Wow it's ALWAYS the leg!
Let me explain! For some strange cosmic fate reasons, every single time I play an IF in which the MC gets an injury with lasting effects (that may or may not be a "mandatory" event) where the location of said injury will depend on circumstances and player choices, it's ALWAYS the leg (or knee or whatever). For some reason, be it directly related to player choice, to what plan was followed, to a RANDOM DICE ROLL, it's always the leg.
Yes, I have an Omega MC.
I guess my MC's are destined to have a limp.
PS: just to be clear, this is lighthearted and I'm not complaining (why would I) - I just think it's funny!
... omg this is extremely curious. I wonder what kind of implicit bias we all have for the leg injury... maybe, in a weird way, it's kind of weirdly aesthetic. Or weirdly romanticised in media and we automatically default to that kind of injury/disability

I'm sorry if somehow it comes out wrong, I just wanted to suggest a way to make the MC more personal-customizable, there isn't anything upsetting about having canon-disabilities. If the injuries weren't already so well thought for each type of MC, I would have suggested to let the player choose which scar/disability has their own MC
Oh I understand that, I wasn't upset, you're good <3

There's nothing upsetting about canon disabilities and I do believe what the anon said before is more to giving the players options on where or what type of disabilities they would like to have, though personally either way is good, it's your story to tell, so do it the way that will satisfy you.
Yeah, me too! I will definitely decide based on what I think it's best, but in general I like reading what people have to add on the matter

Would it really be... upsetting to have canon disabilities?
The answer is no.
Like you said, they're not less than. Do what you want dear author, i find this idea interesting and it adds some depth to the MC !
Thank you anon!

there's nothing wrong w having canon disabilities and honestly that'd be amazing rep given that very little IFs have canon disabilities, if you do implement it thatd be VERY COOL and I'd love to see that but yeah idk what that anon was talking abt 😖
I don't think anon was in bad faith, but I do think there are some implicit assumptions about disabilities and that having canon ones could be beneficial to address some of them in game

Mmh for the injuries, if it's not too difficult to code obv, maybe you could choose canon scars for every type and let people choose if there is a disability-attached too (like alpha has canon facial scars, but the player can choose a disability too like idk poor eyesight, for gammas wrists and ankles scars and the player can choose if there is also a nerve damage etc) or if are "only" scars
Would it really be... upsetting to have canon disabilities? People aren't damaged or lesser when they are disabled

Now I am just thinking of Kesha or the rest of the pack hand carving Omega MC a cane so they can walk comfortably in human form
Aw they would 100% do that once they learn of MC's bad leg

Hello!
I really like the idea of the injuries that mc has having some kind of consequence, like alpha!mc with vision problems.
Have you had any idea what would the other mc’s injuries, from what I remember, at least, the gamma!mc had in their wrists and ankles, consequences would be?
No pressure or anything, I’m just really curious!
For gamma mcs I was thinking about nerve damage (so tingling, maybe some problems with the grip strength or the fine motor skills of their hands).
For Omegas, maybe I'll leave the leg injury you saw in chapter 2. So some limping, maybe balance issues and flares of pain.

I’ve read the last few posts where you said you were thinking about implementing a disability/injury of sorts. I realize it’s only been conceptualized recently so this may or may not happen, but if you were to add this into the story, do you think it would be a choice up to the reader if their MC has a disability/injury or not? Or just a canon fact that every Mc has some sort of injury? Not trying to be insensitive or tell you what to do, my apologies if it comes across as pushy.
If I implement this, it will be a canon injury. Mainly because I want the captivity that MC went through to have long lasting consequences - mental, behavioural, and physical. Because this story is focused on healing, so that would fit the theme of the game perfectly

Okay so I have a ~thought~
Vision impaired Alpha MC relying heavily on their heighted senses to navigate putting a lot of strain on their body with their constant alertness. Then, as they get more comfortable, they begin relying less on their sense and more on the pack trusting them to guide them if needed.
The pack guiding MC with slight nudges and touches, Raine arranging the furniture to be easier to interact with, the pups yelping and nosing at MC to announce themselves

@lagawara
Omg yes! Healing together, the mirrored scars and wounds... finding your place in the pack as an alpha...

You are the King’s spouse, his right and left hand, the unstoppable executor of his will. Your name is whispered by enemies and allies with fear and respect alike, some says it’s your arm that bears the weight of the entire kingdom.
They call you the King’s hound. It started as a way to taunt you but it’s not that far away from the truth. Your loyalty is blind, your devotion absolute. The King’s vision is your vision.
Your name will forever mark history alongside theirs.
-
But for now, you are being shipped to your betrothed, alone and powerless on your way to Camelot.
As the seventh child of the Venegard House, you’ve always had little to look forward to other than an arranged marriage to achieve a political alliance. That’s exactly why, after your parents lost the rebellion against King Arthur, you were the one sent to him as a sign of newfound peace.
You don’t know what awaits you now, but after you Camelot will never be the same.
Tumblr media
King Arthur (he/they pronouns): the noble, compassionate and fair leader of Camelot. Protective and respectful, Arthur is going to give you as much freedom, space and support as you may need. Play your cards right and, if you choose to be their spouse only by name, they’ll become a very supportive wingman. No matter what you’ll be to them, you are enchanted by their vision from the moment you understand what they are fighting for. You know you’ll stand by their side no matter what. [25yo]
Knight Yniol (M/F/NB): one of the knights at the Round Table, almost 6’6” (2.00m) and the only one who fights with a spear, Yniol could be intimdating at first, but only to those who do not know how much they care for every single one of you. Composed and focused, they are the most gentle knight you’ll ever have the pleasure to meet. They’ve had their eyes on you from the moment you first arrived to Camelot and, close or not, you are now under their protection. [26yo]
Knight Evaine (M/F/NB): the most mysterious knight of the Round Table. You know they hide something under that carfree attitude because their façade craks most often than not. They recover fast, but every time their eyes are lost in the void at your shoulders a bit longer. They treat you like something fragile and delicate but maybe that’s the care they need themselves. Despite what some other knights say about them, they are not careless at all. In fact, all their movements and words are carefully measured, expecially around you. [24yo]
The physician Morien (M/F/NB): they are the caring, if a bit pragmatic, physician of the Round Table knights. Reserved and, at times, abrasive, they bear in their eyes the horror of a war that should never have happened. Despite this, or maybe because of this, you feel like they are one of the only one who can understand what you’ve gone through. They could become your most trusted confidant or, if you want, you could be for eachother the support pillar you both desperately need. [27yo]
Your personal servant Gwyar (M/F/NB): they are the one who’s been tasked with assisting you, and they have all the intention to make you feel comfortable and secure under their care. Born in the wild lands, they have traveled many miles towars Camelot in search of a future at court. Understanding, even while mantaining the proper distance, they will remain composed and mildly humorous until you show them signs of your interest. Expect them to be one of the most flattering and tender of all the ROs. [22yo]

Would be super cool if all wolf types had a specific canon lasting injury from the imprisonment.
It would be... now to think about what injury each type has

Hi, let me just say I loveeee this IF!! :)
But anyway, I thought of something kinda sad :( So Alpha! MC has injuries on their face from the sliver in the cage they were imprisoned in. Right? So the thought is what if the sliver in the cage somehow damaged their eyes. And that injury either blinded them in one eye or both.
So that i’m saying how would the pack react to Alpha! MC or really any mc whos eyes were extremely damaged during their imprisonment.
I think they'd adjust to make MC's life as comfortable and easy as possible, helping them, providing medical attention, and moving and announcing their presence to let MC know where they are and not trigger them.
But...
Now I'm considering making Alpha!MC with bad eyesight as a canon complication from their injuries

Hi! Sorry if it was asked before, but could you please explain how werewolf hierarchy works? I think that I kind if understand that alphas are on the very top like chieftains of a tribe, what about the rest? Who is next? What is delta? Is omega the lowest ranking member? And what do packmates do according to their ranks? Especially deltas. Finally, ate there any other designation except for alpha, beta, delta and omega? And what do they represent?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions, I just got very curious about the werewolf lore, especially yours because each author writes werewolves differently.
Hello, dear anon! I loved receiving this many lore questions <3 let's start from the beginning
Your comparison to a tribe is completely on point because packs were born in ancient times as sort of tribes and they have kept some of the structures and rituals to this day. There isn't a proper hierarchy, though. Just, everyone has its place and specific role.
There is only a sort of line of command when hunts are concerned, with alphas at the top and omegas being the ones to either stay home or act more according to their instincts (usually, alphas don't order omegas around. They just allow them to do their thing and most importantly alphas protect the vulnerable members of their pack). So this means that there isn't a lower ranking member per se.
In the pack, there are in total five designations: alphas, betas, gammas, deltas, omegas. (There may be more werewolf designations, but I will explain them if they are relevant to the plot)
Alphas are the ones who ultimately make the decisions in the pack. Not because they are dominant, but because they are the first to put themselves in line to protect the pack, or to bear the blunt of any decision that might go badly. Alphas are built to be resistant and deadly. Also to feel incredibly protective and territorial of their pack.
Betas follow alphas in hunts, and generally they are built for teamwork - in contrast with other roles who work better alone. Betas are intelligent and sensitive to the mood of the pack, they are quick to react and follow directions. They, too are quite protective, but not as territorial as alphas.
Gammas are the ones who guard the territory. Or scout the land. They are incredibly silent, and the fastest type of were (if you don't count omegas when they are feral). They generally work well with betas, and are in tune with other werewolves, responding to directions as the others decide. They can, though, disobey and fight if they don't feel like their orders are fair.
Deltas are the hard working wolves of the pack. Physically built for resistance and stamina, they aren't fast or agile. Instead, deltas usually help gammas guard the pack territory and rarely leave it (Indigo and Raine, the two deltas, weren't with Bela at the djinn lair). They experience strong urges to provide for the pack, and to protect it (they can be even quite possessive of the pack).
Omegas are, at the same time, the strongest designation and the most vulnerable. Strong because they are built to kill anyone that might threaten the pups/injured pack members - including strong supernaturals or even other werewolves. Vulnerable because omegas have a docile nature and can be exploited by supernaturals who are aware of this. Omegas are rarely aggressive, but they can go feral if their pack is gravely threatened.
In a way, omegas are kept in high regard by the pack. They are looked after and respected (in good packs) for their role.
