4 years ago today I lost a student. He wasn't just any student, he was a role model, a fighter, one who stood up for the weak, was passionate about his art, loved his family and called me Mr. Poo Poo Head. He was brought to me at school a quiet and broken kid who has seen more than his share of trauma. We talked often, daily if not 3 periods a day. . We sometimes sat at lunch and said nothing. He stalked me on Facebook and shared my photos with his sister. He was one of those kids that once you got to know him, you would never forget him. And then tragedy struck. At just shy of 16, he was taken from this Earth early. He left behind so much due to the impact he had on others. Those he lifted up with his words, those he shared a kind written word to, those he gave his art to, those he stood up for and those he loved all have a piece of him to hold on to for the rest of their lives. From a year ago: Change happens based on the amount of effort you put into it. Self discipline and internal drive also plays a huge part.
