Do you have a favorite card game? My family plays double deck euchre with a pinochle deck. I have yet to meet anyone outside the family who knows about it or plays it.

We LOVE games in general. As far as card games, my grandmother (who has passed away now) use to play a game with me that we called waamp waamp. In reality it was called Cassino (I have to do a LOT of research to find the name of it…). We use to play game after game of it. I haven’t played it since she passed.
Now our family LOVES board games. We play a ton to the point we are part of an online gaming site. My mom, dad, and I play board games online with each other all the time.

Okay…. I don’t usually do these types of things, but for once I am… I seriously need some help with everything going on.
As some of you know, my son was born March 28th and was not breathing. He was immediately rushed to NICU where he was put on a cpap and given medications to keep a ductal development open to save his life. We knew that he had a heart condition before he was born which allowed doctors to act quickly.
Tumblr media
To explain what is wrong with his heart…. He has dextrocardia, congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries, pulmonary atresia, and VSD. To break all that down. His heart is on the right side of his chest, his heart is mirrored, he is missing the part of his pulmonary artery that connects to his heart (there was a ductal development that kept blood flow from the pulmonary to the aorta which was connected to the heart right at the VSD) and a hole between the bottom two chambers of his heart (VSD). Ductal developments are normal in babies. It is a small vessel that connects the pulmonary artery to the aorta while in the womb which provides blood flow to the lungs. Within 48 hours of birth, this ductal development will shrink till it no longer exists.
At 3 days old, we transferred from the birth hospital to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where he went to cardiac ICU. Doctors were pretty sure they could place a stint in the ductal development to keep it open and get him home pretty quickly. At less than a week old, he went in for the stint where they discovered that the tissue of the ductal development was also in his pulmonary artery. This meant that he had to have open heart surgery to repair the pulmonary artery and place a shunt to allow blood flow into his lungs. His surgery was April 5th when he was only 8 days old and went well.
Tumblr media
The recovery from surgery was going to tell us everything we needed to know about his future surgery and what to expect. Thankfully this wasn’t as bad as it could be. He did recover a lot slower than we expected. Because of that, we have not moved to acute care yet and are still in the cardiac ICU. I have spent most days here with Erik while my husband is at home with our toddler. The reason for this is we can’t afford for me to drive back and forth. It’s 100 miles round trip which is rough, especially with gas prices being $3.49 or higher. On top of that, I am having to get food 3x a day, plus pay for parking and breastmilk bags because I am not allowed to breast feed him yet. I am having to pick up new clothes for him because he is so small he is wearing preemie clothing. I am staying at the Ronald McDonald House and they ask for $20 a day if we can and covering one meal a day. My toddler had to start daycare so my husband can work. We really are in need of some help. Every little bit helps and if you can’t, can you please at least share this to help get the word out. Maybe someone can help us in some way.
Other ways to help are:
Cashapp: $Cosmichairdesigns
Venmo: @cosmichairdesigns
To everyone who can share or help, thank you so much. You are appreciated more than I can express in words.

What is a movie you like that you feel is not super well known? What do you like about it?
There's an older like 1960s movie called the Russians are coming. It's a comedy but also emotional. I liked the comedy and the happy ending (and Alexei and Alison).

“Strange Magic”… I absolutely love this movie. It’s by Lucas films and just out there… In a way has a Labyrinth feel to it, but no humans. Just mainly about how ‘love is strange’ (there is a song in there called this) and how you can’t always predict who you will fall in love with. My sister showed it to me and I fell in love with it. It is on Disney+.

Did you have a favorite song/s as an under 5 yr old? Do you still like it/them?
My mom says that both Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Cyrus and Baby Likes to Rock It by The Tractors were guaranteed to make me dance. Not bad but also neither are a favorite now. (But also my sister basically yelling Bertha in my face was the only way to change my diaper without me crying so idk what my baby brain was doing lol)

Lololol. Oh gosh. This is going to be a great story.
Up until I was about 4-6 years old, my sperm donor would play Queen and my mom would play 80s rock. Around 4-6 years old, my Grandfather decided one day while I was over to play a Sarah Brightman cd he loved. The first song that played was “Phantom of the Opera”. I was so intrigued that I wanted to hear it again while prompted my Grandfather to play the original soundtrack. I listened to it so many times over there that he told my mom to let me borrow her cd copy. I started to play it every day to thwart point I started falling asleep to it. I knew every word of the whole cd within a year. Around the age of 10, my Grandfather took me to see the play which had more content than the soundtrack. I was wide eyed the whole time and never realized that they drop the chandelier till it came down (mind you, we were sitting under it and it scared the crap out of me). That was the performance where the phantom tripped during masquerade and made me realize I wanted to go into drama. I saw the play again around 13/14 years old, started drama at 16 (mainly backstage with costumes and hair/makeup), and daily would listen to my mom’s cd. It never left my room. When I was about to move out, I went to return the cds to my mom who said that they were mine now. Since 18, I have seen the play 2 more times and the sequel once. I still have that cd and still know every lyric to every song. I own all the books and little things related to the play/books. I am hoping my kids follow my footsteps in loving the play as well.
Favorite songs: Music of the Night and The Point of no Return

I am so thankful that my parents are professional photographers. My mom took these of me holding my second born after his first open heart surgery. It has been a roller coaster of events and emotions for my whole family, especially me. I am going to make some videos and share our journey when I feel as if I can do so without completely breaking down.

I have surgery this afternoon and in an effort to distract myself I am going to send a decent chunk of asks. Partly because I do not know when sitting at the computer will be comfortable for me and sending asks are much easier for me on a computer. Feel free to answer at your own pace whether that is all at once or none or once every so often. No time limit.
Do you wear jewelry? If so, what is your most sentimental piece and is it your favorite? Do you have any jewelry that is from a fandom?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.
Okay. First off, I really hope your surgery went well.
Jewelry is hit and miss with me. I do have a few charm bracelets that are from fandoms (Lord of the Rings, Phantom of the Opera, and Yuri on Ice). I have some costume jewelry from Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit for costuming. I LOVE circlets! I have at least 3… maybe 4… if not more.
My most sentimental piece though is the diamond earrings my Grandmother gave me on my 18th birthday. She believed every woman should own a pair of diamond earrings. I wear them on special occasions only.

@thebibliosphere It’s really sad for those who suffer from migraines for years and no one believes us, but then someone (a so-called friend of mine) can claim she has a migraine while she plays on the computer and watches tv before swearing it’s so bad she needs to go to the ER for pain meds, and the ER believes her. Yet when mine get that bad, they say I am dr*g seeking and turn me away. Mine get so bad, I give myself sh0ts to prevent them and to get rid of them. It’s beyond frustrating.
What chronic neurological issue do you have that causes such long migraines?
It's the migraines. Migraines are a neurological disorder. Mine are just super bad. Better than they used to be (used to get 20+ a month) but still bad.

Did you ever read or have your name read aloud in class as part of a story/poem/math problem? If so how did you feel about it?
I can vividly remember reading ahead and spotting my name and feeling my stomach drop like it does on a roller coaster but bad. I hated it so much, everyone looking at you and grinning when the name was read and like no I have no affiliation with this person or their actions do not look upon me and judge.
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.*
My name is so unique that I can say that has never happened. Now my kids may have that problem. Steve and Erik. I know Erik shares the name of Erik from Phantom of the Opera.

Back in February I learned that not everyone can taste/smell the liquids when they get an IV. The nurse said it's less common to be able to.
Can you smell/taste it?

I thought everyone could smell and taste IV fluids……….. You taught me something new…..
