Most people had no idea that I was shy. They might have mistaken my quietness for rudeness or even arrogance. This is a common error, and worth bearing in mind the next time you perceive someone as rude: are they actually just shy? What would happen if you gave them some extra time, and cracked that shy shell? ~Shy, Annie Ridout ❓ Have you assumed someone is an introvert because they were shy? #booksonbooksonbooks #nonfictionbookclub #personalitytest #personalitytypes #introvertlife #shy #introverts #bookstoread #introvertproblems #selfhelpbooks #selfhelpauthor #selfhelpquotes #introvertstruggles #introverting #mindfulliving #nonfictionbooks #personalgrowth #bookstagram #personaldevelopement #success #successmotivation #booksofinstagram #successtips #motivatingbooks #bookstagramnewbie #bookstagramindia #readingday #selfimprovement #readingisfundamental #readstagram (at India : इंडिया) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSLoQUgLFzM/?utm_medium=tumblr

Give your hearts but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together yet not too near together; For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. ~ The Prophet, Khalil Gibran This book took Gibran more than eleven years to be perfected. It is his best-known work. ‼️3 Things I do to get back my creative spirit ‼️ Mon Voir sums it perfectly, he says “Create something today, even if it sucks.” It happens with every creator that you get stuck and can't think of anything new sometimes. Not even a single idea pops out from that big head. This is what I do when I get into a creative block 👇 The first place I go to is everyone's favourite ✔️ PINTEREST 😍 It's full of ideas and inspiration. ✔️ I scroll through the FEEDS of people I admire. Creativity can hit you anywhere anytime. And, these 2 PAGES are my favourite for inspiration and tips and tricks 👇 ✔️ @canva and @preview.app These two pages have some amazing posts and story ideas that they keep sharing often. 😤 And if nothing works, I binge watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S coz that keeps me away from all the earthly problems 😂 ❓What is your go-to place for creative inspiration? Do share with me, I need to add something more to my list✌️ (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ07cIJrzkA/?utm_medium=tumblr

⚠️ INDIAN MYTHOLOGY LOVERS ⚠️ 🐚She has a major role in Mahabharata. A princess who completely denied patriarchy and fought alone for her freedom and married Krishna. Rukmini in TV shows is shown in a simple, saintly get up but from this book we come to know that after Krishna, she is the only one in Dwarka who kept it united. We were also told about the feeling of jealousy Satyabhama and Rukmini held and this book presents a different side to the story. It can be called a myth buster with an easy and understandable language. The author has very deeply introduced all the characters. There are incidents full of action, suspense and adventure. After Rukmini came to Dwarka, she discovered a different lifestyle. Will she be able to adapt easily to the customs of Dwaraka? What are the untold challenges Rukmini faced at Dwarka? How was the relationship between Rukmini, Krishna and the other co-wives? 💯The book is worth reading by mythology lovers and those who want to read about a different perspective on Rukmini. If you love reading books with female protagonist, pick this up. It will leave you wonderstruck. Thank you @rupa_publications for this wonderful copy. 🤩Suggest me a book with female protagonist! •••••••••••• I AM A FAILURE •••••••••••• "Oh no, a deep heavy feeling of sadness. This must mean I'm a failure and my life sucks and I'm screwed. Everyone knows only losers feel sad" Have you ever read a book that asks you to accept your unwanted, taboo thoughts that are somewhere hidden in your unconscious mind? Have you ever read a book that tells you that events happening in your life right now are happening because your unconscious mind wants that? Yes. Think deep. 'Existential Kink' is all about it. It's about looking inside into your unconscious, into your fears, pains, triggers, to admit you not just want 'good' things everytime but 'the bad stuff too. This book is all about accepting your not so acceptable thoughts, your dark side, your guilty pleasures and how when you accept and embrace that, your spirit will start saying "Everything is perfect right now!" This isn't a preachy book. It will provide some practical pieces of advice. Some exercises that you can do to accept your shadow. Also, it has some instructions before you do what the author explains. 👉 I enjoyed reading this as it was completely a different perspective to the unconscious. Applying some of the thought to myself, I started accepting my flaws, my absurd thoughts and feel less guilty and that saves a lot of time. 💯So if you want to read something for your Mind, Body & Spirit. Pick this up! You won't regret it. Also, comment down below your guilty pleasures 😜 (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPFVk2brvgu/?utm_medium=tumblr

📚 Authors • Marketing • Books So after reviewing & posting for almost 2 years, some of the platforms that I feel work best for authors to market their books & have helped me gain a huge reach myself is what we'll talk about in this post. 🙈 I am basically giving away my 2 not so secret platforms. But there's nothing better than sharing. 1️⃣ We know Instagram has been doing wonders for authors & their books if they know the right way to market them & reach out to the right kind of audience. Also, their page for book promotion matters when they want to talk about it. And why not? Everyone is busy promoting themselves & authors should not hesitate either. ❌ The only thing I would suggest authors is to not reach out to people who copy-paste the synopsis & not talk anything original about the book. They are not promoting your book. They're ruining it ❌ 2️⃣ Quora Spaces have been one of my favourite place to talk about the books I read & when it comes to talking about the newly published books they have given huge reach to my posts. But the only secret to it is the right way to write on those spaces & not get restricted or your posts will get hidden by the admin if you're doing it wrong or may not even be approved. 3️⃣ Facebook Readers' Groups are another way to talk to the audience who is genuinely interested in books. I know there are so many groups that are nothing more than spam. But do a little research for the right group where people talk about reading & books and avoiding spamming them so that you can talk about your book now and then or if you're a reviewer such groups can be really helpful if you want to market the book for the author but again the right way to do it matters because you too don't want to be a spammer. I could have written about more than 9 platforms where I review but these 3 have been the most effective ones when it comes to getting me huge views & shares and that is how I have been helping authors with their book marketing. ⁉️Are there any other platforms that work best for you & you would like to share? Also, if you liked this post, share this with your author/reviewer friends. This might help them. (at United States) https://www.instagram.com/p/COam3OWrFg8/?igshid=1d1mvoq6s617p

5️⃣ things you need to do before reaching out to publishing houses for review copies👇 If you're reading this post, you're probably a book lover. And if you're a book lover, you must have fantasized about receiving books from big publishers like HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Pan Macmillan, Rupa Publications & more. Am I right or am I right?😅 I know this because I have been at this place for a year but I always knew that a day would come when I will receive review copies from them✊ I had to do a little labour before I could reach out to them. Because why would they send me copies if I have no audience? 👉So I am sharing 5 things I did before approaching them: 1. Build an audience. If you think that your Instagram audience is not big enough, be on different platforms. It will increase your reach. Some platforms I am on: Twitter, Quora, Pinterest, Facebook. 2. Don't copy-paste the same content on every platform. Take time to understand the audience on it & then plan accordingly. Like, Quora works completely different from Pinterest 3. Follow all the guidelines that Amazon has & fill their Verified Influencer form. That certainly increases your views & gives credibility to your work. 4. When you're confident enough about your insights & audience, write down an e-mail copy you will be mailing to the publishers. If you don't do that right, you might never hear from them. 5. Last, a motivational key to all this. KEEP TRYING. I have had times when publishers did not even reply negatively. I thought that big publishing houses prefer 10k club bookstagrammers but it's not true. So just do it. One day out of the blue, you'll hear from them & that will be a big moment✌️ 💁Hope these points were useful. I will be bringing out more of such content since a lot of bookstagrammers reach out with these questions to me. 👇Let me know in the comments what you want to know about in specific. Maybe I write about it next. ☑️If you liked the post, share and let others know about it too. (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CONsRkqrKxA/?igshid=iddeo0mv0o0x

❓What did you read today on World Book Day?📚 This World Book Day, there's just one thing I want to insist on. Read, read, read😀 That's one of the heritage I want to leave behind. My Books. I want people to remember me as a girl who used to read🤓 Books have taught me so much while I grew up. They have been one of the reasons that I could imagine, I could be creative, I could think & question. And if my mother wouldn't have stricken me in my childhood when I hated reading those poems and passages😩 & asked me to read on my own I wouldn't have been a reader today🙈 So it's all thanks to her😍 Who would you thank today for making you a reader?😃 (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/COA4UK_rCAU/?igshid=u4btuxc7wncr

❓When you look at this title, what is the first thing that comes to your mind about this book? Recently @westland_books sent me this stunning bright book. But what thrills me more is the blurb that says SEVEN STRANGERS. SEVEN SECRETS. ONE PERFECT CRIME. Read a few starting chapters & I get the feeling of that show that does the live telecast of 'survival-of-the-fittest where you have a few contestants and they have no idea what mission they might be attempting. Also, the feeling right now is the same that I got while I saw the Wrong Turn. I hope it's going to be a nail-biter. Have you ever read such a book before? Suggest me some crime thrillers😬 (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN9jNYGrPTd/?igshid=kz9es4146u4x
