It’s not Gotham news- just- random cops arresting people.

I’m very confused.

Going to a new dentist is always a journey. I was asked by a little old lady if I consider my teeth fangs.

I mean- I’ve never given it much thought?

Not sure if this was a normal question in Gotham? Is it a bat thing?

Mind you - that only really goes for the students that have been here over a year or two. Some folks end up building a decent resistance. (Unfortunately I'm not one of them ;-;)

There was a fear gas attack on the subway, and this group of college kids was just. Completely unaffected. They said that Scarecrow needed to "step it up." Are... are you guys okay? Are midterms really that bad?

Its weather events like these that make me realize just how sun-avoidant native gothamites are. I heard that one of the dorms is handing out sunscreen to students now at the university. Meanwhile I'm over here in short sleeves for the first time in almost a year. Gothic is a madman - I don't care HOW warm it is - i'm one shade off from printer paper - and am NOT risking sunburn. --Tobias

poison ivy showed up at my school again today. no one saw her but we all know she was there because she turned everything even remotely plant-based in our school lunch into weird little creatures

OOC POST! Should i share an official ref for Gothic? I have art of him (he's based on my D&D character IRL) - so I COULD if I wanted to.... just have to modernize him.

I saw these posters hanging around the Gotham U campus earlier today. I don't know who would think this is a good idea, but I must admit... The batman ears on the ghost blob is pretty funny.

I love both ideas so much. If you go this way - how is Jack recruited? Is it another college buddy that is out of commission for a while and realized that he just so happens to know that Jack has the EXACT degree requirements to fill his shoes? Imagine this professor saying "Jack Fenton knows this exact material - heck, the guy pioneered XYZ techniques in his home lab." and the Gotham U board is hesitant until that professor points out that the guy comes from a background working with local vigilantes (according to the resume they convinced Jack to send in) The board is just "Yes. This one. Perfect. One less person to have to worry about scaring the bats." Only for them to find out that his "working with vigilantes" wasn't "helping in investigations in a controlled lab setting" (like forensic science sort of chemistry) - it was chasing Phantom into the fray with blasters and a homemade tank.

Mr. Fenton is a competent teacher. Almost too competent.

If Mr. Daniel Fenton had any more than a BS (with a minor in education), Tim would’ve flagged his profile as a potential Rogue. That’s the way of most charismatic academics, at least in Gotham. (Got a PhD? Instant watchlist.) Instead, he’s Gotham Academy’s newest celebrity, as a young, passionate, out-of-towner substitute while the chemistry teacher’s on maternity leave.

Tim gets the hype. Fenton seems to genuinely love teaching, and is invested in the welfare of the student body. He hands out bananas during exam week, hosts a “study habits seminar” each month to coach effective learning strategies, and the third time Tim falls asleep in his class, he even pulls Tim aside to ask if he’s doing okay. With all the late work he accepts and the protein bars he sneaks Tim, he’s every teen vigilante’s dream teacher. He could’ve been Tim’s favorite.

In fact, Mr. Fenton was Tim��s favorite. Up until Tim walks into Mr. Fenton’s chemistry classroom for a forgotten textbook, an hour after the final bell.

On the board where tallied scores for today’s review game had been kept, “THE CHEMISTRY BEHIND DR. CRANE’S FEAR GAS: ANXIOGENICS, NERI’S, & YOU,” is now scrawled. A detailed diagram of the human endocrine system projects in front of a small crowd of adoring and attentive students.

Fenton is wrist-deep in the skull cavity of an anatomical model. A short tug, and out pops the brain.

It’s plastic. It’s fake.

Tim identifies the nearest emergency exit.

Fenton turns to the door, and in the dark classroom with the projector illuminating half his face, his eyes almost seem to flash red. “What’s up, Tim?” he asks. His friendly grin is too big for his face. “I didn’t know you wanted to join the Just Science League!”

[OR: Danny’s a science teacher at Tim’s school. Gotham’s a pretty wild place, even for someone who grew up a superhero in a ghost-infested town, so he takes it upon himself to start a club teaching kids how to manage themselves in the event of a crisis. These Gothamites are pretty hardy, but a little extra training never hurt anybody! And he suspects one of his students might be a teen vigilante, like he’d been, back in the day. As a senior super, it's Danny’s duty look out for him! Surely, this is the subtlest and most appropriate way to give the kid pointers.]

[Tim immediately assumes supervillain.]

(In character post) Sorry I havent been posting much! I have had some big life developments. That apartment I was talking about? I am in the process of moving in. Rogue activity in the area is spiking - but that is just - part of life. I brought Mango with me (the stray pittie that lived in the alley behind my old apartment), and she has fallen in love with being a couch potato pooch.

Outside of that, I've reached the point in my education where I am looking into internships, I'm still deciding if I want to intern here in the city or not.

If I leave the city I will likely need to move for a semester or more - I actually have a company in Central City offering me an internship with their botanical research program as an example.

The only real option here in the city is with Wayne Enterprises - I do like the work they are doing, but I already have people concerned about my work with Fin (one of Ivy's carnivorous plants I've been studying for a thesis paper). I haven't fully decided, because as chaotic as Gotham is - after you have been here a while... other places just feel strange.

We can confirm that the recording/sound rooms at Gotham U's multimedia department are soundproofed enough for naps - but not for proper rest. You need a student ID to access them tho. The dorms are working on coming up with a solution for students.

Been pretty chaotic lately, won't lie. But nothing we haven't seen before. I've been working on my finals so far - (essay/research based) and its keeping me very busy! XD
