The Four Horsewomen

Conquest

Her bright blue eyes are contrasted by the dark bags under them. She's lean but strong, and she towers above everyone she meets. She typically wears gym clothes or professional attire, her long golden blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail and a white Alice band sitting daintily atop her head like a crown. She always pushes herself past her breaking point, obsessed with being the best. Her job is her life and if she's not working, she’s exercising. She loves the competitive nature of sports but is not a team player, preferring individual sports like running or martial arts. She leaves little room for a social life, but the friends she does have are always reminding her to sleep and eat. She always has a coffee cup in one hand, phone in the other, as she rushes about from place to place. Her schedule is jam packed and she's always checking her watch, afraid she'll be late for something. At school she would stay up late every night studying or doing homework but somehow still found the energy to get up for her morning run. She is obsessed with being the most successful person she knows and strives to be the best at everything she does, no matter the cost.

War

She's merciless. Her eyes gleam with malice, partially hidden under her ruby red hair, one side short and tangled, the other shaven to reveal her ear covered in pointy studs. Her teeth are unnaturally sharp, unnerving everyone around her. Her face is always twisted up in sneer. A thick silver chain hangs around her strong neck. Her powerful muscles ripple underneath her leather jacket when she moves, strengthened by years of martial arts training. She seeks out fights, hiding weapons like small knives or knuckle dusters on her person at all times. This dangerous habit has marked her tawny skin with countless scars. She’s addicted to the way her blood red motorbike harshly roars to life beneath her before she takes off, rushing headlong down the highway not caring about trivial things like speed limits (after all, how can we truly enjoy life if the threat of it being taken away isn't ever-present?). She's intimidating and she knows it. In fact, she enjoys it, the rush of adrenaline when she knows she holds power over someone.

Famine

They say the eyes are the window to the soul but her eyes are so dark, people begin to wonder if she has one. The only thing staring back at those who dare to look, is ravenous hunger. Her ebony face is framed by tightly coiled midnight hair. Her curvy figure, dark eyeshadow and painted black lips draw people to her. She can be hard to spot when it's dark because she’s permanently dressed in all black, usually leather or lace. She craves secrets, often ruthlessly tearing relationships apart to satiate her appetite. She gorges on drama until she's sick and there's nothing left. Even then she can’t accept it's over and stays picking at the bones like a vulture, desiring more. She relishes in gaining people’s trust only to throw them aside when she's bored of them.

Death

She's calmer than the rest, cold and nonchalant. She’s dressed head to toe in monochrome; a constricting grey three-piece suit, a firmly knotted grey tie to match, a staunchly pressed white shirt, and tightly laced grey brogues. Her long silver hair is pulled back from her gaunt alabaster face into a severe bun, not a single hair out of place. Her steely grey eyes stare sternly through her wire-rimmed glasses, while her expression remains as unchanged as marble. Her skeletal frame gives her a fragile look, but her rigid posture conveys her unyielding character. Her bony fingers are clutched around her sleek pen, tapping it against her clipboard impatiently. She rarely ever speaks but when she does, her tone is clipped and demanding. She has a domineering air about her. She's bossy and no-nonsense and will not hesitate to utter a cutting and devastating insult.

Hey! I'm new to writeblr so I thought I'd do a wee intro.

I'm Iona, I'm 19, queer, a Hufflepuff, and I live in Scotland. My pronouns are she/her. I'm a uni student so I never have enough time to write lol. I mostly write NA fantasy but I do like to experiment and try new things. I also write a lot of LGBTQ+ stories and my favourite trope is found family.

I have way too many WIPs but my main ones are A Girl Worth Fighting For (a medieval sapphic short story about a knight and a princess), The Sinira Chronicles (a high fantasy series about kindness in the face of evil, family ties, and found family), and the Gladiators series (about four people from different backgrounds navigating their brutal, Roman Empire-esque world).
