Encountered Naxals… Well it’s true, gun in my hand is real and such 8more guns were kept beautifully in front of me. It was hot sunny day in summer of 48 degree and we group of 5 photographer, locations hunter, local guide and support, script writer and myself. We walked around three mountains and entered the den of Naxals basically we went exploring temple which was in the middle of mountain and during shravan Shiv Bhakra come in flocks for prayers. Shiva resides here and one sadhu heads the show. To stay at this location you have to bring spices along because food is served for free by sadhu and he is facilitated by villagers or May be naxals. When my team reached the spot and I was following as water was all over from 4kms and we had walked around 18kms that day. When I entered the hut there were 6 men with 9guns of which two guns were new and well loaded. I greeted them all and they welcomed me and handed over this gun and was asked to do whatever I wish to with the gun. Anyways so it was obvious though I had opportunity to try my hands on it. We were later guided by them to the cave and we explored and had nice cold water visit nearby and after having meal of rice, dal and potato dry bhaji or bhujiya. And returned back. We had plan to stay that night but scenario was not that pleasant enough as we had lot many cameras and expensive one and script writer was my responsibility so we returned back that night around 2am This was in Bihar’s naxal affected area. But this experience was non the less memorable. Thecha is mix of green chilly , peanuts, ginger and Garlic but the make is by beating all this ingredients and that beating is called Thecha in Marathi. Well the Two mugs on the side are Tari medium spicy and burning spicy with onion cut in small pieces and to flavour it was Papad. Garhwali वेशभूषा (outfit), Garhwali भोजन (cuisine), Garhwali मेहमान नवाज़ी (guest Warming)… During my recent visit to Chardham although was my second trip to chardham, where I included those destination along with Dhams which I was unable to do previously. Like Hemkund Sahib, Mana Village, Gaumukh, Gauri Kund. Helicopter ride to Kedarnath complete air view. And also I explored or I must say got opportunity to taste the delicacy of Garhwali cuisine which I never had before, as it is becoming rare to find authentic Garhwali food anymore unless special request is made. Even locals have transformed their diet. Whereas the food I am eating here is best suited In the weather condition in uttrakhand valley. But it is sad to know you will get food which is not local but inherited so tourist coming from different part get what they want rather than served what is best suited in climatic condition where oxygen level goes down at height, where cold weather can best consumed with warming diet. I want wide lens view…slide for image 2 32kms trek to Holy Shrine of Shri Amarnath Cave from Pahalgam route will always leave you mesmerised and awestruck with the beauty around you. The stress or I must say the struggle of achieving the height of steep climb is definitely a task to cover and a goal to accomplish. Pahalgam route towards holy cave is achieved mostly within 2days time provided you reach out the check post on right time or else may even take you one more day to go. Route Map 1) First day from Chandanwari you cover Pissu Top steep 3kms climb 🤪👇🏼 Pissu top to Sheshnag will get ease of ups and down of around 9kms. Altogether 12kms with few Bhandaras for snacking and meals are covered on very first day. Mind you Sheshnag Check post closes by 2pm. So stay and enjoying the beauty of lake side view. 2) Second day move at 5am when check post gates are opened at Sheshnag and 👇🏼 Now again you are ready for steep climb to Ganesh top for 4.5kms, oh man why always trek starts with steep climb?🤪👇🏼 And we land at Wajbal where you get to have delicious snacking and meal at Bhandara 👇🏼 Well don’t stuff too much because at Poshpatri you are going to enjoy 5star varieties of Snacks and meals 😛👇🏼 Further you reach at Poshpatri with down hill ease throughout from Ganesh top to Panjtarni. But now again 3kms steep climb is waiting for you and further 3kms from Sangam top to Holy cave and here you complete your 20kms trek of the day at ease😄 Altogether two days journey is 32kms in all. Between keep enjoying the view because treks are meant to sooth your eyes and peace within yourself. Mental and physical health both are achieved with such treks.
