GENUINE QUESTION, has anyone had the thought before or made a Tav based on the question "What if Astarion had a sibling?"

Trying to only reblog art of Olrox that actually gets his non-European features right
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, no one is saying you need to take a class in MesoAmerican anthropology, but look, his face is broad, it is angular, it is masculine. If you can't do that, you're not drawing Olrox; you're creating a completely different character design.

Okay, but Essek never knew Mollymauk.
He had never known that bright smile, the blatant teasing and joie de vivre that Mollymauk performed with such exuberance that it could be forgiven for missing that deep seated fear and bitterness that still bubbled just beneath the surface. He had never heard Mollymauk's stories or the ways they shifted and changed as he created new details and forgot the old ones.
"You like him."
"I would think that is none of your business."
Essek knew the Nein and their love of the lavender tiefling with haunted red eyes. He knew that they had faced their own nightmares of that terrible city and cruel, manic creature that was Lucien because of their love for Mollymauk. He had been frustrated and heartbroken for them when Caleb's first action on a fucking resurrection was to attempt the same on the diminished, dead thing that had killed him.
He did not understand the appeal of the tiefling. The easy disregard for feelings and decorum, the easier smiles and little digs where Essek suspected there was more Lucien in there than whoever the lost member of the Nein had been.
Kingsley had a habit of showing up where he was not wanted, and Essek suspected (based on the fond smile from Caleb when the tiefling seemed to appear without warning) that it was an old habit of Mollymauk's shining through. Like the glint of gold on his clothes. The tiefling had been the one to ferry Caleb to Eiselcross this time; the creaking wood of the ship left in the cold as payment for the crew was arranged and they were shooed off back to warmer waters.
Essek had hoped, as Kingsley made himself comfortable in his chair, that Caleb would have come alone.
Instead he now had a lavender tiefling looking almost underdressed for the weather and ruins lounged across his own chair, behind his desk, with a grin that reminded Essek of a far too smug cat. Perhaps that was why Caleb liked him.
"So you're okay if I use this trip to--"
"Do whatever pleases you." Essek knew he had spoken too quickly when he saw that smile curl its way across Kingsley's lips.
"I think I will."
"You two are like cats," Caleb muttered as he returned to the office, list in hand of supplies deemed necessary for the excursion to Aeor. "I should keep you in separate rooms until you've both calmed down."

Beingin this back because I think some of the newer stuff with Ashton would make this sort of interaction a whole lot funnier
I feel like if Ashton met Lucien he would've been like "Man . .. . smoke some weed or something you need to calm down"

Yes yes Drolta sexy dommy mommy but like can we talk about the implications of her backstory and dynamic with Erzsebet??? She's a black woman but she's happily deferring to this white woman. She was an Egyptian priestess and we have her white lady appropriating a major deity from her religion, and instead of having the most reason and background to know what a bastardization this is, Drolta just continues to unironically love Erzsebet... What's up with that??? Did Drolta's background as a priest translate to Erzsebet accessing Sekhmet's blood? Or did she choose to worship Erzsebet because she had Sekhmet's blood?
And like yeah we can play with the idea of Olrox and Drolta as besties but can we also talk about their duality and how they're both dark-skinned PoC vampires and yet one of them is distinctly aware of this fact while the other doesn't really seem to care? You'd think Drolta would be more equipped than anyone else to know what's going on in Olrox's mind and anticipate his resentment-turned-rebellion, but she doesn't seem all that prepared? Or at least just kinda impatiently brushes it off like eventually he's gonna learn his place like she did. Drolta is obviously socially keen enough to figure out Emmanuel's fatherly connection to Maria from just a glance.
Hell what does Annette think, as someone who was a black slave to Vaublanc? Vaublanc was kneeling to Drolta as she inducted him into the cult of Erzsebet. She has to realize what a lot of these white nobles around her are like, how they feel about PoC. Does Drolta just happily see herself as the exception, does she think she's 'above' race because she's ascended to vampirism and is beside a goddess? And/or is Erzsebet's status as a white woman revoked because she ascended to vampire and then ascended a second time to goddess?
What questions would Annette ask, as a black woman who is also very spiritual, who has a mentor in Cecile? Annette also has a connection to the gods of her own heritage, whom she respects. She's going to them to undo the establishment. Meanwhile Drolta is letting her own god be bastardized. Does she think that survival can only come around if people make their cultures and magic adapt to the new status quo and find their place in it, regardless of what might be lost in the transition? There's a lot to say about Drolta and Annette fighting each other beneath the abbey.
Did Erzsebet turn Drolta, like she did Tera? Is the control a vampire has over its thrall inform a good portion of their dynamic? Please tell me we're gonna get backstory for these two regarding the blood of Sekhmet that explains what's going on in Drolta's head. Does she consider these implications, what does she think about them, how would she have reacted if someone like Olrox or Annette brought them up? Maybe Drolta accepts her place by Bathory's side because there's always a hierarchy in her mind, and all she can do is focus on saving herself a place above all of the rich white people, even if that means leaving behind her fellow PoC, because she's that kind of person who seeks empowerment for herself alone but not for the rest of her demographic, maybe seeing it as 'unrealistic' and her own position as a miracle that barely worked out.
Ngl I hope that one day Bloodlines gets adapted, and Drolta is brought back alongside Erzsebet as the main antagonists. I think there's a lot of room to explore Drolta's devotion to Erzsebet lasting until even now, and maybe develop their relationship. In game canon, Drolta is the one driving a lot of the events, being the one to resurrect Erzsebet, siccing the Mecha Knight on our protagonists, etc. And Dracula's second phase may or may not be intended to represent Drolta herself, which would otherwise explain her absence as a boss fight despite her role in the lore; And that places Drolta after Erzsebet in terms of gameplay.
I'm just saying!!! I'd love to see Drolta have a Fawful epiphany where she realizes that Erzsebet really is dependent on her contributions, and Drolta is the one who actually makes things work, she's the true driving force and mastermind; Erzsebet would be nothing without her, but can the same be said for the other way around? Maybe Drolta just assumed she needed Erzsebet but then she realizes she does all this and Erzsebet still has to depend on her. Maybe she IS aware of how much she outclasses Erzsebet, but Drolta finds it more convenient and safe to let Erzsebet take the spotlight as a figurehead, while she operates safely in the shadows.

[Generic Introduction Post]
The name's Finn, I'm 18, queer, trans, and so fucking tired. I tend to change hyperfixations frequently, but current hot ones are Critical Role, Baldur's Gate 3, and Castlevania. Don't be a freak

Reblogging bc my friend corrected me that no, Veth and Astarion would absolutely fucking kill each other
Man. I just can't help but imagine Critical Role x Baldur's Gate 3 drabbles or a fic or something of that some sort. Idk, I just think it'd be really funny and also a chance for some really cute scenes. Especially with the Mighty Nein.
Now obviously there'd probably be SO much mistrust between the two groups, but just imagine if you will(possibly very minor spoilers under the cut):
Caleb and Gale(and maybe Essek) talking about wizard stuff and cats.
Jester introducing everyone to Artagan. I think Astarion would either like him or fucking hate him.
Karlach, Yasha, and Beau just working out together. Buff lesbians
Fjord and Wyll bonding over shitty patrons. If it's post Ukatoa then Fjord giving Wyll some hope about his situation. I just think it'd be sweet.
Caduceus and Halsin. That's it. I think they'd talk for literally HOURS, just drinking tea and talking about random shit and their respective circles 'n such. ALSO, I'm just imagining them sort of gossiping about and spilling their respective party's secrets to eachother. They'd be silly lol
Jester overhearing the whole convo with Astarion and Tav(if there's a tav in this??) about him not being able to see his reflection and immediately getting to work drawing a portrait of him. As soon as she shows and gives it to him, he's his usual sorta sassy self about it but he absolutely cherishes it.
Also I feel like Astarion would see different bits of his own past in some of the Mighty Nein, specifically Caleb and Yasha, and it'd piss him the FUCK off.
Jester and/or Molly reading the groups fortunes just for fun, the Oracle of the Moon Deck has some cards that would make the groups fortunes REALLY INTERESTING. Maybe Molly also pulls out some of the old circus tricks for fun.
On the topic of Molly, I think Lae'zel would have this very confusing respect for Molly? She'd find them really foolish at first and not think much of them, but I think she'd then see them actually in combat and be impressed with their skills.
I feel like Nott/Veth would just start mothering some of the bg3 party. Like not heavily, but a bit similar to how she does with Caleb. I could def see her pairing up with Astarion to steal some shit. Maybe King joins in if he's there.
Jester giving some of the group tattoos. Not everyone would get them obviously but I could definitely see Karlach and I suppose Tav going for it.
Nein Sided Tower shenanigans. That's all.

Ok so I watched Castlevania: Nocturne and I don’t think there was a single character I disliked (no, not even the Abbott, I liked his nuance.) I honestly think the only character I didn’t like was Erszebet…but I see people dragging Julia Belmont when we know literally nothing about her. Like she’s there for five minutes and then dies, but so many people are assuming that she killed Olrox’s boyfriend just because he was a vampire or because of some other arbitrary crap.
Of course I’m not saying that Olrox’s boyfriend did anything wrong either, he could’ve been totally innocent for all we know and maybe she was a piece of s**t! I mean Olrox speaks glowingly of him but besides the snippets we get from bin m, we don’t know a lot about the boyfriend cuz he kinda died off screen! We don’t know enough about either of these people to make judgement about any one of them.
#i think this was done very purposefully too#I think they're playing it as a vicious cycle situation#so for that purpose they are INTENTIONALLY not showing whether or not Olrox's lover or Julia were the ones in the 'right' or 'wrong'#(which both could be viewed subjectively anyways)#it's MAIN focus is on the sense of justice all of these characters have which has led them into a seeming cycle of avenging each other#from what Olrox says his boyfriend had a very kind or whatever sense of justice but Julia still killed him bc her sense of justice said so#then Olrox killed her bc she killed his lover and who he viewed as a VERY good man#and now Olrox and Richter are at an impass where R wants vengeance the same way/reason Olrox did and Olrox is viewing it as an eye 4 an eye#Julia took his lover from him so he will take Richter from Julia(even if she is dead)#b yeah i think its gonna be interesting to see if they actually expand upon Julia and the lovers morals and reasons n such or leave it as i#bc of the reasons i said b4#i do think itd be cool to see expansion upon Olrix and Richter's justice stuff tho obviously like whether theyll break the cycle or such#and i mean like with where its going im assuming thats in fact what theyre going to do#also of note is that Richter has people that would def avenge him but Olrox doesn't unless you count Mizrak which is... complicated#so with Olrox's death it could be viewed as potentially ending the cycle in a way meanwhile Richter's death would just continue the cycle#(obviously Richter wont die tho bc hes our main boy but yknow whatever)#ANYWAYS THIS GOT REALLY LONG but I just liked the pointin out of us not knowin who was morally 'correct' and wanted to add on bc i mean yea#srry that this is all in tags i dont like ranting in reblogs it scares me 😭#long tags#castlevania#castlevania nocturne#julia belmont#olrox#castlevania olrox#richter belmont#dsfb reblog

Silly DnD Character Idea: A very VERY old elf(or other long lived race) who adventured and committed themself to heroics in their youth, who recently transitioned and is now traveling the world again, rediscovering their love for adventuring along the way.
Unfortunately, almost no one believes them that they're the famed folk hero they say they were.
