Something that helps me feel more shifty is wearing my gear, of course, but then walking/running and seeing it in my shadow, blending the two into one being in my outline.

This helps with my envisage and phantom shifts.

The purpose of this survey is to collect data about the experiences of people who feel sensations of nonhuman body parts, for example, wings or a tail. Some call these supernumerary phantom limbs, phantom shifts, otherlimbs, or astral limbs, though you may have other preferences for the words you use for your own experiences. If you haven't had those experiences, you can participate in this survey too. This survey was made for people who call themselves otherkin, therianthrope, furry, or any other potentially alterhuman or nonhuman identity. If you don't describe yourself with any of those words, you can participate in this survey too.

Who is running this survey and why: The person running this survey is Orion Scribner (they/them), an otherkin/therianthrope who has been making projects about these communities since 2005. I will use the results in my panel at an Internet-based convention later this year (OtherCon 2024), and in other future research projects.

So I've been told that both can be true, but if it is soley developmental factors that made it, there are other alterhuman terms that can explain that.

My envisage shifts are so common for me that before I found the term, I kept questioning if it was aurashifts but that never felt quite right to describe it. I'm so happy I found the term envisage shift to describe my experience because it is an accurate term for it.

I think the idea that you were born a therian is a limiting theory. I know you cannot choose to be a therian. From psychological theories, you may have developed your therianthropy through childhood based on animals that are/were in your area, animals you liked growing up, or even your own pets and that was after your birth & due to environmental factors.

as of April, 2024: officially identify as therian [theriotype/pet space is black cat], otherkin: magic (cladokin style) kintype, and kith: wolf & fox. I own some black cat therian gear and well as nonwearable kith gear. I also own some magic kin unofficial gear. =^w^=

Questioning a new theriotype: fox, wolf, both or something similar.

Things I know for certain:

I like making animal vocals.

I am a black cat therian with psychological theories to explain this.

I have happy tail wag phantom limb experiences.

I am probably magic kin (cladokin style).

Things I don't know:

I am not sure about my magic kin shifts or if I have any.

Am I wolf kin, fox kin, both, or something similar? Currently I label these connections as otherheart/kith.

For me it was the furry fandom through TikTok explaining the differences and seeing some people who identify as both. Then I attended a few therian meditations at a furcon and have found that I am a therian & otherkin.
