Teiwaz: 01/01/20
In addition to my tarot draw for the new year (which was Wheel of Fortune! How fitting), my rune draw provided me with Teiwaz: The Creator.
What does this mean?
Ultimately, this is an extremely positive rune signifying victory in battle and success in competition. Teiwaz can promise us success in our actions but this time without personal sacrifice. From a spiritual perspective, Tiwaz represents a spiritual breakthrough that awakens new levels of understanding.
Drawing this rune reminds me that as long as I try this upcoming year, great things will come my way! Particularly because I drew the Wheel of Fortune from my tarot deck as well.

Wheel of Fortune: 01/01/20
Seems fitting that my draw for the new year is the upright Wheel of Fortune!
What does this mean?
This card is about luck, change, and fortune. The wheel symbolizes life is always changing -- if you’re going through a rough patch, remember that it will end! Good luck and fortune will come in time. “This cycle shows why it is so important to cherish the blissful moments in your life and make the most of them while they are within reach – because in a flash they could be gone.” (Biddy Tarot) However, even when in a period of good fortune, life will return to normal. It also reminds us that karma comes back always, don’t forget it!

Fir
Ogham Letter: A Ogham Name: Ailm Ogham Tree Meaning: Clarity, Achievement, Energy
Symbolizes:
Fairness
Progress
Dedication
Honesty
Longevity
Resilience
Friendship
Perceptiveness
Remembrance
The fir was one of the sacred woods the Druids and Celts would use for Sabbat fires. They were held in high esteem and stood for a symbol for truth, honesty and fairness. This is because the fir grows “straight and narrow” and the trunk reminds us of a tall pillar of strength, thus for a symbol of truth. It is also a symbol for friendship, since the firs usually grow together in groups. Since they never loose their green vibrancy they are a reminder of the life-long connections that we make.      The fir also signifies hope, promise and renewal in the midst of winter. The fir also survives challenging weather and substandard soils and this is a symbol of endurance and determination. It is recognized for its ability to out live other trees, which represents resilience and longevity. The fit was also used to predict the weather,  the cones would open up when its sunny and would close against the rain. This lent meaning to prophecy and perception to its long list of symbolic meanings.     Ancient Celtic legends say that firs were used to mark graves for important members of the community. They could be identified as graves of great chieftains and heroes from great distances. This makes them also a symbol of reverence and remembrance to the brave souls.

Astrological Dates 2020 (EST)
Tumblr media
Imbolc: 4 February 2020, 03:55
Exactly in between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Commonly celebrated 2 February, it is the day the Sun crosses the middle degree of Aquarius: The Water Bearer (15°). This sabbat coincides with Catholic Candlemas, and is often celebrated similarly. We light candles to help bring us out of the darkness and into the light of the new year.
Ostara: 19 March 2020, 23:55
Beginning with the Sun in Aries: The Ram (0°), the first of the Zodiac wheel, we celebrate the first of the fire elementals. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, Ostara is the first day of spring, and a fertility celebration begins. This sabbat coincides with Catholic Easter, also a time of regeneration and being “born again.” This sabbat is commonly celebrated 21 March.
Beltane: 4 May 2020, 20:49
In the middle of the spring equinox and the summer solstice, Beltane starts at the midpoint of Taurus: The Bull (15°). At this point, spring is in full swing, and we are sowing the seeds not only of fertility, but also: projects, relationships, and more. This sabbat coincides with the Catholic May Day, a celebration of the Virgin Mary. This sabbat is commonly celebrated 1 May.
Litha: 20 June 2020, 17:44
The longest day of the year, the summer solstice marks the Sun at the beginning of Cancer: The Crab (0°). For three days, the Sun appears to stand still; for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun finishes its Northern journey and heads South. This sabbat stands on its own throughout the world, and the celebrations are unique to all traditions! This sabbat is commonly celebrated 21 June.
Lughnasadh (Lammas): 6 August 2020, 21:04
One of my favourite sabbats, Lammas begins when the Sun crosses the midpoint of Leo: The Lion (15°), between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox. The first of the fall harvest festivals, we begin transitioning from the heat of summer and harvest the fruits of our labours. This is a Gaelic festival, so its unique in its traditions. This sabbat is commonly celebrated 1 August.
Mabon: 22 September 2020, 09:31
The official first day of autumn, the Sun starts in Libra: The Weighing Scales (0°). The day and night are equal, and we bring the light into our homes in preparation for the upcoming darkness. We need reflect and regain balance in our lives. It is another holiday celebrated by many cultures, and is worth researching if you are interested in a specific discipline! This sabbat is commonly celebrated 21 September.
Samhain: 7 November 2020, 17:56
The veil is at its thinnest in between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, when the Sun passes the midpoint of Scorpio: The Scorpion (15°). Considered the Witches New Year, Scorpio is about transformation and allows us to speak to the other side, when the veil is at its thinnest. At this point, the ancient farmers slaughtered animals they did not plan to keep through the winter, so we symbolically rid ourselves of things we no longer need or serve us. This sabbat is commonly celebrated 31 October - 1 November.
Yule: 21 December 2020, 05:02
The longest night of the year, the Sun starts in at Capricorn: The Goat (0°). From here on out, the days become longer. We rest, as nature does during hibernation, and allow ourselves to ready for rebirth in the spring. This sabbat coincides with Christmas, which also represents the birth of something new. This sabbat is commonly celebrated 21 December.

Elder
Ogham Letter: R Oghame Name: Ruis Ogham Tree Meaning: Transition, Evolution, Continuation
Symbolizes:
Judgement
Transformation
Regeneration
Fate
Death
Cycles
Rebirth
Renewal
Creativity
The elder trees ruling time is within the cycle of the thirteenth moon. The thirteenth moon is also the end of the year at the time of Samhain. This is where it derives its symbolism of ending and/or death. The Druids and the Celts recognized the elder tree had natural banishing abilities. The essence of the leave and the odor of the flowers were proven to ward of insects. This is were the Celts got hanging the branches of the elder tree over their doors to ward away evil.      The elder tree was recognized as a prized medicinal tree. Everything from the bark to the berries were used to treat ailments of all manners. The Celts honored the elder tree for the gifts of good health.      The elder tree was known as a transformative Celtic symbol because its associated with the realm of the faeries. Celtic lore indicates that if you stand near an elder tree on midsummers eve the land of the faeries will be revealed to you. Faeries also love music, particularity the music played from a flute made of the wood from an elder tree.

How I Use Energy Work in Every Day Life
💫 When I take showers I imagine the energy that comes with the water flowing through me and mixing with my energy to pick up impurities/bad energy and wash it down the drain at my feet.
💫 This one is a bit harder but I read signs in the energy field in the general universe when I take tests if I don't know the answer on a test. The energy feels different on right answers (again this was is very difficult and I in no way have perfected it, but on several tests I changed a wrong answer to a right answer through this)
💫 Reading people's energy. I have never had to deal with fake friends and being betrayed because I can very easily read the energy of other people when they are around me. I can feel the difference when someone is being fake or toxic. To be fair there are still "friends" that have this energy, I'm just not close to them cause I can feel their intentions are not good.
💫 Nature's energy. Just feeling the energy of changing seasons. This isn't really using the energy in any way unless I am doing a ritual that requires that energy or using it to charge/cleanse items which brings us to the next topic
💫Cleansing. This is the easiest way to use energy work, and this is the main way I cleansed things when I don't use moonlight or sunlight. Its simply using your energy (and the energy around you) to pour into an object (like tarot cards or crystals) and burning out the bad energy. I've also gathered bad energy into my hands, like when I'm cleansing a space like a room or altar, and push it lut the window. The bad energy will be naturally cleansed by the environment
💫 Spells. Most of my spells are energy work more than anything else since my spells focus on sending some of your energy with what you desire (you're reasons for doing the spell) and the universe using that energy to make it happen in your life.
Energy work helps a lot on your life once you learn how to use it! The best way to learn is a lot of practice with meditation and visualization in order to feel your own energy. It is nearly impossible to do energy work if you cannot feel your own energy.
