types of healthy coping skills
1. self-soothing
comforting yourself through the 5 senses
Touch: stuffed animals, stress balls, taking a bath, a soft blanket
Hear: music, audio book, guided relaxation
See: snow globe, glitter, calming images, art, anything that pleases you visually
Taste: tea, mints, gum
Smell: lotion, candles, incense
2. distraction
removing your focus from the stressor for a period of time
puzzles, art, crafting, reading, movies, gaming, exercise, being social
3. opposite action
doing the opposite of the impulse that aligns with a positive emotion
affirmations, inspiration, lighthearted and encouraging focus
4. emotional awareness
identifying and constructively expressing what you’re feeling
journaling, listing emotions, using a emotional identification chart, drawing, therapy
5. mindfulness
centering and anchoring yourself to the present moment
meditation, guided relaxation, yoga, breathing exercises, candle gazing, going for a walk
6. ask for help
this is important to do when you feel like your coping skills are not enough or they are too negative and detrimental
therapy is ideal for helping a person create a healthy coping strategy and incorporate it into their life
*a coping skill is considered healthy if it helps you to deal with stress more positively, does not hinder your progress, and isn’t harmful physically or mentally. A coping skill can become negative when it is used to completely avoid dealing with the stressor.

I am about a week ahead for readings but I'm starting to feel a bit stressed about assignments piling up. I have two short ones that I'm going to finish by the end of the week, then I'm going to finish the last one hopefully by this time next week. Gotta keep myself accountable! ✌️

Hey y'all! So today we're going to be talking about some tips for studying when you're sick
Before we start I'd just like to mention that when you're sick pleaseee prioritize taking care of yourself and only study if it's really really important! Your health should be first and foremost!!
Make sure you're taking meds. This one is prettyyyy obvious! If you take medication chances are you will recover much much faster. Of course try to opt for the non-drowsy meds because nobody wants to be sleepy & study
Drink hot drinks! Try to stay away from cold drinks as they might make your heath a lil bit worse. Drink tea and coffee (mix in some herbs for a faster recovery 🌿✨) and ofc drink lots of water.
Get enough sleep! Alrighttt so maybe it's exam season but if you don't get 8 hours of sleep a day then you will end up getting sicker and in turn, will not be able to study! So please adjust your schedules to allow for that extra sleepy time 🤗💤
Try to keep your mind light. Feeling stressed out ain't ever good my loves but it's especially bad when you're sick.
Sit down to study on your desk. Studying in bed will increase your chances of procrastinating and being lazy! Opt for sitting at your desk in your most beloved pajamas.
Set little rewards for yourself to self-motivate. For example, "if I finish upto this page number, I can watch one cat video on YouTube."
Use the pomodoro timer! Try to avoid slouching off in your breaks and do something productive like making your bed, changing into fresh clothes, spending some family time.. etc
Do not skip a shower. Trust me, the idea of showering when you're sick is irritating butttt once you do shower I promise you will feel so much better!
I hope y'all enjoyed this short post 💜remember that I'm always here if you need someone to talk to!

October 2nd, 2019!
2) Tea, coffee, or neither?
Ouu this one is difficult. I drink both frequently and I enjoy both. I’d say coffee because of the enormous caffeine boost that I find essential every morning. Tea is good, but it doesn’t pump me up as much as coffee does.
@stu-dna ! :)

Day 25/100 of productivity. It’s been a hard week and today was a hard day. I decided to write that note to spread that note to myself and you all. Trying to note the small but significant wins:
- Finished math homework

2019_10_02
I decided to also do the Oktober Study Challenge by @stu-dna. Since I just the challenge it today, i‘ll do number 1 and 2
So first: Introduce thyself! What are you studying? What are your goals for this month? This year?
I‘m 24 years old and study law in Germany. I just realised that I want to improve my English. But that’s a long term goal. My goals for this month are: visit all lectures, get up earlier and I do the October Study Challenge. Since the year is almost over, my goals are quite the same as for this month. I also would like to improve in my health and do more sports regularly and eat healthier. Those last weeks I had a break down in my nutrition
Second: Tea, coffee, or neither?
Both. But i can‘t drink more than two cups of coffee in one day. And on hot summer days I love to drink some cold tea with ice Cubes.

Some of my goals for this month are: - study more
-study effectively
-study
-start a photography website and get more into photography
-workout everyday
-complete at least one self care activity everyday
-reach 500 followers on this account
-Try and get 7 hours of sleep everynight
Some goals this year are:
- Start making an impact in terms of mental health at my school
- Get more into things I’m passionate about
- Experience the things I love with the people I love
- Get a 1250+ on a practice PSAT 10/11
