Blurry Alter / Blurred Alter

An alter who just feels blurry to others when they front. You can’t tell who they are, it’s like when the front is blurry but it’s just one alter. You may be able to figure it out or may realize who it was later, but at the moment you can’t tell. You may be able to tell general age, whether they’re masc/fem/neutral/other/etc, and/or so on. But you still can’t tell who they are or can’t tell quite who they are.

Masked Absorber

An alter who absorbs excess something in order to mask it or hide it from the system or from others outside the system. They usually also mask when fronting.

Examples of things they can mask: love, attraction, emotions, disorders, disorder symptoms, pain, illness or sickness (chronic or just something like the flu), fatigue, etc. They can mask multiple things or one thing. They may not always mask and they may have other jobs.

This flag can be used as a base to create specific types of Masked Absorber flags. The three thin middle stripes and mask should stay, but the other six larger stripes can be whatever colours!

Masked Holder

An alter who holds something in order to mask it or hide it from the system or from others outside the system. They usually also mask when fronting.

Examples of things they can mask: love, attraction, emotions, disorders, disorder symptoms, pain, illness or sickness (chronic or just something like the flu), fatigue, etc. They can mask multiple things or one thing. They may not always mask and they may have other jobs. What they mask may change.

We drew the mask icon ourselves. The expression is tired and sad or drained from having to mask constantly or near constantly. The icon and flag template are both below the cut if you’d like to use it to make your own!

For the template, the three small stripes in the middle and the mask symbol should be on every flag! The six (three on bottom and three on top) wider stripes can be any colours! And you may use six different colours instead of three different colours!

Involun: involuntary | Quell: to kill

A term for alters that hold trauma related to being forced to kill someone (for RAMCOA/OEA/TBMC/programmed systems only). This includes if the attempt was unsuccessful. This was intended to be used for people, but may also include killing animals or attempting to kill animals in an abusive manner. (There does not have to be a specific reason for killing people and/or animals, but some examples of reasons could be sacrifices, to protect the abusers, to set an example, as punishment, to hold more control over or manipulate the alter or system, etc.)

The syskid version would be Involunquellkid, and the same flag would be used.

Meercatkid is a similar term, but for littles holding trauma for being forced to kill people.

Involun: involuntary

A term for alters that hold trauma related to being forced to harm someone (for RAMCOA/OEA/TBMC/programmed systems only), regardless of how much or how bad. This can include any sort of harm or abuse, regardless of how minor or how major you consider it to be. This includes failed attempts to harm someone. This can also include being forced to harm or attempt to harm animals, not just people. Some examples would be physical abuse, verbal abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, rape, animal abuse, mental abuse, pyschological abuse, emotional abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, religious abuse, grooming, bullying or cyberbullying, sextortion, etc. It can also include abusing someone into developing or fully developing a disorder, worsening their existing disorder symptoms (regardless of if they have the "full-blown" disorder or if they are only showing some traits), and/or intentionally triggering their disorders. Disorder examples are dissociative disorders, addictions, eating disorders, personality disorders, etc. It can also include worsening physical issues.

The harm can be done to anyone or anything (such as animals) of any age, sex, gender, etc.

The syskid version would be Involunharmkid and the same flag is used for both terms.

Psuedoseparate Sisasystem

A sisasystem (subsystem, sidesystem, layer, etc) who believes themselves to be and/or claims to be a separate body than the rest of the system. One or some alters within the sisasystem may be aware that they are not actually in a separate body, but they go along with it anyway. This flag works for any type of sisasystem. Below is the definition of a pseudoseparate subsystem

Psuedoseparate Subsystem: a subsystem who believes themselves to be and/or claim to be in a separate body than the rest of the system. This may be for any type of subsystem (such as the systemception kind or the grouped together kind). One or some alters within the subsystem may know that they are not actually within a separate body, but they go along with it anyway for the others within the subsystem.

Front Room Host / Locked Host

Internalizer

An internalizer is a headmate who holds negative internalized feelings. These feelings are often internalized ableism, homophobia, transphobia, but they are not limited to just that. These headmates will often be pessimistic because of this role.

This internalized feelings are the result of abuse and/or conditioning done to hate these specific groups of people.

This role doesn't excuse shitty behavior or any intentional hate towards this groups.
