i know 'steamer benrey' isnt a new headcanon or anything but it'd genuinely be perfect for his character after hlvrai. i like to think he doesnt bother trying to hide his inhuman qualities because nobody thinks anything on the internet is real anymore. they see him manipulate the game in impossible ways in real time and just think he's really good with computers. they think sweet voice is just really tactical vape smoke & tell him to do colours. they see him levitate shit on facecam and assume hes a master of practical effects. plus he gets PAID to play heavenly sword
last image is how he'd sleep in his shitty apartment i think. just a single mattress with a tablecloth and one pillow on the floor in the middle of the room. he only sleeps bc he's bored waiting to stream again

i wasn't going to post this at all because I really do not like how gordon looks in this (Started with his body and drew his head in after? he is so long) but i'm waiting for HLVRAI2 to start streaming and i'm BUZZING with adrenaline. something i started last night! about 4 ish hours of work, probably. audio is spliced by yours truly :0)
maybe i will finish it (probably not) but lots of hlvrai content to come

HI!!
hello everybody! it has been a... significant amount of time since i last posted- whoops ':0]
i've gotten a ton of asks and even a few very sweet dms asking where i am and what the status of the comic is, and for that i am very appreciative!
i'll answer some FAQs real quick here:
Q: where have you been?
A: college.. doing horrible terrible college things that were very overwhelming and ever so soul-crushing (they really don't play about art school.) luckily i'm on my winter break now and i have a solid amount of me-time again. i have not created anything non-school related in months!
Q: what happened to the comic?
A: temporarily unofficial hiatus i guess? i always did intend to continue it whenever i had spare time over the semester, and i even drafted scripts for parts... but i ended up having zero spare time at all :0(
Q: when is the next part?
A: i can't say for sure, but sometime this month- hopefully before the new year! i have everything done except for the actual drawings. right now we are looking at about 55 panels to this new special part featuring a crossover guest you all are very familiar with ;0P i am trying to prevent burnout by focusing art on stuff that i am 100% super passionate about, and while i do want to finish this comic i have to say my hyperfixation on welcome home has certainly subdued after all this time.
Q: will you be posting more?
A: yes, if all goes well! again, i'm trying to prevent burnout, so we'll see about how much i put out, but i'm excited to get back into drawing for myself again before the next semester starts. i gotta say though- i predict that my posts for the next short while will be focused around half life VR AI, because hlvrai 2 drops tomorrow! i'm really excited for that, so expect tons of fanart. there will be intermittent welcome home demon au stuff sprinkled in here and there for you patient folks too, don't worry!

I’VE REACHED MY GOAL!!
I wanted to rb right away just to let people know that I have what I need to order the drive, thanks to several incredible and generous people. I’m completely overcome with emotion right now, not just at the fact that people wanted to help me, someone they’ve never met- but also because of how quickly you all jumped in too. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every single one of you. I won’t give up on this au, and I’m probably going to remember this for the rest of my life <333 take care of yourselves!
DEMON AU UPDATE: everything's dead (somewhat of a vent)
not to alarm you, just to grab your attention
some readers might've noticed that i've brought up problems with my laptop before- unfortunately, the ol' thing totally kicked the bucket yesterday and is now completely beyond repairing.
Unfortunately, it died unexpectedly and I don't have a backup of my stuff for about a years worth. This of course includes the entirety of the demon au, my pages that were in progress, and every other thing I had planned for tumblr.
I'm already working from a new laptop- it was mandatory to buy one for college, so I guess things worked out in that regard- but honestly I've been really depressed about exactly how much I lost. A year and a half isn't a lot of time until it's as though it's never happened.
I keep realizing small things that are now gone forever- custom brushes I relied on, my own fonts, tons and tons of memories. I'm honestly feeling really blindsided by the whole thing. To make matters worse, things are looking dire in the way of online recovery- I lost my Firefox account and all the data that was stored on there, and I'm 70 bucks out on the battery replacement that killed the laptop in the first place on top of the 2k the new laptop cost. I'm in a really dire position right now, and it's really hard for me to look at the positives although I'm really trying my best. So I just wanted to announce that until I can get my bearings, I'm gonna have to put the demon au on a short/indefinite hiatus.
I'm sorry folks, but it gets worse. I really, really hate to do this, but I'm not doing well financially as a result of all this, and if i have any hope of recovering any of my data it's by taking the HDD off my old laptop and putting it into an adapter to hopefully move things to my new system. I'm trying to save up for this $20 adapter right now <-
If you're able, I would appreciate from the bottom of my heart if you could drop a few bucks into my ko-fi here:
I've made a goal for the 20 necessary for the adapter, so you know when I've reached the amount.
I hate the idea of asking people to donate to strangers over the internet, so I will draw a doodle of your choice for any donation amount of any value if you are able to donate. Otherwise, I completely understand, and I appreciate you so much for reading this far!
UPDATE: @himboextraordinaire did an absolutely incredible thing and just donated the entire 20 I needed to order the adapter. I'm incredibly overcome with emotion over this, and I'll be removing the link to my ko-fi just to make sure no one donates by accident.
