Iris needs one too. Girl is Hera's handmaiden, Olympus' other messenger, fetching water from the Styx, replenishing clouds everyday, literally has to sleep next to Hera's throne in case she is called suddenly.
I believe that out of all the Greek gods, Hermes deserves a year-long vacation! He is the most overworked god on Olympus! Zeus' herald, the gods' messenger or even post-man, the one who brings the souls of the dead to the Underworld....
I mean... Give him some rest Zeus! His winged sandals are begging for some sand in the Bahamas!

Look I respect the art of past ages, but it's the 21st century and personally I'd like to see less depictions of the Greek Muses as ethereal sexually objectified fairy women, and more art of Thalia doing stand-up

The music gene is strong in the Herrans family >:))))
Can we talk about how amazing Jorge’s mom can sing? Cause not only was it a heartbreaking moment, but her voice is so pretty too?!

On board with this one! Jay is always honest about Epic being a LOOSE ADAPTATION of The Odyssey and keep it at that. Unlike some authors acting like their work is equal to if not better than the works of Homer (I'm not joking)
Another thing I love about Jay is when he changed something from The Odyssey in his musical, the changes actually serve a meaningful purpose: displaying the different levels on the "Open Arms - Ruthlessness" scale with the end lesson being embrace ruthlessness to protect yourselves and others, all while still giving the characters the complexity they deserve. Poseidon is ruthless but still a respected god (and made a good point too), Circe turns men into pigs but it's to protect her nymphs.
All while the other retellings... I can't tell what their behind thoughts were when they made the changes but they could have done it better.
also like kudos to mr Jorge Rivera-Herrans and his team because Epic the Musical feels like the only ancient greek-inspired medium I've encountered so far that doesn't fetishise, appropriate and misrepresent ancient Greece, and as a greekTM myself I really appreciate that??? Breath of fresh air after the personal hell that's Madeline Miller's & Rick Riordan's works.

Circe: I've so graciously spared them and yet one still die 🙄
Fun fact about the underworld saga:
‘558 men who died under your command’ from The Underworld, combined with ‘43 left under your command’ from Ruthlessness, doesn’t add up to 600 men.
Which means that the guy who fell off Circe’s roof and died is canon to Epic the musical.

Girl if I actually hear Astyanax's crying I will cry myself even harder. Anticlea was already a deadly blow to me but the BABY?!!! I can't take it....
I really love the fact that Odysseus doesn't hear a baby crying while in the Underworld in Epic despite fearing it. In a way, I'd like to think that Astyanax/Scamandrius isn't crying because he's being comforted by Hector.

I really hope polites and anticlea don't have verses in the underworld because it will do irreparable damage to my psyche

Okay so here are my thoughts for the underworld saga:
1. Anticlea. Give me anticlea
2. So we hear odysseus say "circe's instructions were clear". It's probably just referencing some off-screen moments and we most likely won't hear circe but hey. It's fun
3. Just a man motif haunting the entire saga
4. OPEN ARMS REPRISE. or just polites in general. My bet is that it would be after odysseus says "i keep thinking of the infant from that night", because in the cut song "ismarus" that's when polites approaches him
5. Maybe we even hear penelope and telemachus but i doubt that one. Then again i do not trust jay

Zeus: Hades, man! Come join us in tormenting this Odysseus guy!
Poseidon: Yeah, he's coming to your kingdom next. It's your turn now!
Hades: I don't know, seems a little unethical-
Persephone: *pushes Hades aside* Sounds fun! Can I join?
