Got my first professional rejection from a literary agent. I knew it was a long shot and while I was really hoping for good news, I’m not disappointed either.
In fact, I’m kinda proud. I might have been rejected, but at least I tried.
Now I try again…

Why am I both excited and terrified of change? Something may be around the corner that can really change our life for the better, but it would also mean uprooting almost EVERYTHING else in my family’s life and that scares me. It’s that age-old question of sacrificing comfort for positive momentum, and part of me knows what the right answer is, but the rest of me is dreading the struggle it will be to accept it.
That is…if that situation even arrives because the opportunity that would demand this choice is still totally up in the air and I’m just overthinking everything at the moment like a crazy person.

I have this reoccurring dream that Zuckerberg has this Scrooge-like awakening and realizes that Facebook has caused more harm that anyone could have imagined and thus he decides to just shut it down. No warning or anything. One day here, next day gone.
I no longer see posts from MLM Huns trying to shill me sub-par goods. I don’t have to ignore that crazy uncle who thinks this is a “plan-demic” caused by the deep state and 5G. And no more ads for shirts that are supposed to be funny and sassy but don’t make sense at all.
It’s glorious.

I had a dream last night where I went to the grocery store and shopped without a mask. It’s been three hours since I woke up and I’m still kind of ashamed of myself.

Does anyone want to help me move to Canada? I don’t want to be here anymore. New Zealand is also on the table.

I’m currently reading “It Can’t Happen Here,” by Sinclair Lewis and the sick anxiety it stirs up is horrible. It’s almost a play-by-play of what’s happened over the past few years and as unsettling as that is, it’s not the most worrisome. No, what’s the most terrifying is the plot points that haven’t happened...yet.
People said that readers of is book were exaggerating when they proclaimed it to be a warning for our times, but they have been proven more right than wrong. We are only halfway through the story, however, and I fear the worse is to come if we aren’t careful.
To those who laugh at this book and unironically claim “it can’t happen here,” I counter that it can. It already has. And unless we change course, it’s only going to get worse.

Why is golf a “rich person” thing? Is golf something you automatically learn once you hit a certain income bracket? Or is it the other way around.

People who aren’t racist typically don’t have to say so as a qualifier. Their positive actions speak louder than any words.
