thinking more about it and it'd actually be Beelzebub that was the first archdemon, if it's adjusted that there are 8 old gods instead of 7
old god archons would be addressed by their goetic titles, even tho most of them arent known yet so i suppose that would mean that teyvat hasnt suffered too many Blights yet. at least one would have to have been went through tho, for the formation of the fatui/grey wardens, so i suppose it could be safe to say that Baal was the archdemon for the First Blight

not me, forgetting to tag again smh
- khaenri'ah 馃 arlathan
having ancient magic/technology that wreaks havoc upon people that misuse or literally just exist in the same space as them
- obviously the ruin machines dont really have a parallel in dragon age so theyd just be vibin there unchanged except maybe they run on magic now, and there'd be less of a chance to encounter them outside of actual ruins
- the abyss is actually teeming with ruin machines along with whatever other horrors are down there
theres more to this idea but im tired

OH I AM A FOOL, AN UTTER BUFFOON HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THIS BEFORE?
while itd be narratively accurate in some ways for khaenri'ah to take the place of orzammar and the dwarves underground, it would also fit into the fall of arlathan
fuck the more i think about it the more it makes sense but im too tired for words rn i just woke up and had this thought

zhongli is prolly in a similar situation to the tsaritsa, his real body slumbering underground somewhere with a piece of his consciousness in a human host unable to remember what he is
tho he has a different disposition than the tsaritsa, he spends his time as a wanderer. basically elves would mistake him for fen'harel if he wasnt a human. or perhaps the person his consciousness latched to is an elf oh thats a cool idea

going on with innistrad ideas, playing around with the geographical layout of teyvat would be fun to try and get to work with the descriptions of places within flavor text on mtg cards and official written stories set within innistrad
id have to squash 7 nations into the 4 "counties" (not countries) innistrad has, taking into account how i decide to group them

obviously things arent gonna be as rigid as they are in the dragon age games in terms of classes and stuff
also weapons do the thing they do in genshin where they dissolve and reappear when theyre needed because that shit's cool
mages arent as discriminated against in this au, but theres understandably still caution around them because of the risks involved in being magic
so here's what kind of classes i think some characters would have:
diluc- definitely a warrior type but not afraid to use daggers or even the occasional bow. has to be careful with bows because hes stronk and could end up snapping the string. he feels too light on his feet with daggers since hes more used to his claymore. knights of favonius/templar training but never became a full fledged member
kaeya- a 'mage' primarily using ice 'magic' to make a sword for himself. grew up as a noble and has the swordwork to prove it. he dodges questions with the same prowess he dodges blows
jean- another warrior type but prefers lighter swords compared to diluc. she dabbles in archery as well. acting knight-commander of the knights/templars
barbara- mage, specializes with water spells and healing magic. shes unable to join the chantry because of her magic but shes a devout follower of celestia and spends her time in the Circle inside the Circle's chantry
childe- 100% a rogue type that discovered new abilities to manipulate water after his time in the abyss, but not quite in the same way that mages are able to use magic. he doesnt understand it in any way but he'll use it to his advantage. switches between daggers and a polearm with the ease of pulling his gloves on
zhongli- pure warrior despite his seemingly gentle disposition. the earth beneath him seems to thrum in the throes of battle but hes demonstrated no magical abilities thus far. specializes with a polearm but is unafraid to try his hand at other physical weapons as well.
feel free to ask me about specific characters so i can think more about it :D

expanding on the fatui as grey wardens, let's talk about childe
young childe ends up in the abyss after he took off on an adventure, and because the abyss is a maze like structure with several cave-ins, hostile creatures, and more, childe is unable to find his way back to the surface.
scared and alone, childe does what he needs to in order to survive. he runs out of food first and clean water soon after. the strange creatures dont taste TOO horrible, he supposes, but he'd really rather have some of his mom's cooking again. he's down there for what feels like an eternity, miraculously surviving the creatures attacking him and the perilous quakes that cause sinkholes in the floor or debris to fall from the ceiling, but he can feel himself weakening.
he is going to die here.
he is afraid, but so numb at the same time.
enter skirk.
a mysterious woman that appears out of nowhere and ends up giving him a crash course on how to wield a blade and how to survive on his own. she drills the fear out of him, replacing the cowering little boy with a confident young man.
one day (he thinks days have passed at least), she tells him that he doesnt have long to live, as the abyssal corruption eats away inside of him, the consequences of surviving off of the abyss creatures. the only way, she tells him, is to find the fatui and hope that he survives their ritual to make him one of them.
unwilling to lie down and accept a painful death, childe departs from skirk and luckily finds a fatui led expedition. they bring him back to the surface after seeing his condition then administer the ritual, which childe survives.
such a harrowing journey leaves childe a changed man with a few screws loose but he makes sure to inform his family of his new, honorable job

thinking about how the fatui could be the equivalent of grey wardens in this au...
but, DAG, how would that work if tsaritsa is an old god and buried beneath the earth in an eternal slumber as a dragon, you ask
well, dear reader, perhaps she pulls a similar stunt that azdaha did. part of her spirit escaped confinement and overtook a human host. however, this comes at a cost.
human tsaritsa doesnt remember who or what her true body and mind are but is filled with ancient knowledge. she scales the ranks of the fatui/grey wardens, proving herself a formidable warrior and master tactician, before she's appointed First Warden and is free to control the fatui/grey wardens all she wants. who's to say whether the sliver of old god tsaritsa in her human host will remember what she is or not, and who knows what could possibly happen when the wardens' worst enemy is in control of their ranks?

oops i was so excited that i forgot to tag it lol
okay so
ive been thinking about this basically all day lmao so like
7 archons? 7 old gods
the abyss? the deep roads, khaenri'ah being the civilisation that had built them (not fallen/destroyed in this, just living underground like the equivalent of orzammar in dragon age)
celestia is the fade/the maker's seat

because we dont know much about the locations of 4/7 nations in genshin, i took some liberties with where they would be and decided to modify the dragon age map to fit the two possibilities ive been thinking of in terms of where they'd be situated
Tumblr media
first and foremost, this map is me trying to match parallels between teyvat and thedas.
mondstadt and ferelden are have similar bases on germanic/english history and folklore
fontaine and orlais are both based on france
snezhnaya and the anderfels are cold
i dont actually know why i put inazuma as the tevinter imperium, perhaps just to keep them on the same continent? it doesnt really fit for me.
sumeru and nevarra, nevarra is home to prestigious schools which reminded me of sumeru and i felt like the style would fit between them
natlan and the free marches, i dont know much about natlan and im not sure many of us do yet but from what ive heard i think the free marches suits natlan the best
liyue and antiva are another parallel that im not entirely sold on. i believe antiva is renowned for being a trading hub but usually in a very different way from liyue. antiva feels a little more lawless compared to liyue's strict contracts
in this version, we would be ignoring rivain, seheron, and par vollen
Tumblr media
this version here is me trying to guesstimate where these countries would be positioned based on how close they are to each other in the original teyvat map. liberties are taken due to little knowledge on four out of seven nations.
sumeru could be either the tevinter imperium or antiva honestly, since this map is ignoring the idea of any parallels between dragon age countries and teyvat nations
