Jarid arranged marriage AU
Ok ok so this is Jamil POV I’ll do a separate for Astrid ( hopefully it’s not too OOC)
Info below
[With unique magic in general Astrid doesn’t make eye contact with anyone due to his curse so Jamil can’t use Snake Charm unless he wants to risk getting cursed himself]
Background
They got engaged at 15 and set to be married at 21
Astrid is known as the cursed Rose who is the son of the late enchantress. Due to this when Marriage talks were happening people were scared that Kalim would get infected by Astrid curse.
Jamil being close in age and a Viper who severed the Asims for generations was offered up to take the position. He’s been told to everything to make sure that the marriage goes through as it’s not just for the Asims but county relations.
Jamil would see Astrid as someone he is also bounded to. He’s earliest memory was his family bowing to the Asims and the first thing he did was bow to his fiancé. Jamil would try to charm his way into getting on Astrid’s good side playing the role as a good fiancé but would get absolutely nothing. (Jamil acted servant to Astrid as he is a lord so rich kid trauma also plays). Astrid would always give vague answers or say he doesn’t want to take time away from Jamil’s duties.
Astrid would not go to any parties or gatherings held while staying in the scolding sands. Jamil would get yelled at for not being him leading to the on going hate for Astrid. He already has to deal with Kalim and now a stubborn Fiancé ,he had to beg Astrid to at least attend the engagement party they had a bit before going to NRC.
NRC ( beginning)
Most Things played pretty much in the canon story
Since him and Astrid are in separate dorms he felt he had a little bit of freedom.He mostly dealt with Kalim since Astrid doesn’t really talk to him in general. Though he did get some questions from Malleus
Jamil would learn more about Astrid mainly through Ruggie since he’s always at savannaclaw and a bit from Yuya.He’ll try to use this to his advantage per-OverBlot but his attempts were Blocked.
OverBlot
Astrid was there during Jamil blot.After letting out his feelings of Kalim he yelled at Astrid. How he’s the one who will get all the blame if things don’t go well, how he never wanted this marriage etc. Everyone would notice that Astrid would have no reaction while getting yelled at.
While Jamil was healing from his OB Astrid comes to his room to talk. Astrid apologize to Jamil and admit that he knew Jamil hated him from the beginning. Jamil asked why he didn’t say anything. Astrid only answered that Jamil is entitled to his feelings and didn’t feel a need to change it. Continuing by saying that the future of their engagement is up to Jamil and he will go along with whatever he decides. This made Jamil start getting mad again since he can’t just cancel ( Astrid never said anything about canceling the engagement it just how Jamil interpreted it)
As he was leaving Astrid told him to freely hate him without holding back anymore and that he doesn’t need to worry about him if it’s not pertaining to the marriage. Leaving Jamil realized all his efforts were for not and how did Astrid even know.
[ Jamil later told Astrid that he wanted them to act like their relationship improved. They don’t need to act lovingly but as they actually like each other in public to get people off their backs]
NRC ( After book 4)
Their relationship was still pretty strained. Jamil checked in on Astrid as he usually does but a bit less getting told not to worry. But some about Astrid still irritates him, he just doesn’t know what.
Book 5 Astrid gave compliments to Jamil and Kalim on their performance. There would also be a off hand comment about the fiancés from Grim  but that’s about it.
Book 6 Leona would asked if he treated Astrid the same way commenting on how he is way stronger than people think.( Jamil has only gotten Astrid more reserved side and Leona has gotten to see more of his personality and abilities)
Jamil was shocked asking what Leona meant, Leona said that Astrid was his fiancé and to figure it out himself
After coming back from STYX
Kalim would mention how Astrid was with him along with the twins
Jamil would later over hear Kalim and Astrid talking about how worried they were about the kidnapping. Getting confirmation that everything was okay and Declining to say over Jamil would come out where he was hiding. Asking Astrid what he was doing here so late wondering if he would give a different answer. Surprisingly getting the truth he said to just come directly to him about this stuff in the future.
Extra
The thing that irritates Jamil is Astrid’s lack of care over his own life. Living as if he was dead, locking himself in his room and not telling anyone after being poisoned.
Jamil hasn’t never said Astrid’s name referring to him as his title or My fiancé - when Astrid would ask who am I he would respond with Astrid title not understanding why Astrid has such a gloomy expression
Will get the context he needs on why Astrid acts the way he does when visiting Briar Valley. He becomes a bit more patient with him and more careful with his words.
Astrid has always given Jamil a birthday present the first one being a pair of earrings that match Jamil’s eyes. He won’t start wearing them until the relationship gets better. ( Jamil doesn’t give Astrid a birthday gift because no one knows when he’s birthday is)
Had to find Astrid when he decided to sneak out for the first time. Seeing that the boy was having fun he didn’t go get him immediately.
All engagement gifts were given to him to do as he sees fit but saw it as having to deal with Astrid’s  treasure .
Is able to do a good amount of solo travel after getting married bringing back a couple of gifts for Astrid
Leona told the 2 to get it together and that he’s not a marriage counselor

It’s very beach town like with ports and has a welcoming atmosphere with many people coming and going. Never-cove has a good relationship with merfolks and rumored to have fairies around.
- Has a Peter Pan how is her step brother. They would get into all kinds of fights which led to their parents getting close and later married. Fallon was not happy with this and doesn’t talk much to her family despite efforts.

Can drain the life energy out of any living thing he touches. When in use Iris will see a bottle slowly draining than represents how much energy is left in that person. Once it’s completely empty they person will die if not said person will feel extremely tired and weak depending how much was drained recovery is also dependent on this.If Iris is upset he can speed up the process.
He can also use it to just see how much life energy someone has left.
Iris hasn’t used his unique magic since he was 8 and refuses to use it. He will have to be heavily triggered into using it.

- Their table was broken by people in an attempt to bully them during his first year and Iris got incredibly sad because the Shroud parents gifted it to him for getting into NRC. The others were pissed hearing what had happened but first they repaired the table with a bunch of new upgrades.
- started taking a liking to machines while look at some of Idia’s old blue prints and was given some of the unfinished or failed projects to tinker with. When Ms. Shroud learned about this she hoped on the opportunity to teach them.

-Since Iris is mute Vil changed up the audition for him a bit and asked Iris to reenact on of his scene through movement and facial expressions- A show don’t tell
- Iris was mainly interested in the behind the scenes of film production while joining the club
- Has a big collection due to dorm mates giving him their duplicates from blind boxes and things like that because they know he’ll take it.
- Idia calls Iris a super villain for how mischievous they can be. Like Idia called them a pet one time and the next day  Iris is playing his pre-teen playlist that he had deleted from a existence 
- Doesn’t take it to heart when others stay away from him
- One of his friends is from Pomefiore is named Yvonne and she basically just claimed them on site. She does his nails using them as a guinea pig for new designs but Iris likes them so doesn’t really care as long as she keeps them short.

Backstory
Iris was born in a research facility kinda like STYX. His father was teacher in charge of the other kids in the facility and his mother was a researcher studying ancient materials. He was known to be an intelligent child growing in interest in ancient texts like his mother.
When Iris was 5 he developed his unique magic while holding a plant seeing some kind of bottle that was draining. Telling his parents they were shocked and did their best to help Iris understand his magic given that their both magic less. During that time Iris caught the interest of the doctor who is in a different facility   offering to study Iris abilities. The parents refused getting a weird feeling from said doctors.
Over the next 3 years the doctor would continue to offer taking Iris in even trying to talk to Iris when his parents were away.  This scared Iris making him refusing to leave his parents side. Even after his mother’s disappearance he was basically glued to his father.
The day of his father death is something he’ll always remember.
Iris killed two people that day the Doctor and his father.
Father said that there would be some people visiting and that they needed to pack up some things. When they were leaving Iris saw the doctor come up behind his father.
The doctor stabbed his father with some needle and tried to drag him away. He used his unique magic, he had to get away from that man. Iris just wanted to weaken the man but from the distress he didn’t pay attention to the bottle draining quickly. Once the doctor let go he ran back to his father
With his father what ever the doctor injected into had his dad in pain. They tried to get to the place where they needed to go but Father couldn’t make it. The pain was unbearable , he was coughing up blood and he couldn’t move anymore so Iris used his unique magic so that his dad wouldn’t die in pain. The bottle was less than half full and was draining without Iris even doing anything.
Iris was later found by STXY.

Warren Elwood age 13
the only son and oldest of the Elwood family But his parents are actually his aunt and uncle but due to the loss of their son they used their niece to replace their son. Warren’s mother was getting really sick (she was getting poisoned)a bit after he was born so he was already in the care of his aunt and uncle as she “recovered”.
Warren isn’t really allowed to go out other than gatherings due to the parents obsession with him being the perfect heir so most of his days are spent studying. Warren is skilled with swords and likes mystery novels. He wants to travel so sometimes he sneaks out with his maid/caretaker when his family is out.
(His caretaker is be a being that his mother made a contact with)

Her fake arc was called “the Dancing Demon” some time after the Green witch arc
Harper is a child of an affair and was given up to a dance company to save the marriage/ just get rid of her.
She quickly learned and gives it her all in her dance catching the audience.Harper is later referred to as the Dancing Dove for her graceful dancing and demeanor.Will always know the latest rumors and good at keeping up with appearances.
Her time at the dance company was not the best but she has no where else to go. Later a group commissioned for Harper to perform a gathering but in reality they were planning to sacrifice her needing a young maiden to do a specific dance for the ritual to be successful.
Harper also has a little sister named Felicity (9)who has also gained some popularity.Not wanting her to be taken advantage of Harper took the girl under her wing developing a sisterly relationship. ( Felicity is pretty protective of Harper)
Harper has 2 endings 1 if she’s not saved she will become a reaper and 2 if she is saved she will be sent to a different dance company and married off to a noble son.( Harper will take Felicity with her when she gets married)
