Earn More
??
3) Invest Wisely
Don't hold on to too much cash. We should put aside a meaningful sum of money every month as we save towards retirement but just leaving the money in a savings account is not a good idea. Inflation and paltry interest rates mean that our savings will shrink in real value. Put aside an emergency fund and invest the rest of our savings.
“Never depend on single income. Make investment to create a second source.” Warren Buffett.
If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die ~ Warren Buffet.
Assume 4.5% inflation rate, altogether with 4% withdrawal rate, I need at least average annual return of 10% from dividend.
