Been a while since I’ve posted anything, sorry about that guys. But one of my posts has just been overrun by likes from bots, so I’m gonna private it so they can kindly stay the f*ck away from my blog. Dunno why it’s just the one post but I’m kinda grateful. Would be a lot happier if tumblr did anything about the bot issues, but hey, they haven’t been doing anything for years, why would they start now.

I’m honestly so excited for volume 9, because I’m certain Ruby and Blake are gonna end up together since they fell at the same time, and so we’re gonna have some episodes of “Yo, we’re friends, but let’s bond and become in-separable in the way only two people can when they’re stranded on an island together, looking for their friends and share an unwavering love for the same person.” Admittedly, Ruby might not be down for Blake making love eyes while talking about her sister, but she loves them both, so it’s worth it

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try… You aren’t fast enough to save them.

I um. Ya’ll can call it cringe all you like. But there’s a Yang shaped hole in my heart, and I’m not sure I can recover any time soon.

So, are they still Nuts and Dolts? Or are they just, Dolts?

There has been some absolutely beautiful scenes in the latest episode, the one between Yang and Ruby being an absolute favourite. But something about what Yang said has been sticking with me, when she mentioned needing Optimism, because otherwise they’ve already lost. That they need Hope. It reminded me so heavily of back in volume 4 when Blake was telling Sun how she saw the members of her team as personifications of words. Purity, Defiance and Strength.

Going through the volumes, Blake has watched Yang’s struggles first hand, being the cause of some of them. But she’s also watched Yang only get stronger, being by her side to support her through some of the worst of it. Coming to Atlas, she’s watched Weiss defy everything thrown at her, to the point she’s finally reached a point of a stable sense of self, where she can say with confidence that she knows who she is and what she stands for, even standing by her side as she stood up to her own father. But as time goes on, she’s only been able to watch Ruby’s purity crumble and wither. I can only imagine the talk she had with her (which was gorgeous by the way) was inspired by this, but it’s still unsettling. They’re all watching this change, scared and worried, but this feels so much more personal to Blake, even if her and Ruby don’t have the closest of relationships, because she was once that girl. And for that reason alone I am desperate to know what’s going on in Blake’s head, because if someone who has gone through this themselves doesn’t know how to stop the decline

Then what hope do the others have to stop it.

It is possible that Blake’s dream was the same as Ruby’s but it was destroyed in a cruel world.

Blake seeing her younger self in Ruby’s ambition.

To believe that the world can be saved through justice and innocence.

On one hand, she is afraid the world will hurt Ruby, but on the other hand, she hopes that ruby will never give up her dream.

I um... REALLY liked that scene in the newest episode. (Shame it didn’t get to unfold)
