What Ian and Mandy from Shameless is exactly how I see Roxy and Dirk half the time (moreover in my AU). There's this deep emotional compassion for each other's situations and they have this bond that isn't romantic but it's definitely more than just friendship. No matter how far apart they are, they'll always be ready to be there for the other when they see each other next. And I think if Roxy and Dirk were around each other more, they'd actually be really physically comfortable and not mind platonic cuddling
