I’ve been hearing good reviews about the FX’s mini-series Shōgun which is based from the 1975 novel by James Clavell, and some people compare it to HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Shōgun Review by penguinz0
But why do they make the comparison with Game of Thrones? Politics and war between rival families, epic historical setting, that’s why.
And the difference between the two is that Shōgun has a better story than Game of Thrones. Less quantity, more quality. The story arcs are actually resolved. And it actually has a proper ending.
Also, allow me to also compare Shōgun to Game of Thrones’ prequel House of the Dragon. Though the mini-series may have some slight changes from the novel, the writers of Shōgun stayed true to their source material rather than write a horrible fanfic out of it and turn it to a tv series with unnecessary queer baiting, making the villains sympathetic characters and giving them more spotlight than the good guys.
With these good reviews and praises popping out left and right, maybe I should give it a try and watch Shōgun to cleanse my brain of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon’s lazy writing. 🤔

As far as I can see, a significant part of Nocturne audience haven’t heard about the official radio drama “Nocturne of Recollection”, which confirms Alucard’s feelings for adult (18 y.o.) Maria in some way. (All the complaints should be addressed to Konami :D)
To the main part. One of the flashbacks tells us that — several centuries before SotN — Alucard’s servant, Lyudmil, told his master about the festival where Lisa’s favorite flowers were used:
“Once a year, young men express their love to girls with garlands made of these flowers”.
At the end of the radio show, Alucard and Maria are alone in a blooming field. When Alucard draws the lady’s attention to beautiful flowers growing nearby, she is willing to gather some. Then the Tragic Prince remembers deceased Lyudmil, whispering under his breath:
“Whitе garlands?.. I should have said ‘Yes’ when you offered me a lesson how to make them”.
The authors imply that the dhampir and the huntress stay together after this episode.
P.S. I hope you understand Alumaria/Mariacard admirers a little better now.
So, did Konami plan for Maria and Alucard to be a couple? Definitely yes. Did they manage to reveal their relationship well? This is up to you.
And I remind you that Alumaria fan base has formed around adult Maria. All the adequate viewers support the idea that Adrian and young (16 y.o.) Maria should have a purely platonic love, but most gamers consider their romance after the time skip as a partial analogue of Lisa and Dracula. (This is fantasy, my friends — the laws of our world don’t work for a 300+ y.o. dude. In addition, the game universe compensated Adrian’s questionable age with vampire hibernation: roughly speaking, his intellectual growth had been frozen for centuries, so mentally he was not much older than his passion).
My personal opinion: we have a basis for a story about true noble love, but it’s all in writers’ hands.
If you want to argue — argue with Charlotte Aulin.

P.P.S. Pardon my English.

I’ve been shipping Alucard and Maria ever since I saw Symphony of the Night and listened to the audio drama.
With season 2 coming up, I can’t wait to see these two interact, like, talk about their family traumas and form a friendship. Perhaps Maria’s feelings for Alucard will begin to take root, and in season 3, their relationship will further develop.

Hell yeah!! Alucard and Maria, ladies and gentlemen!

Those who say Rhaenyra is “fat” are the ones who hate her guts and resorted to body shaming because they lack valid arguments against her.
There is constant Green propaganda and horrible artwork in this fandom, portraying Rhaenyra as overweight, and many times even obese.
And yet, in the official portraits commissioned by GRRM himself, we see that although she is no longer as slim as she once was when she was young, her weight is pretty normal (considering that she had six pregnancies).
I mean, look at her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How is this woman fat?
Aegon and Helaena however are both shown to be overweight, just like their father:

If you hate Rhaenyra, that’s fine. But use actual arguments.
People should stop resorting to body shame in order to prove a point (especially when the comments made about that person’s weight are based on lies).
I personally have never seen TB fans make fun of Aegon the Usurper or Helaena for the fact that they are both obviously overweight. TG stans, however, constantly bring up Rhaenyra’s supposed weight (as if it’s supposed to mean something).
Make it make sense.

Oh, look at that, Ryan and Sara. The showrunners/actors showing respect to the source material results in a well-received adaptation.
WHO WOULD’VE FCKING THOUGHT?
Kudos to Ella Purnell.

What does that mean?
Is Lenore going to die? But they’re already dead. Maybe, just maybe, she’s not actually dead unlike everyone else?
Or is Lenore gonna get her Spectre form by sunrise?

Nevermore raised more questions than answers. I guess I’m gonna wait for the next chapters to come out.

Prompt: Set in Victorian era where Daemon and Rhaenyra are cousins and at the same age, or maybe Rhaenyra is one year older. It depends.
Daemon is Saera’s son and was adopted by Viserys after her death. He is timid and shy - opposite of Rhaenyra, but he aspires to be a well-known painter. His cousin would always agree to pose for him.
And then one day, Daemon has a fantasy about Rhaenyra while he was painting her portrait.

Currently watching this masterpiece of an anime.
I’m at episode 25-26.
Even the dungeon (or the demon responsible for creating the clones) agrees that Frieren is the most powerful among the others, using her clone to guard the final door. 🤭
Not gonna lie, Frieren’s clone gives me a Souls game boss vibe. I mean... THE MUSIC, THE STAGE, AND THE ENTRANCE!!!
Frieren participating in the exam really screwed everyone else over, huh.

Soooo, not sure if this is appropriate to say but my best friend told me someone they know through another friend hates Navier and firmly believes that Trashta, Soviesh*t, Christa are all innocent victims while the true monsters are Navier, Heinrey, and their friends and family. What the actual fuq? Also, am I an asshole for hating those three (Trashta, Soviesh*t, and Christa)?
So Trashta, Sovieshit, and Christa are all saints while Navier, Heinrey, and the rest are the monsters?
Trashta was sold into slavery by her father. She appears to be naïve, but her innocent act is just that, an act. She is a manipulative and deceitful woman who enjoys luxuries and takes pleasure in praises. She does not hesitate to blame other people for her mistakes. Furthermore, she is a hypocrite as she shamed Nian Tuania for things she has also done without shame. And despite being born a commoner and having been a former slave, Trashta declared that she hated both groups of people too.
Sovieshit neglects and emotionally abuses Navier during the series prior to the divorce, humiliating her and falsely blaming things on her, even if he should know better. He also acts hypocritical and possessive over Navier despite what he did to her.
As for Krista, has long loved Heinrey for at least 10 years, though it was one-sided because he firmly views her as just his sister-in-law. She is upset after learning of his infatuation and subsequent relationship with Navier, so she plotted with Duke Kaufman to make Heinrey fall in love with her, which failed. But the rumor spread, and Krista decided to take advantage of it and blackmail Heinrey into making her his concubine.
Sure, Trashta, Sovieshit, and Krista had backstories of their own, but their actions are of their own. Not Navier’s or Heinrey’s. They decided to do what they did, and so they must take responsibility for it.
So, am I an asshole too for hating those three?
