This is so very true for my life.
I’ve had to let go slowly

The ordinary days of springtime.
I have a lot going on in my life. I work full time, am a mom, a Grammy, I have friends and I’m dating a special someone.
There’s 168 hours in my week. I fit in most things I need to do, and some things I enjoy to do. It’s a teeter totter that I work hard to balance.
There are highlights in my week. They may/may not be significant to others but they mean something to me.
When I overcome an emotion I’m wrestling with, when I reach a tiny goal within the bigger goals set out for the year, when I enforce some of the boundaries I set for myself, when I take some time out my week to care for myself or care for someone else, when I meet the goals set out at work for the week, when I see my grandchildren in person or through pictures sent by their families.
See for me, the ordinary of life is when I can feel the rain yet look forward to the sunshine. Where I can chop down a big goal into smaller more manageable goals, and where I can tell myself I’m doing the best I can and that is good enough——— no matter what is swirling around me.
Spring is here, the warmth, sunshine and growth is upon us.

I read somewhere this week, if you cannot detach from someone completely learn to “hang loose.”
That sang a song to my heart and hit chords deep in my being.
As part of my journey in letting go and allowing things to be what they are, I have purposed myself to look in the windshield of my life and not the rear view mirror.
That is one of my many purposes of my life moving forward.
Life after divorce is filled with “I haven’t done that in a long time” moments. This week was a double date to a concert and a dive bar in our area to try their very bragged on burgers! Oh was it fun and full of smiles and giggles.
And, through pictures, texts, phone calls from my adult children, friends and coworkers a reminder life goes on. Maybe not our in original plan but it moves on.

Hopping into Easter season already. This year has presented some challenges. Not ones that were not expected. There’s been alot pivots in my life over last two years.
Some days I wonder will I grieve the rest of my life for what things never were, could never be, and are truly ends.
Then there’s the new beginnings. As someone who can fall in the trap of codependency very easily, I second guess a lot. I’m a little more cynical than I used to be. I’m a little more anxious about next steps. And, I easily fall into patterns that don’t serve me well.
Sound familiar? How do I handle it?
I give myself grace. I remind myself each moment passes. Make the best decisions you can. Look to the future with optimism. Take care of my own needs first.

And time keeps moving forward…. So many fun times to share with the people we grow with
We slowly but surely let go of the things we cannot change. And, improve where we can, learn and grow.

Doing things you like is not a waste of time. Watching series, playing video games, listening to podcasts, being creative etc. If it makes you happy, it doesn't matter that you're not productive during that time, what matters is that you are enjoying yourself, generating happiness. Those are the BEST moments. Chilling, relaxing, having fun. Don't let people guilt you into not enjoying the best parts of your day.
