36 for the danganronpa asks!
Which character do I wish got more screen time? There are a few characters I'd pick for this, but the main one would be the ultimate imposter. The very concept of this character is fascinating to me. In a franchise that's all about the concept of identity, having a character that literally has no identity at all. No name, no background, no home, nothing. I especially love that despite the fact they are so devoted to their craft, we can still see the real them through the facade. When you play dr2, you think to yourself "man byakuya has got a lot cooler since the first game" because despite the fact they're impersonating byakuya, they're still a much more likeable person, and they can't help but show it. They have shown time and time again that they do have an identity of their own. They are a strong, selfless, straightforward leader. But they don't even seem to realize it. They don't even notice the cracks in their facade because they're convinced that they are truly nothing beneath their impersonations. It's just such a great concept, and I really wish we could have explored it more! I also think ryoma should have lived longer. He had the perfect setup for some great character development. They really wasted a lot of great potential with his character, but im not gonna get super deep into that cus this post would go on forever.

15. Which character do you think could benefit from a total rewrite? :3
There are a few characters that I think really need a rewrite, but the one that I feel the strongest about is probably kazuichi. I thought he was gonna be one of my favorites at the start. He's got all the qualities to be a loveable character. But they leaned so heavily on his obsession with sonia that everything else about him was just pushed aside! His ENTIRE character became him being creepy to sonia. I think this could potentially be an interesting concept to play with though. A big theme of danganronpa is identity. Every character is desperately clinging to some oversimplified versions of themselves so that they can stand out. Danganronpa is all about breaking down those identities, one way or another, the characters all have to face the fact that they are more than the persona they set up for themselves. Kazuichi frequently complained about "not standing out." he needed an identity to cling onto, but he believed that nothing about him was good enough to make his whole personality. So instead, he clinged to another person who stood out, a princess. He chose to forfeit his own identity in favor of becoming a more interesting person's servant. This would make sense too since he got more obsessed with her as the game continued, he was using her as a coping mechanism, and as things got harder for him to handle, he got more and more obsessed with her. This would be a pretty hard thing to thoroughly explore in the game tho so I'd say the best way to handle his character is to tone way down his crush on sonia and you would be left with a pretty likeable character
