I know it's not going to happen, but I wish the supposedly upcoming Sims movie would be based on Strangetown lore. You could make a full-on sci-fi horror film with that shit. There's alien abductions, mad scientists, a serial killer whose baby daddy is death itself – hell, you could even throw in some stuff about neighbourhood corruption to make things reeeeeally fucky (since the premade neighbourhoods are known to ship with some corruption).

Instead, it's probably going to be either Sims 4 "lore", or, if we're lucky, a film that's not a direct adaptation of any specific lore but is instead about the existential horror of being a sim.

Behold: my partner, the silly language nerd.

I had a moment on Sunday where I got a big moment of gender affirmation in probably the nerdiest way possible.

For context, I'm AMAB, but Sunday was a femme day (genderfluidity, yo) so I decided to pretty myself up a little before heading to the Pathfinder game I run - everyone at the table already knows I'm genderfluid but they hadn't seen me outside of masc for a while, so might have been a slight surprise.

A little extra context: the host (one of my players) is from Brazil originally, so native Portuguese speaker. He hands me a snack and I decide fuck it,I'll be silly and say thanks in Portuguese (I don't speak it at all, but they all know I'm a language nerd so it balances out nicely). Let me paraphrase the next bit of conversation:

Me: Obrigado!

Him: Not today. Today you should say "obrigada".

Me: Huh? Oh, right, because of my gender.

Him: Yeah. So Daisy would say "obrigada", but Henry would say "obrigado".

The moment moved on and we played a good session, but let me tell you I have never been so validated from having my fucking grammar ripped apart
