OKAYY I finally decided to write (and finish something) short about two of my ocs, Tenebris and Brittany!! There will probably be mistakes and I'm not the best at writing, but enjoy! :D
The ritual was ready.
Tenebris and the other hooded members of their cult gathered together in a ring. In the centre of them was a ring of a mixture of sticky, warm blood and embalming oils.
With everybody kneeling down and covering their faces with their palms faced out, Tenebris stepped forward and raised their hands full of red powder as they gazed upwards.
“Today, we are gathered here to...once more...attempt to communicate with our one true Lord, Obitus.” announced Tenebris, their voice echoing across the room.
“We place our faith in Obitus.” everyone recited under their breath.
The leader took a deep breath.
“Lord, Obitus, ARISE!”
With that, Tenebris allowed the powder to seep out of their fingers and into the ring, and with the members chanting prayers it began to emit a scarlet smoke and a fiery heat. It was getting rather sweaty.
Slowly but surely, a tall, slim figure formed out of the smoke. As it all cleared away, Tenebris and the others finally were given the opportunity to speak to the one and only...
“Wait. What.” Tenebris’ eyes widened. Who was this demon girl standing smack bang in the middle of their summoning ring?! It certainly wasn’t Obitus- or at least they hoped it wasn’t. The demon looked a little...cutesy to be an otherworldly overlord.
“Um...hi there!! Ooh, you guys look quite spooky, don’t cha?” she looked around curiously until she noticed Tenebris. She gasped and waved.
“Hi!! Oh my gosh I LOVE the hair!! It’s so long!” she dashed forward- abruptly tripped and got up- then held out her hand. Tenebris gave her a weird look and reluctantly shook her hand.
She gave their hand a hard shake, beaming a smile.
“What’s your name- I’m Brittany! Oh, and what is this place? It looks really cool! Kinda dark, could use a little more lighting, bu-“
“TENEBRIS.” The cult leader interrupted Brittany, narrowing their eyes.
“THIS is my...” should they tell her this is a cult? Would she freak out? She didn’t seem like she wanted to leave. Which was irritating.
“...meetup! A club, yes yes...” Tenebris nodded slowly, attempting to smile somewhat normally.
Brittany tilted her head. “Really? Huh! I thought it was some kinda cult or something judging off the...y’know, vibes!”
“Well, well uh- I mean, you’re not...wrong-“ they were rather surprised at how quick she could guess that.
“Really? Nice! I’ve never been in a cult place before-“
“Temple.”
“-Temple before, I mean, I’ve just never really been to anywhere religious because. Yeah.” She shrugged.
They stood in silence for a moment, and then Brittany turned on her heels to greet the other members of the cult, who were at this stage completely and utterly baffled.
“Hi guys!! I’m Brittany, it’s so nice to meet you all even though I can’t see you very well! Is there a...light switch or anything here?”
One person turned around and pulled on a lever that was behind them, and a chandelier above them lit up. Tenebris shielded their eyes and looked away.
The demon smiled.
“Okay, thanks dude- what is that?” she stared down at the blood ring she was accidently summoned from. All of her joy appeared to vanish from her face.
“That?” Tenebris looked at it too.
“It was supposed to be a way of communicating to the god that we worship Obitus-“
“We place our faith in Obitus.” The cult recited once more.
“- BUT it seems like we made an error. Well, not me, I can’t make errors but CLEARLY one of my minions messed it up.” Tenebris glared at the members.
“Ooh, okay- I was wondering why you summoned me! Summoning demons this way is so 4 centuries ago- and it’s kinda gross. Eugh.” Brittany didn’t like the sight of blood.
Tenebris pondered.
“Now, what do we do with you...Brittany...you could perhaps...JOIN us, as your demonic powers could bring far more strength! Oh, and it would be quite impressive to show off to the inferior cults! Yes, that’s genius!” they grinned devilishly.
“Wait, wait, wait! Powers? I, uh- don’t have a lotta them!” Brittany awkwardly chuckled. “I can...fly, kinda, but not much else. Do horns count?”
Tenebris face drooped with disappointment. “Really? No powers, at all? No magic, no shapeshifting, nothing, you know, IMPRESSIVE?”
“Nope...Sorry!”
“...” they sighed. “What will we do with-“
Brittany had already ran off.
“Wh- PEOPLE! WHERE DID SHE GO?!”
They searched for the demon in a frenzy. What if she tampered with their things? What if she tampered with TENEBRIS’ THINGS?! NO-ONE tampers with Tenebris’ things!!
“Guys!! You never told me you had FOOD!”
Brittany gleefully strolled back with a tray of cupcakes in hands- wait, cupcakes??
Tenebris was surprised- and confused- by this as well.
“Can I have one? Just one? Please?” she gave them puppy dog eyes.
“Where did you FIND them, you, you- you imbecile?!”
“Oh. The cute lil’ fridge in the small black room over there!”
The ‘small black room’ was actually Tenebris’ room. Of course, they snatched those off a girl scout who came to their temple earlier on!
“Aw, there’s only 6...that’s definitely not enough for all of us!” Brittany frowned as she looked around the room.
“Do you have more, Tennis?”
“Tenebris.”
“That’s what I said, right?”
“No, YOU said- forget it. Give me those.” Tenebris took the box of cupcakes out of Brittany’s hands. She gasped.
“Come on! Can I PLEASE have one? I haven’t eaten in, like, hours!!”
“Will you leave if I give you one?” Tenebris raised an eyebrow.
Brittany nodded. “Mhm!! Yep!”
Even though they didn’t want to, they handed Brittany a cupcake topped with chocolate icing. The cult leader hated chocolate.
Brittany squealed and spun around with delight. She must have really liked cupcakes.
“Thank you! Thank you so much, oh my gosh!! This looks so good!”
She swallowed it whole like a snake and smiled.
“And it tastes good too!! Okay, I’ll be on my way now! Maybe there’s a bus stop nearby or something...” She took out her phone. Unfortunately, there was no signal.
Tenebris cleared their throat. “May Brittany be escorted out of the Obitus Temple?”
Three or four people gathered around Brittany and shuffled away, holding onto her arms. The demon waved a goodbye and left with them.
The cult leader rolled their eyes.
“That was...bizarre.”
They proceeded to take a cupcake out of the box and ate it crankily.

hmmmm for the art challenge, mila in punk attire and mysterious coworker in victorian attire would be so cool, no pressure!
Here they are! I thought I was going to have the most trouble with Mila cause I'm not good at fashion categories, but I feel that I actually did the worst with mysterious cowoeker(wondering wether or not I should drop his real name). I was trying to do something with he scarf there, but it didn't quite work. But still, here they are!!
