“you are in love.. true love.”

CHAPTER THREE

“wake up, sleeping beauty.”

hyunjjn continued to tap your shoulder until you turned over and whined for him to go away.

“what is it-“

“your parents were calling you. you have work in an hour and they made you breakfast.”

you immediately sat up from your bed, your heart pounding as you realized that you had work with the yang family today.

“why didn’t you wake me up earlier?!”

hyunjin chuckled as he made the bed you created for him the previous evening before.

“i tried.” hyunjin shrugged his shoulders as he stood to the side, watching you pace back and forth in your bedroom.

while you were stressed about possibly missing work, you also realized that hyunjin was still in your bedroom.

“but what about you? i can’t leave you in my room all day.”

“i’m leaving, i’ll just go out the window.”

all you could’ve said was a simple yes, but you were worried about him. would he return home? will he keeping hiding?

why do i care so much?

hyunjin saw the worried look on your face and immediately reassured you.

“don’t worry. i’m going home. i had time to think about everything last night.“

you walked over to him, staring into his beautiful eyes as relief yet curiosity still was upon you.

“will you be okay?”

“I’ll be okay. avoiding my family more would only make things worse.”

before you could turn and finish with preparing your uniform, hyunjin smirked and pointed at you.

“you’re worried about me, aren’t you?”

feeling flustered, you denied his question.

“not at all, don’t get your hopes up.” you lied. you were worried about him.

hyunjin laughed, as he leaving to return home.

“don’t miss me too much, y/n.”

you were not in the mood to work today. your shift today was two hours longer than usual.

at the yang family’s household, you just finished preparing for the family and their guests.

sitting down at the table, you took a few minutes to have a break. it was very much needed.

suddenly, the yang family’s son, jeongin walks into the living room and admires your hard work of arranging everything in the household for their party tonight.

your family and the yang family have been close for the past three years. you were glad that you were able to be yourself around jeongin.

while with other families, you were extremely professional at all times.

“you should join us for the event today. you’ve worked hard.”

as much as you wanted to say yes, you declined the offer.

“thank you, but i am really tired today.”

“really? i’m sorry to hear that.”

jeongin pulled out a chair and sat next to you, as you asked about the party just to make your break longer.

“if i’m being honest, i’m not sure why my family is hosting another event. my father received a call from the hwang family.”

after mentioning the hwang family, you were fully paying attention.

“well.. do you know what your father talked about on the phone?”

“my, aren’t you a curious one? i don’t know much. all i know is my family and their family are gathering, since prince hyunjin returned home.”

so prince hyunjin really did go home.

you really wanted to see him again. you didn’t know when you would. maybe.. you should go to this party after all.

“actually, i think attending this party would be better instead of staying home. i’ll be there.”

jeongin smiled, clasping his hands together. “wonderful, i’m looking forward to it.”

with that being said, jeongin stood up from his seat and left the room.

as you continued to arrange some things in the household, you started questioning why you were so desperate to see prince hyunjin again.

why do i want to see prince hyunjin so badly?

and why can’t i stop thinking about him?

the party was full of more people in the household than you expected.

luckily, your home wasn’t so far away from the yang household, so you were able to change into something different.

you wore a long red dress with sparkles and a leg split.

you stood to the side while you watched people talk. you didn’t want to bother jeongin, since he was currently with his own company.

he introduced you to them earlier, but you declined the offer to spend time with them.

why did i come to this party?

you started walking in the hallway, walking towards the music room to hear the live piano.

before you could fully turn into the music room, you accidentally bump into someone.

“be careful there, princess.”

you looked up, seeing prince hyunjjn right in front of you. and his hair… was black!

he looked so handsome, wearing an all-black suit.

hyunjin wasn’t surprised to see you because jeongin told him that you would be here.

he was greeting guests, so he wasn’t able to try to find you immediately like he wanted.

“what.. are you doing here?” you asked, even though you knew why.

“i was invited. and what about you?”

you looked down, remembering that hyunjin had his hands on your waist a minute ago. he had caught you before you fully fell forward after accidentally bumping into you.

you cleared your throat, trying to shake off the thought.

“i was invited too.”

hyunjin wanted to talk to you somewhere else since it was very loud in the household. before he could ask you to go somewhere else, someone appears behind hyunjin.

“hyunjin, who is this?”

you froze, making an eye contact with a woman. he looks exactly like her. she must be his mother.

he stood next to you and smiled warmly.

“this is y/n. i’m planning on marrying her.”

— reuniting with spiderman! jisung after his month long mission.

⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅

“mr. stark said that the mission should only be a few weeks.”

you were cuddling with your boyfriend, jisung on the couch of your apartment. you both decided to watch romantic comedy movies.

jisung was always out late, he is spiderman after all. so, you cherished this moment as much as you could.

with his arms wrapped around your waist and his head was laying on your shoulder, you played with jisung’s brown curly hair as he continued telling you about his upcoming mission, completely forgetting about the movie playing in the back.

his missions were never long, the most he’s been away was two days. knowing that this mission was more than just a few days, made you tear up.

as you were trying to hold back your tears, jisung looked up at you after hearing your sniffles.

“babe, what’s the matter?”

he sat up immediately, interlocking his hands with yours.

“i.. i’m sorry. i’m gonna miss you when you leave for your mission.”

he took your hand and held it up to his lips, placing a soft kiss on your knuckles.

“i promise, i’ll be back as soon as possible. i’ll miss you too.”

he took his other hand and wiped the tears falling down your face. he showed you a warm smile.

“and when i return, i’ll take you to your favorite cafe, okay?”

you nodded and showed him a smile back, “sounds good.”

as the time almost reached midnight, you wore jisung’s hoodie and drank a cup of hot chocolate as the cold weather took over your apartment.

it’s been a month since the last time you saw jisung. you both kept in contact with each other on a daily basis.

texts, but mostly facetimes.

all you wanted to do was hold jisung in your arms. you missed his voice, his presence.. you needed him.

delivered to ji ❤️

sent: goodnight, my love | 11:47PM

as you sat on your bed after texting jisung, you heard a tap on the window.

you gasped, as the sudden tapping scared you. walking carefully to your window, you see the one you’ve missed most.

you unlock the window, letting jisung into your apartment. he was still wearing his spiderman suit.

“jisung!” you hugged him as the familiar scent of blue cedar wrapped around you.

hugging you back, jisung held you close to him.

before he could, you take his mask off, revealing his handsome features on his face. oh, you were so in love with him.

jisung kissed you passionately after you put his spiderman mask on your bed. after pulling away from the kiss, han cupped your face with his hands.

while smiling, he looks at you. “my pretty love. i missed you.”

“i missed you so much more. how was your mission?”

jisung sat on your bed, patting the covers to show that he wants you to sit next to him.

so you did, and he told you everything about the mission. he explained everything between tony stark and steve rogers.

because of their differences, the mission was changed constantly and with the result of continuing longer than it should’ve.

“i’m so proud of you ji, thank you for protecting me and so many others.”

he kissed your forehead, “thank you for being by my side.”

you yawned, showing that you were sleepy. jisung noticed and pulled the covers back, tucking you both in.

you laid your head on his chest and held him closely to you.

“hey, ji?”

“hm?”

“you know you can use the front door, right?” you joked, as you heard his chuckle.

“i know, but i wanted to make a cool entrance.”

you chuckled with him, as you both closed your eyes and fell asleep in each other’s arms.

chapter one

“by your side, i’ll be your seasons.”

CHAPTER TWO

“you’re..”

you didn’t know how to react. even though you were shocked, you stayed in the same place and continued making eye contact with him.

“you’re telling my family that i’m on the balcony, aren’t you?” hyunjin asked, putting his hair up in a ponytail.

“no.. i have no reason to.”

you really had some questions to ask him. before you can ask, hyunjin quickly hides around the corner on the opposite side of the balcony.

hyunjin spotted a few of his bodyguards from the lower level. he didn’t want to be seen, so he hid further away from the main enterance of the ballroom.

you followed, completely unsure as to why he suddenly started hiding.

“okay, what are you doing?”

“i just saw my bodyguards. i’m sure they’re looking for me.”

hyunjin was sitting on the floor with his back against the cold wall. you sat down next to him, still having questions for him.

“but.. why are you hiding?”

hyunjin sighed, “it’s a long story.”

“so tell me.”

that’s when hyunjin explained everything to you. his family was rushing him to get married. rushing him so much that if hyunjin didn’t propose to anyone at tonight’s ball, his family would arrange the marriage themselves.

the family allowed hyunjin to pick his own wife, but his answer was always no. at first, he used to feel horrible about rejecting the girls.

now, it’s something he’s used to and says no without any hesitation.

hyunjin decided to sneak out of his home and stayed with his bestfriend, seungmin, last night. to avoid being recognized, hyunjin also temporarily dyed his hair blonde.

since this morning, his family has been looking for him. postponing the ball was not an option since it was last minute. the hwang family attended the ball anyways, with plans to push back the proposals.

“wow.. that must be overwhelming.”

he sighs again, getting up from sitting down on the ground. “it is. i just wish things were.. different.”

continuing to watch the stars sparkle in the sky, you both sat in a comfortable silence.

the ball should be ending soon, which means you should be making your way back inside.

there was still so much more that you wanted to know about him. you may never have this opportunity again.

“are you going home tonight?”

hyunjin shrugged his shoulders, unsure of his own answer. “i should, but i don’t think i will.”

“and where will you be staying?”

before he could open his mouth to answer, realization came to him when he realized that his family could possibly show up at seungmin’s house to ask about him.

you laughed, “so you’re just running around and hiding without a plan of where you’re staying tonight?”

“i’ll be fine.”

for some reason.. you wanted to help him. you didn’t understand his life, and you never will. but he was very open and shared so much about himself when he didn’t have to.

this is the least i can do.

“you can stay with me tonight.”

he agreed to stay with you. he won’t worry about what could happen tomorrow. tonight, he just wanted to escape from reality.

—

i can’t believe i snuck prince hyunjin into my bedroom.

you and hyunjin had the entire house to yourselves.

your parents, especially your mother, may possibly be upset that you left the ball early. you had to come up with a lie somehow.

“my parents will be home soon. if they come to my door, stay quiet or the both of us won’t hear the end of it.”

hyunjin made himself comfortable by sitting on the bed you made for him with many pillows and blankets. “trust me, i will. i don’t want to be here anyway.”

you rolled your eyes at him. “so you can take your ass out of my bedroom then. the door is open.”

“i’m joking, sweetheart.” he turned himself towards you and winked.

you didn’t expect the prince of the hwang family to have such a sarcastic personality.

“joking, my ass. you’re definitely not like the princes i’ve read about in romance novels.”

“of course i’m not like them, you’re reading fiction.”

changing the topic, while hyunjin was talking to you about wishing he could stay blonde and keep his hair long, but couldn’t due to strict family rules of having short black hair to look more professional, you were removing your makeup.

minutes later, you went to the bathroom to change into your comfortable evening clothes.

when you came back, you nearly felt your jaw drop to the floor.

hyunjin is shirtless.

he was sitting up, his top sat close to your nightstand as he was drinking the glass of water that you brought him earlier.

you felt heat rise into your face.

“where’s your shirt?!”

he points to his top that was laying on the floor.

“but why did you.. take it off?”

“my top and corset was uncomfortable so i took it off and i doubt you have an extra shirt for me to sleep in.”

he has a point. but why does my face feel so hot?

while you were flustered, you pretended not to be.

“i’m going to sleep, tomorrow might be a very long day.”

you climbed in bed, already feeling the tiredness making it’s way to you. you pulled the covers over you and turned to your side to sleep comfortably.

as soon as you could close your eyes, hyunjin asks you a question.

“hey. before you sleep, i wanted to know.. what’s your name?”

“y/n.”

he nodded, a warm smile appearing on his face as he suddenly became sleepy.

hyunjin thought to himself,

that’s a beautiful name.

hyunjin, first son and the prince of the hwang family, has always disliked his popularity. attending balls was pointless. he didn’t want to become king.

y/n’s family focused on their royal duties, working for different families around their town.

she wanted to be independent and follow her own dreams. her family believes that her dreams are unrealistic, but she wants to prove them wrong.

they both had one thing in common.

wanting to truly be themselves.

CHAPTER ONE

“do i have to go?”

your mother admired the long pink-satin dress you wore in front of the mirror. as much as you loved the dress, you weren’t excited for tonight’s ball.

“yes, dear. your aunt spent a lot of time making this dress for you.”

the ends of your hair was curled and your makeup was done, as you applied an extra amount of blush.

as you looked at the time, the ball was starting soon. your mother took you to these events every month. you hated them.

at these balls, several attendees had the opportunity to potentially meet their future spouse.

you currently weren’t interested in being in a relationship.

i wish this day was over with already.

walking into the familiar setting, the ballroom was filled with new and previous attendees. the room had a scent of citrus and was covered in beautiful decor.

immediately, you found your bestfriend sitting at the nearest table. after saying hi to him, you sat down, watching the attendees dance to the jazz music playing.

you noticed that most of the girls in the room wore sky blue dresses and had their hair pinned up in a bun or ponytail.

“was the dress code today blue and no one told me?” you joked, turning to face your bestfriend, felix.

“prince hyunjin is here. there’s a lot of attendees who want to marry him, so they’re wearing his favorite color.. to impress him, i guess.” felix shrugged.

you knew about the hwang family, but didn’t have interest in them. the family only attends the balls three times a year, which isn’t much considering the fact that the balls are monthly.

prince hyunjin was tall, handsome, and good at everything. families wanted their sons to be like him. girls wanted to marry him and become queen.

however, even with hundreds of girls wanting to marry him, he still hasn’t found a wife.

“really?! that’s ridiculous.”

the dancing in the room stopped as the crowd formed groups. the families stood on the right and left side while all of the first daughters stood in the middle.

you knew your parents were looking for you, as they wanted you to also marry prince hyunjin. you weren’t interested.

you were able to avoid this for the past two balls, making this one the third.

“you’re sneaking out from the ball again?” felix asked, as he finished his appetizer.

you nodded, “yeah, don’t tell anyone you saw me.” showing you a thumbs up, felix kept his word.

luckily, the crowd was focused on the hwang family, as the king, made a speech and thanked the attendees for attending the ball.

8:00PM

outside, there was a balcony that had a perfect view of the stars. usually, you stayed there until the ball was over.

felix used to come on the balcony with you, until both of your families noticed that you and him weren’t at the ball.

your families were upset about it and talked about it non-stop for days. since then, you and felix stopped going to the balcony together.

a few minutes later, someone comes on the balcony and stands next to you. looking over, the guy had long blonde hair with a masquerade mask covering his face.

you’ve never seen him before, odd. there was awkward tension in the air, so you decided to start a conversation.

“so.. what’s your name?”

he ignored you.

okay fine, maybe he doesn’t want to talk.

“aren’t you supposed to be inside, preparing for proposals?”

you turned to him, glaring at him in disbelief. you couldn’t believe he just asked that! you crossed your arms and rolled your eyes at him.

“why do you even care?”

and why is he hiding his face?

“why else would you be at this ball?”

i had no choice.

“look, i don’t know who you are but i’m not here to become queen, get married, or whatever. i’m just here with my family.”

before he could turn away, one of the assistants from the hwang family appears on the balcony. the woman had a low bun and an all black uniform. there was worry on her face.

“excuse me, my apologies for interrupting your conversation. the hwang family doesn’t know where prince hyunjin is and has pushed back the proposals for tomorrow. if you’ve seen him, please contact us.” she shows a warm smile, not even waiting for our responses, and walks away.

prince hyunjin wasn’t at the ball?

all of a sudden, the guy is standing much closer to you. “can i trust you?”

“how could i? i’ve only known you for five minutes.”

“okay, so i know you won’t care then and tell people about this.”

what’s he talking about?

the guy lifts up his mask, revealing his entire face. you gasped, surprised at who you see. you weren’t expecting this at all.

he’s prince hyunjin!

~ hi, i decided to make this a chapter au, so there’s a storyline to follow.

~ this au is inspired by bridgerton, which is one of my favorite shows!

~ romance will happen soon. this story starts with the enemies to lovers trope.
