Stuff Your Kindle 3 Day Event
This is the last day to get my book (and all the others) for free! I am SO close to getting into the top 100 for some of the categories I am listed in and would really appreciate the support of everyone here ❤ All you need to do is download it, even if romance isn't a genre you read, the download helps and since it's free, it doesn't cost you anything but a few seconds of time to click the "buy it now" button! ❤
Thank you to everyone who has downloaded it so far! I have had so many more downloads than I anticipated, but getting into the top 100 for ANY category with my very first published piece would be AMAZING! Click the Image to download for free!

Long Time, No See...
It's been a while... So long, in fact, that I wrote an entire short story and it is now available for pre-release on Amazon!
Initially, I started writing it as just a challenge to myself, because I know I have a habit of getting long-winded when telling stories, and I wanted to see if I could do it.
Well, I did!
Tumblr media
Jocelyn is a small-town girl with a heart of gold, but years of being mistreated by her ex have left her lacking in confidence. Blake is a handsome stranger that Jocelyn has been talking to online. When they finally make a plan to meet in person, Jocelyn is terrified that she has made a huge mistake. Will this be another internet dating horror story, or will the two of them find what they have been searching for, in each other?
This story is extremely special to me because it was actually inspired by the weekend my husband and I met 16 years ago! It is available on Amazon for your Kindle as well as in Paperback! You can pre-order now, and it will be available on July 28th!

“Ms. Newman, where is your daughter?” the detective asked as he flipped open his notebook and clicked his pen.
“Where is she? She is wherever she was taken, what kind of question is that?” I responded, not able to hide the confusion on my face.
He ignored my question, “Hmm…” he grunted, “Can you tell me where you were last night between 11:00 and 11:40 pm?”
“I drove to the Pit Stop gas station across town, to buy tampons, and then I drove back here, ” I explained.
“And do you have any proof of your whereabouts?” he asked.
“Well, I have a box of tampons and a receipt. I’m sure if you asked you could check their camera footage and you’d see me there, I was in there for a little while.” I replied.
“I hope for your sake that is true.” the detective said.
“Why the hell would I lie about that?” I asked
“Just seems awfully convenient that you happened to be out of the house at some obscure time in the middle of the night, right when your daughter goes missing.”
“What are you trying to say?” I accused.
“Nothing Ma’am, just trying to gather any information that might help us find your daughter.” the detective retorted.
“Sure you are,” I responded curtly.
“Now, do you have any family who might have wanted to take your daughter for any reason?” he asked.
“No, her father passed away in February and his parents were already deceased. Plus no one knew we were here.” I explained.
“May I ask why no one knew you were here?” he asked.
“I didn’t tell anyone we were coming here because I am being stalked and no one will take me seriously about it,” I said
“And what makes you believe you have a stalker?” he questioned.
“Well, for starters, I have been getting creepy text messages for the last six months. I have also had strange things delivered to my place of business, as well as to my house. The night before we came here when I decided to come, I’m pretty sure I saw someone outside my house watching me through my windows.” I summarized.
“And have you reported this activity to the local police?” He inquired.
Frustrated, I replied, “I have, but they say they can’t do anything because there haven’t been any threats, and because the phone numbers they come from are always different, so they can’t be certain it’s all from the same person.”
“I see…” he commented.
“Look, I get it. You don’t think this is real, or at least not serious, but it was real enough to me to make me pack up my child and leave without telling anyone to keep us both safe.” I said annoyed.
“And is that where your daughter is now? Somewhere safe?” he asked.
“What?! No, here is where I brought her to be safe. Or, I thought we would be safe here!” I shouted as I stood up and walked across the kitchen.
“Ok Ma’am, there’s no need for hysterics,” he said condescendingly.
“Excuse me?” I said, turning around, but before I could finish my thought, Sadie spoke up.
“Hey, yeah, I think we are about done here.” She insisted.
“Miss?” the detective questioned, looking at Sadie as she stood up to come to stand beside me.
“You heard me. Her daughter is missing. I was attacked… by a man. You don’t need to be interrogating Gabby like she has done something wrong.” Sadie asserted as she put her arm around me and hugged me close.
“Well, I… uh…” the detective stammered.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought. So do you have any questions that will actually help with the search? Or do you have any suggestions for what we should be doing, besides just waiting?” She asked.
“Well, I’m going to have to insist that you don’t go looking for this mystery man if in fact he is dangerous,” the detective said facetiously.
“If? I think the knot on my head says enough about how dangerous he is.” Sadie said incredulously.
“Yes, well, we are trained to handle these kinds of situations, so we ask that civilians do not interfere with active investigations.” the detective replied.
“Could have fooled me,” Sadie replied smartly.
“Alright, that’s enough.” the detective said angrily.
“He’s right Sadie. Thank you for having my back, but we need to focus.” I said as I turned to the detective, “But really, what can we be doing?” I asked.
The detective paused for a moment, thinking. “Have you thought about making fliers to post around with her photo? I’ve also heard some people have had success in similar situations by posting on social media.”
“Those are very helpful suggestions,” I said as I looked across the table at the detective, “Thank you.”
“Also,” he continued, “Do you happen to have a recent photo of Hanna that we can have a copy of? We got a pretty good description of both she and the suspect last night, but a visual will be much more useful,” he explained.
“Of course. I’m a photographer, I can get you some photos that I just took  yesterday when we got here.” I responded.
“That would be great,” he said as he slid his hand across the table, “Here is my card. You can send those right to my email and I will distribute them to all of our officers and contacts.” the detective said.
“Thank you,” I said.
The first 8 chapters can be read on Kindle Vella with a new chapter released every Friday

i finished reading your story and i must say that, while it's alright, there's so many plot holes because the characters made irrational decisions and didn't think logically 100% of the time. consider fixing this next time please

Good Morning
I woke up an hour earlier than normal today from a random dream and immediately knew what I needed to do for my current work in progress to fix some issues I was having with pacing, had a clear plan for how to write another idea I've been sitting on for years, and also figured out what reader magnet I'm going to start offering to get email subscribers!
Tumblr media
I'm only just now getting my coffee for the day... lol.
This was a refreshing way to wake up after struggling for the last 2+ weeks with a difficult chapter and some personal stuff that had me blocked.
I have a writing session scheduled today with a writer friend, so I am excited to bounce ideas around and see what I can come up with! I actually really feel inspired to start on the other story idea, but I don't know if I'm ready. It's such a personal story that I have hesitated to write it because I have struggled to decide how much reality to include.
The story will be fiction, for all intents and purposes, but it will be heavily influenced by some of my real-life experiences. Years of therapy helped me get to where I am today in my life, but I worry that going back to that place when writing the story may be too much for me.
At the same time though, I know how far I have come to get past that point in my life, and I feel more ready now than I ever have to share this story because I hope that it helps someone else to never be in a similar situation.
I guess I still need to do some reflection, but at least I have an idea of how I am going to approach the story when the time comes, so that's progress!

“The 84-year-old white man accused of shooting Black teen Ralph Yarl in the head for ringing the wrong doorbell “spent considerable time at home in a living room chair, watching conservative news programs at high volume,” one of his relatives told The New York Times. Klint Ludwig, a grandson of retired aircraft mechanic Andrew Lester, told the Times that his grandfather had frequently made anti-Black, anti-gay, and anti-immigrant remarks, and that he become estranged from his grandfather when Lester began spouting right-wing conspiracy theories.”
Man Accused of Shooting Ralph Yarl Held Racist, Homophobic Views: Relative
The right wing’s stochastic terrorism is working exactly as planned.

Country Breeze
[I am on vacation in Tennessee and wanted to share my morning inspiration]
I sat on the deck with my morning coffee, much better than yesterday’s coffee now that I have creamer. My insulated mug was warm in my hands as I surveyed the view from my chosen seat on the back deck.
I could hear the distant sound of traffic from the city and the occasional train horn, but from where I sat on the farm I was surrounded mainly by birds calling and the wind through the trees. The hills to my left were spotted with patches of yellow dandelions. Maple and Oak trees line the fence and a group of black cows lounged in the shade after a morning full of grazing.
Tumblr media
The chickens that supplied my breakfast clucked happily as they scratched the ground looking for bugs.
The breeze felt cool as it gently caressed my cheek. The air was just the right temperature. In the shade of the covered deck, I was comfortable in my knit sweater, but if I had moved into the sun I would have been warm enough to take it off. The breeze kept the heat of the sun dialed down just enough to really enjoy the sunshine without getting overheated.

Finding the Write Time: A Bi-Weekly Writeblr Challenge
Hello, and welcome to the start of Finding the Write Time! A bi-weekly writing challenge aimed at helping writers finish a work in a set time.
The Challenge
Use a prompt to write a complete story in 30 minutes or less. Whether it ends up being 100 words or 1000, the goal is to completely brainstorm, plan, and draft a piece of writing in a single writing session.
The Prompts
Every two weeks, I’ll post a writing prompt specifically meant for the challenge. I will try to keep them as general as possible so they can work with all kinds of fiction writing. I tend to gravitate towards dialogue, scene (ex: character A keeps a secret from character B and B finds out about it), or a collection of words (ex: light, rise, sun). Feel free to send in submissions for prompts!
How to Participate
Just let me know you want to use the prompt for that week and tag me in your work once you post it so I can read and reblog it! You could also submit it to my blog directly if you wish, or you can add your submission to a reblog on the prompt you are using. Any and all methods of submission are accepted, just let me know!
If you have any questions, feel free to check out the FAQ or send me an ask! I am still doing my 100 word experiment, but I would be happy to answer as soon as I get my writing done.
Thank you for checking out the challenge. Happy writing!
