one thing that many forget when it comes to discussing whether jace or emma are the best shadowhunters is that many say that jace is only favored because of the extra angel blood, but forget that he trained hard with valentine for years, he was abused physically and psychologically to become a great soldier, and even after valentine's "death" he continued to train hard because he thought that if he didn't, the lightwoods would reject him and that he would be nothing!
now about emma, I'm not being her hater ok I'm just putting my point, until she was 12 years old, she trained like any other shadowhunter child, until her parents died and she started training hard to get revenge one day, and many forget that just like jace she had blood from extra angel to favor him, emma had Cortana, a LEGENDARY sword (BELIAL feared Cortana let's remember that too) that helped her kill one of the seven knights and the parabatai curse also gave her strength!
so it doesn't make sense how much jace is belittled just for having extra angel blood as if he didn't try (just like emma) to be a great shadowhunter

watching the first episode of the second season of shadowhunters and my god... they put jace to kill valentine (twice) with such great emotional ease, it seems that jace is so cold as to do this with his father of himself that man is a monster
moreover in cog jace was only determined to kill valentine because max died but en renwick soon when he found him again (which is the period that this first episode is being spent) he couldn't, he SHRIED
