Honestly, I don't plan on watching it at all.
Being tactful as to why. Long old man ramble follows.
Point one: I loathe musicals as a genre. There are very, very few exceptions to that rule for me, and they're generally ones in which either the musical numbers can be jettisoned with no impact on the plot, and are just there because that's what movies were back then (old-timey stuff), or ones that deliberately play around with the tropes of what a traditional musical is (like, say, Cannibal! The Musical).
I find it hilarious that if there was one episode that pretty much EVERYONE in the fandom points to as being its low point, it's the Christmas special, with the leads bravely warbling their way through some ill-advised songs. I'm gobsmacked that they went back to that well.
Point two: It's not canon, it can't be canon, it can basically never even approach canon.
I'm not going to begrudge Zag the opportunity to put nicely-animated meet-cutes on a bigger screen. I mean, I write fanfic. That's my own take on starting with a canon framework and diverging wildly, isn't it? So Zag can do the same, if he chooses to.
If I, just putting it out there, was in charge of a multi-multi-million-dollar enterprise with a popular television series that just finished its first multi-season major story arc, and I was quite proud of that story and how it was told and how the fans responded to it, I don't know that making its big-screen debut a complete reboot/rewrite of the series, changing several core dynamics AND delivering resolutions that the canon series is not likely to ever reach would be my method of choice.
But that's me.
Point three: It puts the canon series in a very awkward position.
Given the above, I ask you this. If I am new to the series -- not an existing fan, but intrigued by this big-budget film that popped up on Netflix -- and I like what I see in the movie, what will I see when I tune into the series?
Whether I pick it up with Season 6 or start with earlier episodes on Disney, not much is going to match up. The big things that happen in the movie -- especially near its end -- won't be reflected in the series. I'm going to be more than a bit confused.
And if I am a diehard fan, aren't the big things in this movie teasing me, giving me there what I'm pretty sure I'll never get in canon?
If the Miraculous series was over and done with -- and I remain firm in my belief that for all intents and purposes, it should be now, and that S6 and beyond are Supernatural-style padding unless the writing turns out to be VERY clever -- the movie would be a nice little valentine for the fans, either as a recap/retelling or as a continuation of where the series stopped. But it isn't.
Point four: I SAID IT'S A GODDAMNED MUSICAL. EEEUURGH.
Point five: Pacing!
I know that the series has been a very long slow burn. We spent five seasons watching our heroic couple slowly overcome their fears and doubts, grow closer in various combinations, grow as individuals and finally emerge where we've wanted them to go. That's a long trip, and there are aspects of it that are still underdeveloped IMHO, and there's still more to be done to flesh it out.
Now. Can you do all of that, going from the very first meet-cute to the end of the ride, BEYOND where the series will have gone after five seasons... in an hour and a half... and do it at all credibly, especially with songs taking up running time as well? Audience members have literally grown out of the show's target age range in the time it's taken Marinette and Adrien to get to the kissing parts. How does one portray that kind of personal transformation in an extremely rapid manner, and make it work and make it resonate?
Point six: Personal reasons.
I have an inordinate fondness for this show, as should be obvious from my having pumped out seventy-one stories and a million-and-a-quarter words about it to date -- and that's not counting dozens and dozens of story prompts to encourage others to do the same.
The endless leaks that spoiled pretty much everything about Season 5 really poisoned the creative well for me as a writer. I did a few one-shots, I have a short piece in progress right now filling in a timeskip gap in the S5 finale, but I felt unable to put anything substantial together given their impact.
I don't like several things about how S5 ended, how several aspects were handled, and where it appears to be headed. There's a character who'll be prominently featured in S6 that I don't like, whom I consider to be a half-baked idea that's only gone further off the rails with every appearance, and I don't plan on writing for them if I can help it. And as noted, I just feel like...
...can I begrudge Team Miraculous for getting one grab at the brass ring that connected, one hit show, and riding that pony as long as it's possible to go? Nah. I might choose the exact same route if I was invested in its development.
But I would rather see a story told well that contains one of a story's most important elements -- its ending. And if a non-ending goes places that I might not care to follow... we'll see if anything follows on my end.
This is not "Goodbye, Miraculous." There is certainly a chance that things that emerge from here on out will inspire me in one way or another... and I wish Team Zag good luck in taking the post-S5 world somewhere that makes sense and does exactly that for me.
Just not betting on it except in spits and spurts, though. ;)

When Karma Runs Over Your Dogma on AO3 / Why am I still linking to FFN?
I couldn't resist.
I don't know how long this one will end up being -- it won't be a longfic, as there is a fairly small time window in which its events can happen -- but it begins.
What I want from Season 6
S5 spoilers, obviously.
Wake up.
The voice was tiny and somehow distant, but also insistent.
Marinette struggled against it for as long as she was able, then opened her eyes, grudgingly-- --and jumped with a frightened yelp, retreating as far back on her bed as she was able!
Relax. I mean you no harm, the voice declared. As you can see, in this body, I am not sure how I could harm you if I meant to.
Goggle-eyed, Marinette processed the situation. "You're... a hamster," she gasped. "A real hamster, not a Kwami... and you're talking to me? Somehow?"
Mind-to-mind, it projected. Something I was accustomed to doing in my former existence, on occasion.
"Who or what ARE YOU?" Marinette demanded.
My Wish gave me precisely what I desired -- a reunion with my beloved wife, Emilie, she heard. A reunion for five short minutes. She was then whisked away from me, cruelly, and I was told that I owed five years of spiritual restitution before I would see her again.
She shook her head, overwhelmed by the implications. "You're... you're Gabriel AGRESTE in there?"
One and the same.
If a hamster was capable of displaying supreme annoyance, this one was.
Gimmi read my soul to know my desires, and the price that I would willingly pay. I was ready to surrender my life for Emilie. I was not ready for THIS... but here I am.
"I'm not dreaming this. I'm not," Marinette told herself. "So... what am I supposed to do with you?"
Apparently, Gimmi read your desires as well, it deadpanned. Your foremost desire, beyond peace and justice for all, was my son... but you had him already. Your second was a hamster.
It sniffed around her bed, tentatively.
So, I am now your private advisor, disturbingly enough. I assume that you will think of an appropriate name for me, as well as a reasonable place for me to sleep...

Burning For You (S5 Adrienette One-Shot, complete)
A one-month anniversary is a big deal for a first romance. Adrien certainly thinks so; that's why he's invited Marinette over and prepared a small surprise for her, one that she wholeheartedly enjoys. Her expression of her enjoyment, however, leads to a minor complication - and to more than either of them had bargained for.
One-shot, season 5, complete.
Burning For You on FFN / Ao3
A teaser...
She turned the door handle, pulled on it gently... and caught her breath.
By Adrien's bedside, he'd set up a small square table. A cake was in its center, chocolate with a simplistic red rose drawn in icing on its top. Candles lit both sides of the table, with plates and forks on each end.
"Happy one-month anniversary, Marinette," beamed Adrien.
"Oh...!" she gasped. "You didn't have to do this!"
"Of course I did," he countered. "I hope that you like the cake. I followed the directions as best I could, but it's nowhere near the standards of what your parents make."
"Wait. YOU baked this, Adrien?" marveled Marinette, as she took her seat across from him.
"Is that so surprising?"
"Well, no... I mean, maybe? You've told me stories about what you're like in a kitchen," she giggled.
"I'm dangerous there. I'm not helpless," he laughed in return. "This is from a box, not from scratch, so there wasn't much that I could mess up. But I assure you, my own hands mixed the batter and applied the icing."
"My hero," she glowed.
"It was nothing..."
"No, it was聽something. A very sweet something," she insisted, standing up from her chair and approaching him. "No pun intended."
"Save your applause. You haven't tasted it yet," he warned her.
"Let me put it this way, then."
Adrien tingled a bit as Marinette sat across his lap, her right arm around his shoulders, his arm sliding down automatically to support her.

Who Was That Masked Girl? Miraculous Prompt of the Day
This Sense Of Familiarity Troubles Me, Nathalie.
When Gabriel orders his staff to no longer allow Marinette on the grounds of his mansion, Adrien is crestfallen. Marinette, however, doesn't take it as badly.
"I am a master of disguise," she points out. "Maybe Marinette can't walk through the front door... but will other people be stopped?"
And so it begins.
~---~
The mustachioed Marino begins dropping by as Adrien's newest Chinese instructor. (His Chinese even gets a little better.)
A new maid pops in for a few shifts on the Agreste cleaning staff. (His room even gets a little tidier, but mostly because he's cleaning up before she arrives.)
Banananette asks cheerfully if Adrien is available to come out and play, and before the Gorilla can answer, Adrien hollers "Yes, he is!" from the stairs.
Pizza delivery ("straight to the recipient's room in 30 minutes or less or it's free, that's our policy!") begins happening regularly. Gabriel expresses some concern over this, but Adrien's nutritionist confirms that his weight and bloodwork remain unchanged.
As the costumes grow more and more ridiculous, Nathalie and the Gorilla aren't fooled for an instant... but they sympathize with the lovebirds' plight, so they turn a blind eye to it, and Gabriel himself is too busy to pay close attention.
...Mostly.
~---~
"Was that... a small circus clown that just went into Adrien's room with him?" wondered Gabriel one night. "Wildly colored hair, facepaint, a bright red nose?"
"It appears that it was," deadpanned Nathalie. "Adrien, er, requested a lady clown for the evening. For some odd reason."
"Fine. I will never understand that boy," groaned Gabriel. "Just have her out by eleven."
"Not to worry. I have it on good authority that the clown's curfew is at ten o'clock."
"...I beg your pardon?"
"Nothing."

The Song Has Ended, Its Echoes Remain: Miraculous Prompt of the Day
TW: Potential S5 endgame trauma. Theorizing, not spoiling.
~---~
The gaps in her memory haunt her. She senses the void, that something very important had dwelled there, but the doors in her mind are padlocked shut. The perception of her own incompleteness is maddening; it has her second-guessing her every decision, pulling back from so many facets of her everyday life.
But as frustrated as she feels, one look at him reminds her that she's far from the unluckiest around.
~---~
"If there is hope for either of them," Su Han had told Alya, "it lies within each other. Familiar surroundings. A routine. Emotional connections must grow back, if they will grow back, at nature's speed. There are no short cuts, but their youth will help them... and I feel that all of you can help with their healing."
"We will," Alya sniffled. "I swear that we will. Is that... is her amnesia going to happen to me someday?"
"You are not a Guardian yet, young one," the aged monk soothed her. "Being the new Ladybug is responsibility enough for now."
~---~
Three weeks ago, before the final confrontation with Monarch, Marinette and Adrien had been close friends, rapidly on the path to becoming much more than that. Nervous smiles became more confident ones. Holding hands went from an explosive rush to feeling quite natural. While that one perfect first kiss had not yet arrived, it was only because they were saving it for a moment in a setting just as perfect, whatever it would be.
But that was then.
Marinette had blossomed quite a bit during her year in Ms. Bustier's class, her year of being Ladybug. The shy girl had learned much about opening up to others, trusting her instincts, finding the courage to take chances... a wallflower became a class representative, a heroine, and even someone capable of expressing her romantic intentions, at least once in a while.
There were flashes of that Marinette now and then; Alya could see them in her friend, which she found encouraging. But more often than that, she sensed Marinette's defenses up at full strength, her strong voice muted, more fragile inside than she'd ever seen Marinette before.
And as for Adrien... his transformation was far more frightening to his friends.
Who could blame him, of course? Everything that he went through on that day was... unfathomable.
Still, it was startling to watch him and realize just how much that he had lost. It was as if Adrien had been magically reset to before his first day at Francoise Dupont, having to meet and befriend everyone there all over again. He was still Adrien deep down; he wasn't a stranger to any of his classmates.
But in some ways, he kind of was now.
~---~
The class do what they can to be supportive, of course. There's no snickering about Adrien now living with the Dupain-Chengs; they all know that he's not there shacking up with Marinette, but being assisted with major mental trauma, along with the dramatic change in his family's circumstances. Not a day goes by when at least some of their friends don't stop by to spend some time with them, choosing their words carefully, trying to act as if normality was resuming.
When an Akuma appears, when news footage of superbattles pops up on TV, both family and friends do everything possible to shelter the two of them from hearing or seeing it. It's not that they're not strong enough; it's that they've given enough already. The wounds are still visible. They shouldn't have to deal with that yet.
None of them are shoving Marinette and Adrien together and declaring, "now kiss"; that's no longer on the table, at least for now. They need to remember themselves before any of that would be possible.
In her damaged state, it'd be easy for Marinette to withdraw completely, but her friends and family won't let that happen.
She won't.
Because every time that Adrien looks at her with those sad, hopeful green eyes, her will is strengthened.
She senses that even though he barely knows her any more, that he looks confused when she refers to certain things that she still remembers, he's drawn to her in a way that neither of them fully understand.
He grasps what she's going through, because he's got it worse.
She's his lifeline to whom he was before. There was a they, a sum increasingly greater than its parts, and while neither can remember it... they can both sense that it existed, that it was so close. That it, and each of them, are something well worth fighting for.
And she'll be damned if, seeing him reach out to her like this... she won't reach back.
Once an 'everyday Ladybug...'

...Or Get Off The Pot: Another Miraculous Prompt of the Day
"We need to talk."
Marinette sighed, sensing a lecture coming. "Tikki, I am well aware that I'm digging a hole for myself," she replied. "So, spare me."
"I'm not going to yell at you, if that's what you're thinking," Tikki clarified. "I just need you thinking clearly, and I need to help you get back to that."
"Fine."
"I am not going to tell you that your feelings for Chat Noir aren't real. Because I do believe that they are," said Tikki, absorbing Marinette's frustrated tone without comment. "And I'm not going to tell you who you can love and who you can't."
"That's his job," muttered Marinette, morosely. "Since he's turned me down both ways."
"There's a certain boy who's in love with you, and he's not hiding it," Tikki reminded her. "And you've been turning him down repeatedly, even when you were still head-over-heels for him. Why is that?"
"If I had an answer to that..."
"Then let me ask you something else, okay?" prodded Tikki, gently. "I know why you did it before; you were caught by surprise, your emotions and anxieties ran away with you, all of that. Why are you pushing Adrien away now, when it's a sure thing?"
"You know why!" exclaimed Marinette. "I can't... if I let myself fall for Adrien right now, I'll be distracted. I'll be overwhelmed. I'll be focusing on him instead of on Monarch. I can't let that happen!"
"And yet you were prepared to go all-in with Chat Noir," said Tikki. "You made the first move. You made the second move. I'm actually proud of you for that; you expressed how you felt about him, honestly, directly. That takes a lot of courage. But why can you do that with Chat... but not with Adrien?"
"Tikki, what is it that you want me to do?" Marinette gasped.
"I want you to find your answer to that. Not for me," noted Tikki as she fluttered away, "but for you."

A Finger upon the First Domino: Miraculous Prompt of the Day
Well, that came together quickly.
One realization that Chat Noir had feelings for a certain Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a young lady previously beneath his notice... but whom, upon reflection, had crossed his path in suspicious ways on several occasions.
One 3 AM trip to a nearby rooftop, setting up a small camera pointed at a distinguished downtown boulangerie.
One Akuma in the early evening hours, at a time when a schoolgirl would most likely be at home with her family. It wasn't even one of his more serious attempts; the Cr猫me Br没l茅e That Walked Like A Man would annoy his young adversaries, not defeat them. It was merely there to provoke a response.
And, as if on cue, one video of a slim scarlet avenger bursting out of the bedroom of his son's favorite classmate.
Right under my nose for so many months, Gabriel mused. The keystone of the forces that oppose me; without her, the others will crumble in rapid succession. But now, the advantage is mine.
And yet... I must not underestimate her, he reasoned. Her mind is as devious as my own. She has outfoxed me at every turn... and at any moment, she is two spoken words away from becoming a tornado of power.
I will have but one shot at this, perhaps, with the element of surprise on my side. Once she realizes that she is compromised, she may well pass the Ladybug earrings onto someone else, and then I am back to square one...
...and then there is the matter of my son, who seems to want to spend every waking moment by her side.
How the devil DO I want to approach this?

And You Thought Your Parents Were Strict... (Miraculous Crack, One-Shot)
The problem with starting a relationship with a (former) teen supermodel is that when his father's secretary catches the two of you kissing on his sofa -- and, rest assured, she will -- a chain of events gets set into motion. Suddenly, you are a variable in Gabriel Agreste's extended business model... one that needs to be examined, tested, probed, classified, legally sanctioned and/or commodified.
On Gabriel's instructions, Nathalie leads Marinette to a gauntlet of obstacles to be cleared before she can return to Adrien's embrace. It's just good business, after all. Surely, Marinette can agree to such trifling demands upon her time and her privacy... right?
One-shot, complete. Crack.
And You Thought Your Parents Were Strict... on FFN / AO3
A teaser...
"All right. I'll leave you here," Nathalie stated. "I will meet you again when you get to room three."
"There are multiple parts to this? Whatever... this is?"
"Oh, yes."
Nathalie took a deep breath, reentering emotionless professional mode...
"Room one, in front of you, is where you will sign the standard non-disclosure agreements," she began. "You will be expected to engage in the utmost discretion regarding your activities with Adrien. You will not disclose to your parents, your friends, or聽especially聽the press any information about Adrien's physical features, any peculiarities that you may note about his anatomy..."
"What聽peculiarities?" interrupted Marinette. "What would be there for me to聽find?"
"I would not know," shrugged Nathalie. "But neither will the remainder of the Western world. There will be no...聽gossip聽about his... strengths or weaknesses, shall we say?"
"I wouldn't know, either," Marinette mumbled, feeling her cheeks reddening.
"There will be no articles on the gossip sites or in the newspapers about what you and Adrien do in private. There will certainly be none about what you do in public, as you will not be聽doing聽that sort of thing in public. This includes places that you聽think聽are private; an alleyway, the back of a deserted library, an otherwise-unoccupied movie theater... because paparazzi are like cockroaches. They will pop up with cameras flashing in spaces where you couldn't imagine they could ever reach."
"Okay..."
"Any hickeys, bite marks or other blemishes left upon Adrien's visible body may leave you in a聽very聽actionable legal position," Nathalie intoned. "I am required to inform you of this according to section three, subclauses five through nine of the standard contract."
"Yikes," gasped Marinette. "Kagami never told me that聽she聽had to go through any of this."
"That is because Kagami signed and honored the proper non-disclosure agreements," chuckled Nathalie. "These are not negotiable."
"...Fine."
"Once those have been signed and notarized, you will move to room two, where your medical examination will take place."
"W-what?"

The Crossover Absolutely No One Demanded Miraculous Prompt of the Day
The night was young and the crowd was rowdy at the club. The band, each member wearing their colorful animal masks, was rocking out to classic cover songs; the people were drinking, the people were dancing, the atmosphere was bright. None of this was unexpected, of course; this was the happening night-spot in its section of Tokyo.
But when its owner is the undisputed leader of the Japanese underworld, that should hardly be surprising.
Upstairs, a meeting between said leader, her faithful bodyguard and a few other trusted henchmen was proceeding normally. Suddenly, the night was split by a piercing scream!
Meeting adjourned.
Stepping out to the balcony rail, they were witness to a troubling sight. The merry-makers were running for their lives, passing a pool of blood, a confederate of theirs now missing an arm... and a defiant figure with a katana in one hand, standing tall over the fallen woman, a mask over her eyes, a red-and-black jumpsuit on her body.
"TOMOE TSURUGI!" she shouted, in flawless Japanese. "You and I have unfinished business. You, and the other members of the Deadly Kwamis Assassination Squad."
The woman on the balcony nodded, slowly.
"Indeed we do, Code Name: Ladybug," she replied.
She motioned to her closest bodyguard to engage, and the bloody battle was on...

When It's Just Not Adding Up: Motherly Miraculous Prompt of the Day
Tom Dupain glanced across the floor of the bakery at the conversation taking place in the corner. He was having some small issues dealing with the rush of customers, but the look on the young man's face... well, some things were obvious priorities.
He thought about calling Marinette down to greet her handsome friend, but it didn't seem as if, for once, she was whom the lad had come to see.
"So... that's where I'm at, Mrs. Cheng," Adrien concluded. "I'm... I'm in love with your daughter. And I'm not sure how to make it stop. I'm sorry for rambling on like this..."
"My dear boy, I'm the one who asked you," Sabine soothed him. "I can't speak for Marinette, but I have to say that if she isn't, ah... extremely fond of you, she does an amazing job of hiding it."
"Oh, we're fond of each other. She's a wonderful friend to me," interjected Adrien. "And if that's how she wants me to remain, as just a friend..."
Sabine winced. "That really doesn't sound like her at all. Not that she doesn't value your friendship! She talks about you all the time. She has for some time now."
"But she doesn't see me romantically. She's told me that twice, and even if I wonder sometimes... I have to believe her."
Thinking back to Marinette's many dinner-table declarations of Adrien's many virtues, her elaborate schemes to win his heart, her memorization of Adrien's schedule for the next three years, the elaborate photo shrine by her bed... Sabine came to a decision.
"Adrien... I don't think that she's being truthful with you, and I don't understand why not," she frowned. "But I'm going to find out."
"Please, Mrs. Cheng," Adrien begged. "Don't... don't tell Marinette that I talked with you about this?"
"You'd find it embarrassing if I did?"
"It's not that. Okay, maybe a little, but it would be worth it," he blushed. "More that... I wouldn't want her thinking that I was being pushy, trying to get you or anyone else to pressure her into dating me."
Smiling at him, Sabine replied, "You are a thoughtful young man, Adrien. One of many reasons that I believe you'd be a wonderful match for her. So... you'll follow my lead in this, and trust me?"
"Absolutely!"
"What are you doing tomorrow night around eight?"

A Visit From the Men Beyond Black: Spooky Miraculous Prompt of the Day
Marinette opened her eyes... and it didn't matter. Everything was black and featureless. She had a strange sensation that she wasn't falling... but that there was nowhere for her to fall to.
Calm yourself, said a voice in her head. You are in no danger if you cooperate, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Do not try to transform; it would end very poorly for you.
TIKKI?!
Tikki is not here. She cannot manifest in this environment.
She tried to shriek, but no sound emerged. Thinking as hard as she could at the voice, she managed, What the hell is going on? Is this some trick by Monarch?
If this was Monarch's doing, your Miraculous would not be in your right hand, where the earrings are now, the voice said. I realize that you cannot move, but you should be able to feel them there. If I wanted you dead or disabled, it would be child's play.
Then... who are you, and what do you want? wondered Marinette. Since you clearly know who and what I am.
I am a warning.
If you don't let me go right now, I'll... my partner will... we're going to--
BE QUIET.
The voice rang out with authority and considerable volume, stunning Marinette. She yelped in pain... and found that speaking, thinking, anything beyond simple acquiescence to the order was impossible.
Ah. I'm sorry, said the voice in its normal timbre. I had this thing turned up too high. Didn't mean to do that to you.
Who ARE you? she wondered. What are you?
There was a pause.
You may call me Adam, he said. It's not my actual name, but it's an alias I've used at times, so it bears some familiarity to me. "Hey, you" gets old quickly, doesn't it?
Yes, it would, Marinette agreed.
As for what... I'm a person, just like you. Trust me on that.
Where am I?
Okay. You have your home dimension, where you live. There are other dimensions out there, and there are spaces in between them. This is one of them. I have the ability to shift in and out of this space... I call it the Absence. You can't get here -- or leave -- without my help, so please cooperate.
I'm not sure that I have a choice in that, mumbled Marinette. What do you want with me?
The group that I work for... you have never heard of us. You never will have heard of us. Bad things tend to happen to those who have heard of us, Adam clarified.
Okay...
Our mission is to keep balance in the mystical world, through magic and technology combined. The Miraculous are but one set of magical totems that we watch over.
You're Guardians?
Not the order that you know of. We know of them. We allow them to persist because, generally, they are a force for good, the voice noted. As are you and your partner. You've actually impressed us with how well you've done, and the restraint that you've shown with your capabilities... but things have reached a tipping point.
What point is that?
Foreign governments are monitoring Monarch's actions closely. Too much power in one set of hands. They get nervous around forces that can bend reality over their knees. Two that we know of are considering tactical nuclear strikes, before he can reach out in their direction and threaten them as well.
WHAT? Marinette panicked.
You heard me.
If you have this kind of power... you took me out without any effort, Marinette reasoned. Why don't you take Monarch down yourselves?
You're a smart girl, Marinette. Tell me, Adam mused. Why haven't those countries nuked France already?
Because they'd be killing millions of innocent people!
You're thinking like a moral person. Don't. Think like a government.
Because... someone would retaliate? They'd get nuked for using nukes? she suggested. Mutually Assured Destruction. We learned about that in History class.
Getting closer, Adam agreed. And why would they be targeted?
Well... everyone would know what they'd done, right? The world would know who dropped the bombs on France. You can't hide that kind of thing.
There you go, approved Adam. We can do what we do because we do not exist, and we do not act openly unless the world itself is in the most dire peril. To step out of the shadows would invite a magical war with the forces that we monitor, and it'd make Monarch seem like a paper cut by comparison.
I can think of one time when the world was endangered, and I didn't get any help, frowned Marinette.
Chat Blanc?
...You KNOW about him?
Our agent assigned to that case had a twelve-minute window in which to act, said Adam, flatly. He was eight minutes too late. He paid the price.
What... happened to him?
Another pause.
You have one week to resolve this Monarch situation. We can stall them that long, warned Adam. Otherwise... we will be forced to take action, and take full control of the situation. And you will become very used to your current whereabouts, because with what you know... we can't have you running around loose once we've redistributed the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous.
Staring at the eternal black space around her, Marinette shivered. How am I supposed to do that?_ she cried out...
...and in a flash of white light, she was back in her bed, completely unnerved.

No, Mr. Bond, I Expect You To [Censored] Miraculous Prompt of the Day
A visit from a British super-agent leads Ladybug and Chat to an unexpected meeting with one of England's elite spy networks.
"This," the supervisor states while holding up a photograph, "is Mr. Bond. James Bond, code named 007. He is our most decorated secret agent, and an absolute terror in the field."
"If he's a secret agent," muses Chat, "why are you showing him to us? Kind of defeats the point."
"Alas, discretion is a rapidly shrinking option on our part," the supervisor sighs. "You see, Mr. Bond has two major issues. One is that he has been exposed to tremendous amounts of weird radiation over the years, both from villains' traps and schemes and from our own gadgetmaster's creations."
"...And?" asks Ladybug.
"And, Mr. Bond has a libido the size of Antarctica. He will lay with any woman who offers at the drop of a hat."
"I don't think I like where this is going," Chat murmurs.
"Just so. Agent 007 has left a trail of illegitimate children in his wake; 1,473 at last count. And due to the radiation's effects on him, roughly 10 to 20 percent of them have demonstrated superpowers. Almost all of them have been warped in some way, mentally or physically."
"So what you're telling us," frowns Ladybug, "is that you need us to track down and bring in a few hundred radioactive super-siblings with daddy issues?"
"We would do it ourselves," shrugs the supervisor, "but it's all we can manage to keep the Queen contained these days. Her nuclear core threatens to rupture at any moment."
"So much for sightseeing," Chat grumbles.

The Gift That Keeps On Giving - Miraculous Prompt of the Day
Adrien Agreste is an enormously happy young man. He has a job that he enjoys, enough savings to endulge in any pastime he chooses, a beautiful and cherished wife who adores him in return, three precocious children, a mischievous hamster... life couldn't get much better for the Agreste clan.
But where there is light, there are often shadows cast, as well.
Their heroic pasts are long behind them now, the threat of Monarch long since disposed of and the Miraculous all returned to a safe protector (all but one each, just in case they're ever needed). The exposure of Monarch's true identity had rocked both their worlds, but they handled it well; it was kept a secret from the general public, justice (of a sort) was served, and Paris rests easy knowing that no more villains lurk amongst them.
One of Monarch's more diabolical schemes, however, tampered with Ladybug's mind and perceptions, corrupting her soul, turning her into his most dangerous ally for a while. She shook it off, of course, and she and Chat won the day; that's what they did. Every once in a while, though, when stress gets to Marinette or the planets are in a certain alignment or fate chooses to exercise its whim...
Sitting in his kitchen, Adrien looks down at an unnerved Emma, running up to him. "Mama's... sparking," she murmurs.
Rushing to the bedroom, he finds Marinette crackling with purple energy, a transformation partway complete, held off by willpower alone. "G-get the kids to our shelter," she gasps. "Hurry, Adr... Adri..."
He runs as if the devil itself was chasing him, urging their children to take cover. Because he knows that this state might last five seconds, five minutes or five days... but the devil has indeed come to play, and Marinette Agreste is its favorite plaything, as always.

Won't You Let Me Take You On A Sea Cruise? Miraculous Prompt of the Day
A thrill ran through Adrien Agreste as he worked the oars on the small boat. He had hoped for everything to go right on this outing, and so far, it had.
It had taken a lot of persuasion for Adrien to be allowed to take out one of the small lifeboats on the riverboat. Words like "insurance" and "liability" and litigation" were thrown around, but in the end, puppydog eyes and sympathy won the day. "Half an hour," the captain conceded. "You'll have a tow rope, and you'll remain within line-of-sight at all times. And when we call to bring you back in, you won't argue."
And so, the scene was promptly set. The lights of the city reflected off the Seine, joined by tiny sparkles from uncountable stars. The weather had cooperated; the sky was clear, the air was warm, and a light breeze kept the temperature just right. It was a marvelous night for being out on the water.
And yet Adrien barely noticed his surroundings. The blue-eyed girl sitting across from him commanded his full attention. A touch of nervous anticipation was obvious in Marinette's manner... but her happiness at being there with Adrien overwhelmed that. To Adrien's eyes, she was nearly glowing, and her shy smile kept him from even feeling the effort of rowing out to the line's limit.
And once they were there, with a degree of privacy achieved, the magic seemed to redouble.
"Alone at last," Marinette giggled.
"Well... mostly."
At that, Adrien glanced across the boat at its other occupant -- a behemoth of a man in a nicely tailored suit.
"There was no way that Father would let me out here without him nearby," Adrien apologized. "But he promised me that he'd try not to spoil the mood."
The Gorilla nodded, with a faint smile. Seemingly out of nowhere, he produced a small tape recorder... and the melody of "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid filled the air.
Marinette laughed at that, and also at the sight of the hefty bodyguard lip-syncing its lyrics. But that stopped quickly, as the big man correctly assessed that neither teen was wasting any time watching him.
Adrien leaned a little closer, watching Marinette lean in as well. Only a small distance between them remained...
...and Adrien felt a meaty hand on the small of his back, gently encouraging him to make that distance disappear.
