Are you ever going to update your “simple things, honest souls” fic on Ao3? Because i recently reread it and really enjoyed it

Thank you for reading, and it makes me super happy to hear you enjoyed it! :D I really, really, really hope I'll be able to update it at some point. I'm pretty sure I've got at least one-third of the next chapter already written. It's just that life stuff is really taking its toll on me right now, and I haven't been able to write anything except for the very occasional one-shot. And at the moment, I have no idea when things might get better or easier. I'm just doing my best to take things day by day, trying not to drown when the waves start to get more turbulent. :( But I love Simple Things, Honest Souls, and I really hope that one day I'll be able to make more progress on it. Just so y’all know: I can’t speak for every other fic author but I can say that I remember when people leave me kind comments. I recognize your urls and/or usernames on AO3. I remember you and sometimes in writing my fics I think to myself, “Oh, I hope this person sees this because they liked x in this other fic I did.”

Not only that—I go back and reread comments when I’m feeling low. I look at tags and reblogs and asks and wish I could hold them in my hand like a note from a friend on an old, torn piece of notebook paper.

Are you still updating your vampire White Rose fan fic? I'm a little new to Tumblr, but if I read it correctly your last post on here was from 2021, and the fanfic, The Fate We Choose, was last updated in 2020. So I just want to check, because that was honestly one of the best fanfics I have ever read, and I can't wait to read more.

My apologies for the late response. Social energy has been at an all-time low these days. 😔

I haven’t dropped The Fate We Choose. I still hope to finish writing it at some point. In fact, the next chapter is pretty much outlined and ready to be written. I just haven’t had the energy or been in a good enough mindset to work on it. On top of that, real life has been really bumpy this past year, and I was already struggling with burnout and writer’s block even before that. So my boat was already rocking and then life decided to send a storm my way, and I’ve been using up all my energy to deal with that instead.

But hey, the good news is that things have settled down just a little. They’re still not great, but I have slowly been getting back into writing for the first time in ages. I’m not quite ready to jump back into Fate or any of my multi-chapter fics, but I’ve been working on a few WR one-shots that I hope everyone will enjoy when I get around to finishing and posting them.

But most of all, I just want to thank you and everyone else for being so patient with me as I try to handle all the ups and downs in my life. I know how disappointing it can be to find a story you like only to never see an update for ages, and you all have been wonderful about waiting. Thank you for reading. Thank you for liking my writing enough to reach out and let me know. It means the world to me. 💕
