Note
It is really pretty common to believe in the idea of a higher power and not associate with or believe in any organized religion.
The percentage of people who are not affiliated with a organized religion is actually quite large and increasing (21% of GenX 34% of millennials).
However, those numbers include people who believe, believe in the possibility of, or who don’t believe.
How can you believe in God but not be religious?
i don’t believe in any religion. you can believe in god and not believe in a specific religion.

#likeagirl vs #likeaboy
Just incase people don't see the video caption...
Tumblr media
Of all the campaigns for people to pull the “what about us card?” this one, really?
"#likeagirl what about #likeaboy? wheres the commercial about boys?"
This is one of the most obvious and elementary levels of bias against the female gender and men are asking why they aren’t getting a campaign supporting what it means to do something “like a boy”?
Trying to help women overcome one societal misconception— that their athletic ability and sports are lesser to men— is one small struggle that men can not relate to. So no, there is not a campaign equivalent like this for boys.
If they made a campaign for misconceptions about boys it wouldn’t be about shaming their athletic ability, it would be about shaming them for things like wanting to show their paternal side as a kid and have a baby doll, or wanting to be in fashion or design, or maybe wanting to be a stay at home dad. Those are the kind of things men are told they can’t do.
Men aren’t considered “made to be” fathers like womens are accepted as “made to be” mothers and they are not encouraged to care for and nurture baby dolls in practice for parenthood like girls are. Men are told interests like fashion and decorating aren’t “in their nature” and that girls are “naturals” at colors, style, and coordinating. Men are considered weak and pathetic when they are stay at home parents and are criticized for not “providing for their families” if they stay at home to raise kids.
Those are some of the misconceptions boys actually face. But in athletics, boys have it pretty damn good.

Cansentual and Safe BDSM vs 50 Shades of Grey
BDSM is a community that believes in safety & comfort. Consent is always necessary, and partners take care of each other. After acts and roleplays, partners comfort each other to help transition out of that zone. FSOG does not include any of this. Mr. Grey gives Anastasia (a then-virgin) an ultimatum; to sign a contract or leave. She is sexually inexperienced (being a virgin) and he manipulates that to push her boundaries to make it seem like the sexually violent things he is doing to her are okay. There are instances where after an act, he is mad at her for being upset, but does not comfort her. He uses alcohol to sway her consent – this is by law rape. There is also an instance where she uses the safe word, yet he continues. That is consent being retracted, and Christian ignores the retraction of consent. That is sexual assault.
Those are not the only problematic instances. Anastasia begins to hide things in fear of Christian’s anger. He becomes jealous and easily angered. Anastasia fears for her safety. Experts have even matched her behavior with that of abused women, in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s description of partner violence.
This book completely throws people who participate in BDSM completely under the bus by misrepresenting BDSM as a whole. Bad people do sneak into BDSM to find a way to escape persecution for their violent ways, but the majority of those in BDSM are not abusive, like this book would have you believe.

Who ever designed and made these sharks needs to get to mass producing them and selling them while everyone still cares.
It actually looks like a super comfy footy pajama lol. Just pop your head out the  mouth like a hoody.

I’m not alone when I say February is the most trying time of the year to be engaged with social media.  Obviously I love that we are putting extra focus on black people and our contributions, but for every few people paying due reverence and spreading awareness, there’s That White Person who says “why is there no White History Month?” or “why is there no White Entertainment Television?” or “Black History Month is just reverse racism.”
I’d just like to assist my brothers and sisters in the struggle and provide a few answers for you to throw back at them.
Do not engage.  Do not debate.  Just drop some quick knowledge and bounce because I promise you any conversation that will be had is not going to be cute and will probably be all for naught.  I can only remember one or two times where I tried to have meaningful dialogue with a Reverse Racism Crier (RRC) and the opponent actually heard what I was saying and came to their senses.  Still, complete silence is usually met with foolishness like “See? I must be right because you don’t have anything to say,” so just quickly get in, impart some wisdom, and get out.
Why is there no White History Month? Because every month is white history month.  I know we’ve all said that before, but throw in some actual knowledge to go along with the statement to completely shut that RRC down.  Try this.
You: Who was the white man who “discovered” America? RRC:  Christopher Columbus, duh. You:  Who was the Native American that he first made contact with in America? RRC:  (Silence) You:  What was the name of the tribe of people he first made contact with that were already living in the area for thousands of years before Columbus showed up? RRC:  (Silence) You:  American History is white history.  Thank you and good night.
Why is there no White Entertainment Television? Because every channel is White Entertainment Television.  We’ve all said that as well, but try to give your RRC some homework.  Tell him to pick 27 television stations, one for each day in February.  See if he’ll watch one or two hours of television each day around the same time.  For every non-white character with a speaking part, draw a circle.  For every non-white main character draw three circles.  At the same time, for every white character with a speaking part, erase a circle and for every white main character, erase three circles.  Just for fun, tell him to start day one on BET so he’ll have some circles to begin with.  Be sure to give that white person your phone number so he can call you the next day when he runs out of circles.
Why is there Affirmative Action for black people and not for white people? Because employment in general is affirmative action for white people.  For example, this handy little study by the University of Chicago that says white job applicants are 50% more likely to be called back for a job interview even when the resumes are of similar experience, education, and background.  Would you like that exemplified to you in a real life experience?  Please read this entire article written by a black woman who was unemployed for two years and, to find out if white women had the same trouble, changed the name on her resume from Yolanda to Bianca, checked “white” on Monster.com and received 9 phone calls within the week.
And remember…disengage quickly and don’t waste your time.  Happy Black History Month!

So, real talk. Ever since I was younger I always felt super insecure about my body and my build. I was always getting insulted and told that I was “too thin”. Hell, I used to always wear a shirt in the pool because I didn’t want anyone to see how thin I actually was. Now that I’m 23, I’m finally starting to feel comfortable with my own body and accepting of my build. So after so much back and forth on it, here is my first ever shirtless selfie.
